A part load can suit a flexible schedule. A dedicated vehicle or full-load arrangement may be more appropriate when timing, segregation or handling requirements demand it.

Measure the goods as they travel
Include packaging, the pallet and any overhang in the length, width and height. Give the total freight weight and the weight of each item. Gross vehicle weight, such as 7.5t or 18t, is not the freight payload.
A load can fit inside the body but still fail to pass through the door, exceed the equipment rating or leave insufficient room to secure it. A photograph helps with awkward shapes, but it does not replace measurements.
A pallet count is only a starting point
A standard UK pallet is 1,200 × 1,000 mm; a Euro pallet is 1,200 × 800 mm. The loaded footprint may be larger. Confirm the actual dimensions, whether goods can be stacked, and any orientation restrictions.
Usable pallet positions depend on body dimensions, overhang, weight distribution, restraint space and delivery order. Refrigeration, cranes and mounted equipment can alter useful payload and loading arrangements.
How will it come off the vehicle?
Forklift or loading dock
Confirm that equipment and an authorised operator will be available at the booked time. Side loading may need a curtainsider or flatbed. A dock needs compatible vehicle height and a clear approach.
Tail lift and pallet truck
A tail lift lowers the load; a pallet truck moves it on a suitable surface. Check every weight on the platform, permitted handling method, footprint and load centre. Gravel, soft ground, steps and steep gradients need a different plan.
Crane, mounted forklift or a crew
A HIAB-type loader crane lifts; a MOFFETT-type truck-mounted forklift handles supported loads at ground level. Neither is interchangeable with two-person manual handling. Each needs its own access, capacity and operating-space assessment.

Belfast & the surrounding towns
For Belfast city centre, Titanic Quarter, the Harbour Estate, Lisburn, Newtownabbey, Antrim and Bangor, give the named receiving business and exact goods entrance. A passenger, office or visitor entrance may not be suitable for the load.
Include gatehouse instructions, bay bookings, vehicle-height limits and loading times. For an urgent consignment, tell us the ready time and the latest useful arrival. We check local vehicle availability for the job rather than applying a mainland collection estimate to every Northern Ireland address.
Derry/Londonderry, western & rural addresses
For Derry/Londonderry, Coleraine, Ballymoney, Omagh, Enniskillen, Cookstown and surrounding areas, provide a precise entrance and a local contact. For farms and rural sites, include narrow approaches, bridges, gate widths, gradients and turning space.
Tell us whether the receiving surface is firm and level and what unloading equipment is available. A load that fits a large vehicle may need a different approach if that vehicle cannot reach the site. Photographs help explain unusual loads or access before dispatch.
Belfast, Larne & the ferry handover
Name the exact port terminal, operator, booking or release reference and whether the movement is accompanied or unaccompanied. Include vehicle details, freight readiness, required check-in and the receiving hours after the crossing.
Book around current freight acceptance and sailing space. For example, Stena’s Belfast–Cairnryan freight guidance distinguishes booking, unaccompanied release and specialist cargo requirements. The appropriate operator must confirm its own arrangements. A passenger ferry time alone is not a complete freight-delivery plan.
Goods moving from Great Britain
The Windsor Framework includes simplified processes for eligible business-to-business goods moving from Great Britain to Northern Ireland. Eligibility depends on the goods, movement and the relevant UK Internal Market Scheme authorisation. It is not a blanket removal of goods-information requirements.
Start with the current GOV.UK Internal Market Movements guidance and goods categorisation guidance. Provide the sender and receiver, goods description, quantities, weights and commercial information. Agree who supplies the required information and any declaration or clearance service before dispatch.
Newry, the border area & onward destinations
For Newry, Armagh, Craigavon, Banbridge, Dungannon and onward work, make the final country and address clear. Include the Eircode where available for a Republic of Ireland destination, plus the receiving contact and hours.
Do not assume that goods travelling onwards into the Republic of Ireland qualify for the same process as goods intended to remain in the UK. Movements into, out of or through Northern Ireland need the applicable direction and goods checks. Use the current GOV.UK movement guidance and agree responsibilities for the actual route.
Airports, regular distribution & site handling
For Belfast International or George Best Belfast City Airport, name the handling organisation, facility, release reference and appointment. Airside access, customs work or specialist cargo handling must be agreed separately from the road collection.
For regular retail or business deliveries, send stop-by-stop volumes, receiving windows and returns. For two-person work, include carrying distance, stairs and lifts. Event refrigeration needs positioning, power, duration and removal details. Any ferry-linked schedule must include the receiving arrangements on both sides.

