Your load.
The right vehicle.

Browse the van, rigid, articulated and specialist options, then open a vehicle guide for dimensions, body types and loading advice. You can ask for a particular vehicle or let us work from your load details.

Vehicle illustrations show example bodies. We confirm the actual vehicle, usable space, payload and equipment for your booking. Specialist configurations are subject to suitability and availability.

01 / Same-day & dedicated courier

Port of Belfast courier.
A direct delivery.

If a missing component is holding up production, an event is waiting for its equipment or a customer needs stock today, call with the actual deadline. We arrange dedicated collection and delivery between the agreed points, without a parcel-network sorting hub.

Urgent business consignments

Documents, engineering parts, samples, tools, print, boxed stock and IT equipment can all need a dedicated courier. The smallest suitable vehicle depends on the packaged goods, not the label “parcel”. Send the quantity, dimensions and weights.

A server, delicate prototype or finished component needs packaging that protects it during loading and travel. Tell us if it must stay upright, cannot be stacked or needs a named recipient.

Pallets and bulky items

Courier work can include a suitable pallet or bulky consignment. We check the vehicle aperture, usable space, payload and unloading method. A pallet does not automatically fit a van just because it fits on the floor.

For heavier loads, several pallets or specialised unloading, see the haulage guidance. You can enquire without choosing the lorry first.

How quickly can we collect?

Call with the exact collection address, ready time and delivery deadline. We check local vehicle availability and the complete journey before agreeing a collection estimate. Lorries, refrigerated bodies and specialist equipment need their own positioning check. A Great Britain movement also depends on the booked crossing and goods requirements.

Collection speed is only part of the plan. Tell us when the goods will be released, how long loading will take and the receiver’s latest acceptance time. For an imported spare needed by a factory, confirm when the responsible party will release it and who can receive it. Vessel arrival, cargo availability and collection are separate stages. A van booked for a deadline does not establish a sailing, import release or permission to enter an operational terminal.

Port of Belfast collections and onward UK delivery

An urgent replacement part for a workshop, boxed goods released by a warehouse and supplies for a shipyard need different handovers. Give the packaged dimensions, individual weights, contents, goods-ready time and receiving deadline. Name the actual business, terminal, warehouse or vessel agent rather than using the port name alone.

A Harbour Estate delivery is not automatically a quayside delivery or a freight-ferry booking. Supply the order or release reference, authorised contact and correct vehicle entrance. Tell us whether the road leg stays in Northern Ireland, connects with a booked sailing to Great Britain or finishes in the Republic of Ireland so its timings and responsibilities can be assessed.

Updates, proof of delivery and repeat work

Our team remains your contact for the movement. Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available; agree any named-recipient, signature, photograph or reference requirements when booking.

We also assess scheduled supplier collections, branch transfers, multi-stop work and repeat courier routes. Phones are answered 24/7/365. The vehicle, crew and access at each end are confirmed for the booking.

02 / General & dedicated haulage

Port of Belfast haulage.
Planned around the load.

For dedicated pallet transport, heavier engineering freight or a regular trailer movement, Synergix arranges the vehicle and driver around your load, handling and receiving requirements. Options include 7.5t, 18t and 26t rigids, full artics and suitable specialist configurations.

Dedicated pallet transport

Tell us the actual loaded footprint, height, weight and whether the freight can be stacked. A nominal pallet size does not include a crate, machine or packaging that projects beyond it.

We arrange a dedicated vehicle for your palletised goods, with collection, delivery and loading agreed for your job. Our team coordinates the movement and remains your point of contact. Tell us about fragile freight, specific handling or a timed delivery when booking.

Full loads, part loads and repeat work

A full vehicle can support larger consignments, stock transfers, production schedules and loads needing dedicated capacity. Agree the body, floor space, payload and loading order.

Part-load haulage can also be discussed where a suitable arrangement is available. Agree its collection window, delivery plan and handling before booking. For regular work, send your collection frequency, usual volumes, busy periods, site opening hours and return-load requirements.

Choose the body as well as the lorry size

Box and curtainsider

A box body uses its specified door opening and loading arrangement. A curtainsider can allow suitable forklift loading from the side. Check clear aperture, side access and restraint; curtains alone are not a universal load-securing system.

Flatbed, crane and mounted forklift

Long material, machinery or a delivery without a forklift may need a different body or handling method. A HIAB-type crane and MOFFETT-type forklift do different jobs. Supply load weights, lifting points or fork access, required reach and site photographs.

Temperature-controlled loads

Specify the product, required temperature, collection condition, packaging and monitoring or handover records. A refrigeration unit changes the vehicle specification; confirm its actual payload and space.

Articulated and specialist trailers

Curtainsider, box, refrigerated, flatbed and specialist trailer requirements are assessed individually. A long or heavy item needs its full dimensions, weight distribution and loading plan checked. The illustrated range does not establish suitability for every load.

