What we provide
Room-of-choice delivery
Room-of-choice delivery is the requested internal carrying service. Our basic two-person delivery is kerbside; book the room, floor and positioning you need so your quotation covers the journey inside.
The destination
Name the room and floor
Tell us exactly where the item should finish, including the floor and property type. A ground-floor room beside the entrance and a flat several levels up involve different access, time and handling requirements.
The route
Check the whole carry
Include the distance from vehicle to door, entrances, corridors, turning space, stairs and lifts. The smallest opening is only part of the picture: a long item must also turn through the route and be manoeuvred into position.
The team
Plan people and equipment
Give weights, dimensions, shape and handling instructions. Two-person delivery does not provide a universal lifting allowance. A larger team, mechanical handling or a different approach may be necessary for the item and property.
The finish
Choose the extras required
Placement in the agreed room does not automatically include unpacking, assembly, connection or packaging removal. Request these tasks with the quote, including any product instructions and checks required at handover.

View stationary dimensions and vehicle guide links
These are typical standard-body planning figures. Actual load space, doors, loading equipment and usable payload must be checked for the assigned vehicle.
| Vehicle | Load space | Payload | Checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small van | 1.2 × 1 × 1 m | Up to 400 kg | Compact loads. Check item size and handling at each end. |
| SWB van | 2.4 × 1.2 × 1.2 m | Up to 800 kg | Smaller goods. Check door openings and wheel arches. |
| LWB van | 3.6 × 1.2 × 1.8 m | Up to 1,250 kg | Longer enclosed loads. Check openings and restraint. |
| XLWB van | 4.2 × 1.2 × 1.8 m | Up to 1,100 kg | Extra length for bulky goods. Length does not increase lifting capacity. |
| Luton van | 4 × 2 × 2 m | Up to 1,100 kg | Bulky items. Up to 900 kg with a tail lift; confirm platform capacity. |
| 7.5 tonne lorry | 6 × 2.2–2.4 × 2–2.445 m | Up to 2,400 kg | Body-dependent dimensions. Confirm unloading equipment and access. |
| 18 tonne lorry | 7.5 × 2.4 × 2.5 m | Up to 9,000 kg | Larger loads. Confirm turning space and unloading. |
| 26 tonne lorry | 8 × 2.5 × 2.6 m | Up to 15,000 kg | Larger rigid capacity. Equipment reduces usable payload. |
| 13.6m artic | 13.6 × 2.5 × 2.6 m | Up to 26,000 kg | Bulk loads and projects. Confirm trailer, loading and access. |
The handling plan still matters.
Vehicle capacity does not establish what a person or team can lift. Tail-lift capacity, the whole platform load, ground conditions and the carrying route need checking. Body conversions and equipment can reduce useful space and payload.
Practical product and project detail
What can be delivered to your chosen room?
Furniture is a familiar example, but the list of suitable enquiries is much wider. Tell us the actual item and location so we can assess the internal delivery.
- Furniture
- Appliances
- Fragile goods
- Equipment
- Other bulky items
Sofas, beds, tables and cabinets
Give packed and assembled dimensions, weights and removable parts. A sofa that fits the room may still need a different route through a narrow hallway. Dismantling or building it inside is a separate task to agree.
Domestic and commercial appliances
Provide the model, dimensions, weight and handling instructions. Tell us about thresholds, flooring and the final position. Connection, disconnection, plumbing and electrical work are not included automatically in room delivery.
Glass, delicate finishes and valuable pieces
Describe fragile surfaces, existing condition, value and the packaging. We agree the protection and handling method before acceptance, rather than assume that adding a second person makes any fragile carry straightforward.
Machinery and workplace equipment
Give the machine weight, centre-of-gravity information where available and manufacturer handling points. The route, floor and required equipment determine whether the planned movement is practical; some goods need more than a manual carry.
Unusual shapes and awkward loads
The examples are not a limit on enquiries. Send photographs, dimensions and the intended room. We will check the job, suitable transport and handling requirements before confirming the service.
Homes, flats and commercial rooms
Upstairs starts with an access plan.
A top-floor flat, a tight staircase and a goods lift each change the job. Explain the actual route so the right arrangement can be quoted.
Stair access
Describe each flight and turning
Give the floor, number of flights, stair width, landing space and any sharp turns or low ceilings. Photographs help explain the layout. The item size and handling method must work throughout the route, not just at the front door.
Lift access
Check more than lift capacity
Supply opening and internal dimensions, capacity and any building booking rules. Confirm the route into and out of the lift as well. A weight rating alone does not establish that a packaged item can fit or turn.
Outside access
Account for the carry to the entrance
Steps, steep drives, uneven paths, gravel and long distances can affect handling before the team enters the property. Tell us where a suitable vehicle can stop and whether permission or parking arrangements are required.
Difficult movements
Discuss alternatives before arrival
If normal access looks doubtful, share the information early. Extra people, suitable equipment or another planned method may be considered. Window access, external lifting or building alterations must never be assumed within a room-delivery booking.
Do not book from an assumed safe lifting weight.
Weight matters, but shape, grip, people, distance and access matter too. We assess the proposed movement and confirm the method rather than promise that two people can carry every heavy item.
Make the appointment useful
Have the room and recipient ready.
The person receiving the goods should know what is booked and what the team needs to complete the delivery. Clear information prevents a kerbside expectation on one side and a full installation expectation on the other.
Before delivery
Clear the agreed route and space
Move obstructions from corridors and the destination area, secure pets and arrange access through shared doors or gates. Tell us about delicate floors or surfaces so suitable protection can be discussed in advance.
Appointment
Agree who contacts the recipient
Synergix can arrange delivery with the end user or follow your supplied appointment instructions. Confirm who communicates the date, any delivery window and advance call, plus what happens if access or availability changes.