Two-person delivery does not automatically include unpacking, assembly, installation or removal of packaging. Set out the required tasks so they can be agreed.
Temperature control & event refrigeration
Refrigerated transport needs the goods, required temperature range, collection condition, journey and handover arrangements specified. Confirm any monitoring or documentation requirements when enquiring.
Event refrigeration is a separate requirement for refrigeration at the venue. Share the event dates, access, positioning, power arrangements and collection time. A refrigerated delivery is not automatically an event-hire booking.

What affects the collection and deadline?
Start with when the goods will actually be packed, released and ready to load. The collection estimate depends on a suitable available vehicle, its position, access and any equipment needed.
Onward timing includes the journey, loading and unloading, traffic, receiving slots and applicable driving and working-time limits. There is no reliable universal miles-per-day promise for every vehicle or job.
We assess same-day, overnight, weekend and out-of-hours requirements against those details. Tell us the real deadline, including any earlier goods-in closing time.
What affects the price?
The quote needs to account for vehicle positioning, the loaded journey, vehicle/body choice, relevant route charges and the time involved at both ends. Waiting, extra stops, additional labour, specialist equipment and a return or onward movement can change the cost.
For Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, islands or European movements, give the destination and deadline early. Ferry availability, check-in times, onward access and the goods documentation need to be assessed together. Agree who supplies any customs information and clearance services.
A clear load description and receiving plan reduce avoidable uncertainty. The price is not simply fuel cost multiplied by the distance between two postcodes.