Getting it off matters just as much

Confirm a forklift, loading dock, tail lift or other agreed equipment at both ends. For a tail-lift delivery, we need the individual item weight, footprint, all weight on the platform, permitted handling method, load centre and the surface beyond the lift.

When pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck. This is Synergix's booking requirement. Lower weights can also need powered handling. A tail lift and pallet truck do not automatically solve gravel, slopes, steps or an unsuitable pallet.

Read our tail-lift and pallet-truck guidance.

Timed deliveries and urgent haulage

For prepared timber, steel products, machinery or commercial pallets, send the full loaded dimensions, individual weights, supports and restraint requirements. Identify side-loading, lifting points and equipment at both ends. State whether the job involves unpacked goods, a loaded container or an unaccompanied trailer, as these require different equipment, authority and handover arrangements. Suitability must be agreed for the actual load.

Urgent rigid or artic capacity can be assessed by our team. It does not carry the van collection estimate. Vehicle positioning, loading time, traffic, site appointments and applicable driver-hours limits determine the plan. UK, Ireland and European freight may also need ferry and goods-document arrangements.

Local work. Different requirements.

Transport shaped
by the Port of Belfast.

Belfast Harbour combines ferry freight, container handling, break-bulk trades and industrial businesses. The shipyard adds a distinct engineering supply chain. The practical examples below concern assessed road movements, rather than a claim to operate the port's terminal, stevedoring or shipping services.

Freight ferries and road movements

Booked crossings and receiving deadlines

Stena's Belfast freight information separates accompanied, unaccompanied and hazardous-unit check-in requirements. The terminal and current instructions belong to the booked service. An arrival estimate must cover check-in, the crossing and onward road delivery.

Give the route, direction, sailing or booking details, unit type and actual contents. Tell us when the goods are ready and when the receiver closes. A loose pallet is not automatically accepted as loose ferry traffic. We assess the road vehicle and overall plan, with shipment acceptance and responsibilities confirmed before the movement.

Terminals and Harbour Estate warehouses

Released freight and commercial stock

The harbour identifies container and other freight activity, while local warehousing and transport businesses use separately addressed estate premises. Collecting unpacked goods from a warehouse differs from collecting a sealed container or an unaccompanied trailer.

Supply the terminal or warehouse, release reference, quantity, packaged dimensions, weight and collection slot. Explain seals, handling units, loading equipment and any return arrangements. Container interfaces, trailer collection authority and terminal releases need their own checks; a general pallet or van enquiry does not establish those arrangements.

Break-bulk trades and industrial suppliers

Prepared timber, steel and paper loads

Belfast Harbour identifies timber, steel products and printing paper among its break-bulk trades. Its bulk facilities handle other commodities as well, but a port's full cargo range is not a list of goods or tanker services automatically accepted by Synergix.

For an assessed road load, describe the prepared goods, length, packed footprint, individual weights and weather protection. Give supports, lifting points or fork access and suitable restraint. Long or heavy items may need a different body and access plan. Declare any regulated contents before acceptance and confirm unloading equipment with the receiver.

Harland & Wolff and engineering suppliers

Shipbuilding parts and planned batches

Navantia UK's current Belfast updates identify Harland & Wolff shipyard activity on the Fleet Solid Support programme. This verifies a local defence-related shipbuilding supply context. It does not establish Synergix work for the yard or access to a controlled site.

For protected components, fabricated sections or prepared workshop equipment, give the full packed size, weight, release contact and authorised receiver. Explain surface protection, lifting, supports and the goods entrance. Any controls or site permissions need confirmation for the actual consignment. No defence customer, clearance or manufacturing approval is implied.

Local sector context: Belfast Harbour's port information and the harbour's cargo trades and Navantia UK's Belfast shipyard update. Named organisations provide local context, not claims of Synergix customers.

The last mile matters

Routes, loading
& site access.

The port has multiple terminals and businesses on different parts of the Harbour Estate. An office address, ferry terminal, container gate and shipyard entrance are different destinations. Use the booked operator's instructions and the actual receiver's goods entrance.

Terminal first, postcode second

Identify the business, terminal or warehouse, operator reference and goods entrance. West Bank Road, Dargan-area premises and Queen's Island destinations must not be treated as one interchangeable port address. Confirm the approach suitable for the assigned vehicle.

Use current operator instructions and TrafficWatchNI information for the full journey. Check vehicle restrictions, turning room, bay access and where waiting is permitted. A map of the harbour or passenger-terminal directions is not authority to enter an operational area.

Passes, induction and agreed access

Belfast Harbour's official access portal states that operational-area entry is controlled by a pass system for security and health reasons. Tell us which area is involved and identify the responsible sponsor or receiving contact before the job is agreed.