Positioning
Keep a decision-maker available
The recipient or nominated contact should identify the agreed position and answer access questions. An extra room, floor or movement outside the brief may need more time, equipment and a revised price.
Completion
Check the agreed handover
Confirm the item has reached its agreed position and note any issue through the arranged process. Proof of delivery is provided; additional condition photographs, unpacking checks or installation records should be requested beforehand.
Why choose Synergix?
The people and capability behind the work.
A practical plan, suitably prepared people and an accountable team to follow the work through.
Right level of service
Carry agreed before delivery day
Booking the room and route in advance gives the recipient a useful service and gives the crew a realistic task. You know where delivery finishes rather than expecting an unpriced carry after the vehicle arrives.
Prepared teams
Skills matched to the goods
We train or appoint suitably skilled drivers and mates for accepted customer requirements. Tell us about product-specific handling, fragile finishes and the exact positioning or setup required.
Furniture experience
Trusted by major UK retailers
Synergix works with major furniture retailers and understands that the end customer judges the visit as well as the transport. The room, access, communication and agreed finish all matter to that experience.
Protection
Fully insured transport
Declare the item, value and internal carrying requirement so applicable cover can be checked. Assembly, connection or other on-site work needs its own accepted scope, rather than being assumed within a transport booking.
Visibility and help
Tracking, POD and 24/7 support
Live tracking and proof of delivery support the booked transport, with operations available around the clock. Specific appointment windows, pre-calls and additional records are confirmed for the service.
Practical experience
Three generations in transport
Our family transport background supports a practical approach to the whole journey, including the final carry. Mainland UK coverage and a responsible team help retailers and individual customers plan the job clearly.
How the job works
From the brief to the handover.
Agree the work before the appointment so the goods, people, time and site arrangements fit together.
- Share the goods and room
Send dimensions, weights, the addresses and the intended floor and position. Include access photographs.
- Check the carrying plan
We confirm the route, suitable people or equipment, requested extras, appointment and price.
- Prepare for arrival
Make the agreed route and destination available and keep the recipient or authorised contact reachable.
- Receive in the agreed room
The team completes the accepted carry and positioning, records the handover and raises any exceptions with your contact.
Price and preparation
What we need to quote.
The price depends on the goods, transport, room and floor, carrying distance, access, team and equipment. A top-floor delivery can take more time and planning than a straightforward ground-floor carry. Tell us the full route and extras so the quotation matches where you need the item to finish.
- GoodsItem descriptions, number of pieces, weights and packed dimensions. Include model details, handling instructions, fragile parts and declared values.
- Addresses and roomCollection and delivery details, property type, floor, room and final position. State whether goods need carrying at collection too.
- Entrances and turnsDoor openings, hallway and corner space, thresholds and the distance from vehicle to entrance and room. Photographs are helpful.
- Stairs and liftsFlights, landings, ceiling height, lift opening and internal dimensions, capacity and access booking requirements.
- Timing and recipientPreferred date, recipient contact and who arranges the appointment. Explain any restricted hours or dependency on other work.
- Requested extrasUnpacking, assembly, connections, packaging removal, exchanges or outgoing items. Describe the exact work and any nominated return destination.
Answers before you book
Room-of-choice delivery questions.
Service scope, preparation and the details that affect the booking.
What does room-of-choice delivery mean?
It means the team carries the agreed goods beyond the kerbside into a named room and positions them as booked. The item, floor, route and handling requirements are confirmed with the quotation.
Is room delivery included in standard two-person delivery?
No. Synergix standard two-person delivery is kerbside. Request room-of-choice delivery so the internal carry, floor, route and price can be agreed in advance.
Can you deliver upstairs or to a top-floor flat?
We can arrange suitable upstairs deliveries after checking the goods, stairs, lift and carrying route. Give dimensions, weights, floor details and photographs. Extra people or equipment may be required.
Is there a maximum weight for two people?
There is no single weight that makes every two-person carry suitable. Shape, grip, people, distance, stairs and equipment all matter. Give the actual details so we can assess the movement rather than book against an assumed shared allowance.
What measurements should I check?
Measure the item as transported, door openings, corridors, corners, stairways, landings and any lift. Include the space needed to turn or change direction, as well as the final room. Photographs help us understand the route.
Does the service include unpacking or assembly?
Only if requested and agreed. Room delivery and positioning are different tasks from unpacking, building furniture, fitting accessories or installing a product. Include each requirement with the quote.
Will you connect an appliance?
Connections and disconnections are not automatic. Identify the appliance and exact gas, electrical, plumbing or other work required. We confirm the task and suitable competence before accepting it.
Can you take away the packaging or old item?
Yes, by arrangement. Provide packaging quantities or the outgoing item list, condition, access and nominated destination. Disposal and recycling require separately confirmed arrangements.
Do I need to help with lifting?
We plan the handling team and equipment for the accepted job rather than depend on unagreed recipient lifting help. Tell us about loading assistance available at either end, but do not assume it replaces the planned crew or method.
What if the item will not fit or the lift is unavailable?
Contact us as soon as this is known. The team will discuss a safe, practical next step with the responsible person. Extra dismantling, another route, equipment or a new appointment may need agreement and a revised price.
Can you arrange the visit with my customer?
Yes, or we can follow your supplied appointment instructions. Agree the recipient contact, date, any window or advance call and the process for a missed appointment. There is no universal notification schedule assumed.
Where is room-of-choice delivery available?
We cover mainland UK, with island deliveries considered individually around access, crossings and timing. Give the precise destination and handling requirements so the whole journey can be assessed.
Talk through the requirement
Tell us where it needs to finish.
Send the goods, property and route to your chosen room. We will help plan the carry, people, equipment and requested extras before delivery day.