How quickly can you collect a load in Northern Ireland?
We check the actual postcode, goods-ready time, load and available vehicle before confirming an estimate. Tell us the latest useful delivery time and any loading or access requirements. Our guidance about rapid collection in many mainland areas is not a blanket Northern Ireland collection guarantee.
Can you arrange a same-day delivery within Northern Ireland?
We can assess an urgent dedicated movement against the collection point, readiness, vehicle and receiving deadline. A local Belfast run and a longer journey to a rural western address need different timing. Give both full addresses and the complete packaged load details so we can confirm what is achievable.
Which Northern Ireland locations are covered?
The 24 entries include Belfast, Derry/Londonderry, Newry, major towns, the two listed Belfast airports, Belfast Port and Larne Port. Ask about surrounding rural addresses with a precise entrance location and access details. The directory describes transport coverage, not a depot in each place.
Can a collection in Northern Ireland reach Great Britain the same day?
It needs a complete route assessment. The vehicle must reach an appropriate sailing, meet freight check-in and acceptance requirements, cross, then reach the receiver within its hours and applicable driver limits. Ferry space and the full schedule must be confirmed. A quick collection alone does not guarantee same-day arrival in Great Britain.
Does a GB-to-Northern Ireland business load always need the same paperwork?
No. Current requirements depend on the goods and movement. Eligible business-to-business loads may use simplified Internal Market Movements where the relevant UKIMS authorisation and other conditions are met. Other loads need the applicable process. Check current GOV.UK guidance and agree the information and declaration responsibilities before collection.
What goods information should I prepare for a ferry-linked freight enquiry?
Send the sender and receiver details, exact goods description, quantity, packaged dimensions and gross weight, readiness and final destination. Have commercial information and any relevant registrations or existing references available. We agree the actual documentation required for the direction, goods and service; this enquiry list is not a completed declaration.
Should I mention batteries, chemicals, food or temperature requirements?
Yes. Identify the actual goods before booking, including any dangerous-goods classification or temperature requirement. Road and ferry acceptance, documents, equipment and handling must be assessed for that consignment. Describing a load only as “parts” or “pallets” is not enough to establish suitability, and specialist carriage is not automatically included.
Can you move goods between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland?
We can assess the road movement when the full route, final destination, goods and receiving details are clear. Include the Eircode where available. If goods originated in Great Britain or continue onwards, declare that too, because the applicable requirements depend on the complete movement and goods status. Agree the documentation scope before dispatch.
What is needed for a Belfast or Larne port collection?
Name the terminal, operator, release authority or booking reference, appointment and collecting requirements. Confirm whether the job concerns packaged goods, an accompanied vehicle or an unaccompanied unit. Equipment and permissions must match the task. Port coverage does not automatically include customs clearance or specialist container handling.
Can you collect freight from either Belfast airport?
We can assess a road collection from the specified handling facility at Belfast International or George Best Belfast City Airport. Provide the agent, release reference, slot, load details and onward deadline. Agree any controlled access, customs or specialist handling separately, and confirm that the goods are actually released.
What access details help with a rural Northern Ireland delivery?
Give the precise entrance, contact number, lane and gate widths, height or bridge limits, turning space and surface condition. State the loading and unloading equipment available. The appropriate vehicle depends on reaching and handling at the site as well as carrying the load; photographs can help establish that before allocation.
Choosing, booking and managing the vehicle
Will my dedicated courier delivery stay on the same vehicle?
A dedicated movement is normally collected and delivered on the same vehicle, travelling between the agreed points without a parcel-network sorting hub. Specify any extra stops, return collection or timed handover. If an unusual load or route needs a different arrangement, that should be discussed before booking. Shared or part-load haulage follows its agreed service plan.
Can you arrange evening, overnight or weekend transport?
Yes, we can discuss urgent and planned out-of-hours movements, and our phones are answered 24/7/365. Confirm that someone can release the goods and that the receiver will accept delivery at the proposed time. The suitable vehicle, equipment and driver schedule still need to be confirmed.
Do I need a courier van or a haulage vehicle?
Send the packaged length, width and height, item count, total weight and individual weights. A van may suit urgent parts or a compact load; multiple pallets, heavier freight or particular loading methods can need a rigid or articulated vehicle. We check the body, usable payload, door opening, loading equipment and access together. You do not need to choose the category before enquiring.
Can you deliver pallets without a forklift at the destination?
Possibly, using a suitable tail lift and pallet truck or another agreed handling arrangement. Give the loaded pallet footprint and weight, ground condition and distance to the handover point. Platform size, load centre and every weight carried on the lift must be checked. Gravel, soft ground, steps and steep gradients cannot be solved simply by requesting a tail lift.
When should I request an electric pump truck?
When pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck. This is Synergix's booking requirement, not a universal legal threshold. Lighter pallets may also need powered handling. The pallet, equipment, lift platform, surface and operating space must still be suitable.
Can LoadCheck tell me which vehicle to book?
LoadCheck gives a first estimate using packaged dimensions, weights and quantities. It does not confirm the door opening, available payload, lifting equipment, site access or vehicle availability for a particular booking. Use the result with the load details when you ask our team to confirm the movement.
How is the transport price worked out?
The quote depends on the actual load, vehicle and equipment, positioning and loaded journey, timing, route charges and time at both sites. Extra stops, waiting, additional crew or specialist handling can alter it. Send both postcodes, dimensions, weights, readiness and deadline for a job-specific quote.
Will I receive tracking and proof of delivery?
Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available. Agree the contact, update method and any named recipient or delivery-reference requirement when booking. If the load, collection point or receiving slot changes, contact us promptly so suitability, timing and price can be reassessed.