Confirm any pass, induction, escort, notification and vehicle requirements for the actual movement. A transport booking does not provide unrestricted quayside access. Ordinary estate business premises may have separate receiving rules, so do not assume one pass or entrance covers the whole port.

Release, slot and handling equipment

Give the cargo release or order reference, authority to collect, nominated terminal or warehouse and confirmed ready time. State whether the goods are loose, palletised, crated, containerised or on a trailer. Specify the loading method and receiving equipment.

Confirm any slot and deadline with the operator. Vessel arrival is not proof of release, and release is not proof the collecting vehicle is compatible. Any terminal handling, customs, container lift, trailer interchange or onward storage must have its responsibility and suitability agreed.

Crossings, changes and documents

For a Great Britain movement, plan the booked sailing, current route-specific check-in, goods acceptance and onward driving. Stena's freight check-in guidance directs customers to route or port information and to contact reservations when running late. Do not assume a missed sailing transfers automatically.

Agree documentation responsibilities for the actual movement. HMRC internal-market guidance has eligibility conditions; it is not a blanket exemption or clearance service. Declare actual goods, direction and any Republic of Ireland destination before a plan is agreed.

Confirm the last few metres

Describe the ground, slope, kerb, steps, loading bay and final placement. Photos help with a narrow yard or awkward entrance. A tail lift lowers goods; it does not move a pallet over gravel, up steps or through a doorway.

Port of Belfast and surrounding areas

Where is your
collection?

We assess collections and deliveries across the Port of Belfast and the surrounding area, with onward UK transport. These groups help describe the job. They are coverage areas, not Synergix branch locations or fixed service boundaries.

Port and terminal handovers

Port of Belfast freight terminals, Harbour Estate warehouses and separately identified commercial receiving points.

Provide the actual operator, business, reference, terminal or building and goods entrance. Release, access, vehicle compatibility and receiving windows need confirmation.

Industrial and supplier locations

West Bank Road, Duncrue, Dargan, Queen's Island and surrounding Harbour Estate and Belfast businesses.

These names describe coverage, not interchangeable gates or Synergix premises. Use the receiver's exact address, approach, unloading method and site contact.

Onward and regular road movements

Other Northern Ireland destinations, with Great Britain and Republic of Ireland movements assessed against the complete job.

Give crossing arrangements, documentation responsibilities, delivery deadlines, repeat schedules and return goods. Port proximity does not establish release or an available sailing.

A useful enquiry. A clearer quote.

Tell us the job.
We will help plan it.

  1. The two addressesCollection and delivery postcodes, company/unit names, goods entrances and a contact at each end.
  2. What needs movingGoods description, item or pallet count, packaged dimensions, total and individual weights, stackability and photographs where useful.
  3. When it is readyDate, ready time, latest arrival, goods-in closing time and any booked slot or reference. Identify fixed deadlines.
  4. How it will be handledForklift, dock, tail lift, pallet truck, crane or crew at both ends. Include surface, aperture and vehicle-access limits.
  5. Any special requirementFragile finish, temperature, regulated goods, multiple stops, returnable packaging, returns or agreed final placement.
  6. Updates and repeat workYour preferred contact, delivery evidence and, for regular transport, frequency, expected volumes and seasonal peaks.

What affects the price?

Vehicle positioning, loaded distance, vehicle/body type and time at collection and delivery all contribute. Waiting, additional stops, handling equipment, extra labour, route charges and a return journey can alter the quote.

For ferry or European work, route timing and goods-document requirements also matter. We quote the actual movement; there is no single Port of Belfast mileage price that fits every load.

What happens if something changes?

Tell us promptly about an extra pallet, heavier item, delayed release, changed entrance or missed slot. We can reassess the vehicle, deadline and cost before an unsuitable arrangement causes a problem.

An enquiry is the start of the conversation. Vehicle allocation, timing, handling and price are confirmed for the booking.

Before you book

Port of Belfast transport
questions answered.

Courier, timing and delivery

How quickly can you collect in Port of Belfast?

Call with the exact collection address, goods, ready time and deadline. We check local vehicle availability and the full movement before agreeing a collection estimate. Great Britain journeys also depend on the booked crossing, check-in and goods requirements. Lorries and specialist equipment need their own positioning assessment.

Can you deliver from Port of Belfast to another part of the UK on the same day?

We assess this for the complete journey. Local Northern Ireland work differs from Great Britain delivery, which also needs a suitable booked crossing, check-in time, goods information and onward driving. Give both addresses, release time and the receiver’s latest acceptance time before a delivery plan is agreed.

What can a dedicated courier carry?

Courier work can include documents, parts, samples, print, IT equipment, technical cases, boxed stock and suitable bulky or palletised goods. Give the packaged dimensions, quantities and individual weights so we can assess the vehicle, loading and receiving arrangements.

Will a dedicated courier load stay on the same vehicle?

It normally stays on the same vehicle between the agreed collection and delivery points, without a parcel-network sorting hub. Tell us about extra stops, returns or unusual route requirements so the arrangement is clear before booking.

Can I call at night or at the weekend?

Yes. Our phones are answered 24/7/365. Call to discuss the load and confirm a suitable vehicle and plan. Someone must be available to release the goods and accept them at the agreed times.

How will I receive delivery updates and proof of delivery?

Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available. Agree the updates and evidence you need when booking, including a named recipient, signature, photograph or delivery reference.

Haulage, vehicles and unloading

Do I need a courier or a haulage arrangement?

Start with the goods and deadline. An urgent part, technical case or suitable pallet may need a courier. Heavier freight, larger volumes, specialist bodies or repeat loads may need haulage. Send the load and site details and we will help you choose.

Can you arrange dedicated pallet transport in Port of Belfast?

Yes, we assess dedicated pallet movements with collection, delivery and a suitable vehicle agreed for the job. Send the loaded footprint, height, individual weights, quantity, stackability and loading at both ends. Synergix does not offer pallet-network services.

Can you discuss full loads, part loads and regular deliveries?

Yes. Full loads, regular haulage and supported part-load arrangements can be discussed. Agree the body, loading, collection window and delivery plan. Part-load availability is assessed individually; it is not a pallet-network product.

How do I choose a van or lorry, and can LoadCheck help?

Measure each item as it will travel, including packaging, the pallet and overhang. Enter packaged dimensions, weights and quantities into LoadCheck for an initial size estimate. Our team confirms actual fit, usable payload, apertures, restraint, equipment, access and availability.

What if the delivery site has no forklift?

Tell us before booking. A suitable tail lift, mounted forklift, crane or agreed crew may be an option, depending on the goods and site. Send item weights, dimensions, fork access or lifting points, ground conditions and final placement. These handling methods solve different problems and must be agreed.

When must I request an electric pump truck?

Under Synergix’s booking rule, request an electric pump truck when pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more. Lighter pallets may also need powered handling. Platform load, footprint, ground and the actual equipment still need checking.

Can you assess a crane or mounted-forklift delivery?

Yes. Send the precise goods, individual weights, dimensions, lifting points or fork access, required placement and photographs of the unloading area. Crane reach and support conditions differ from forklift access. Suitability, equipment and availability are confirmed for the job.

Can you arrange refrigerated transport or event refrigeration?

We can assess both, with the product, required temperature and handover agreed. Refrigerated transport moves goods under an agreed temperature arrangement. Stationary event refrigeration provides storage at a venue. Tell us which you need, the duration, access and any power requirement.

Port of Belfast access and local handovers

What details do you need for a Port of Belfast collection?

Give the terminal or warehouse, operator or business, release reference, authority to collect, confirmed ready time and goods entrance. Describe the actual packages, pallets, container or trailer, with dimensions, weights and handling method. Supply the receiving address, deadline and unloading equipment. Vessel arrival alone is not proof of release.

Does a road booking give access to Belfast Harbour operational areas?

No. The actual area's pass, induction, sponsor, escort, notification and vehicle requirements must be confirmed with the responsible site before the movement is agreed. A Harbour Estate business delivery and an operational quayside collection can have different rules. Give the precise receiving point and authorised contact.

Can a loose pallet be sent straight to a freight ferry terminal?

Do not assume the operator accepts loose freight. Identify the booked route and unit type, goods, loading arrangement and acceptance requirements before planning the road leg. A pallet transported in a suitable booked road vehicle differs from presenting it as loose ferry traffic. Confirm the current instructions with the ferry operator.

What happens if collection delays threaten the booked sailing?

Tell us as soon as release or loading changes. The route-specific check-in and any booking change need confirmation with the responsible operator. We reassess the road and receiving plan against the revised crossing. Do not assume the next sailing has space, a missed booking transfers automatically or the original delivery deadline remains possible.

Price, booking and changes

What affects the price of a Port of Belfast courier or haulage job?

Vehicle positioning, route distance, body type, deadline, waiting, loading, extra stops, handling equipment and additional labour affect the quote. Send accurate goods and site details. We price the actual arrangement rather than applying one mileage rate to every load.

How do I book, and what happens if the job changes?

Request a quote or call with both addresses, packaged dimensions, individual and total weights, quantities, ready time, deadline, contacts and handling at both ends. We confirm the vehicle, plan and price for the booking. Tell us promptly about added goods, delayed release or a changed slot so we can reassess.

Can you discuss warehousing, retail distribution or two-person delivery?

Yes. Send the usual route, frequency, volumes, receiving windows and seasonal peaks. Warehousing, cross-docking, retail distribution and agreed two-person handling can be considered within a wider arrangement. Storage location, handling scope, availability and commercial terms are agreed separately.
