What we provide
Furniture assembly
Furniture assembly covers more than boxed flat-pack products. Some pieces arrive largely built but need legs, sections, tops or accessories fitted. Others need assembly from components or agreed reassembly after movement. Describe the starting condition and required finish so the team arrives for the right task.
New deliveries
Finish the furniture on arrival
Arrange the assembly needed after delivery, from attaching supplied feet to connecting modular sections. Give the exact model and manufacturer's method so seemingly small tasks are planned correctly.
Complete builds
Assemble from components
Provide instructions, quantities and all options for furniture supplied in parts. Working space, tools, handling and any securing requirements are reviewed together rather than priced only by the number of cartons.
Existing pieces
Consider agreed reassembly
If furniture has been taken apart for movement, tell us how, by whom and whether all fittings are present. We assess the product's condition and suitable reassembly method before accepting the work.
Retail programmes
Train around your range
For repeated deliveries, we can train or appoint appropriately skilled people to follow your approved method. Agree product variations, checks and the level of service your customers have been promised.

These are typical standard-body planning figures. Actual load space, doors, loading equipment and usable payload must be checked for the assigned vehicle.
| Vehicle | Load space | Payload | Checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small van | 1.2 × 1 × 1 m | Up to 400 kg | Compact loads. Check item size and handling at each end. |
| SWB van | 2.4 × 1.2 × 1.2 m | Up to 800 kg | Smaller goods. Check door openings and wheel arches. |
| LWB van | 3.6 × 1.2 × 1.8 m | Up to 1,250 kg | Longer enclosed loads. Check openings and restraint. |
| XLWB van | 4.2 × 1.2 × 1.8 m | Up to 1,100 kg | Extra length for bulky goods. Length does not increase lifting capacity. |
| Luton van | 4 × 2 × 2 m | Up to 1,100 kg | Bulky items. Up to 900 kg with a tail lift; confirm platform capacity. |
| 7.5 tonne lorry | 6 × 2.2–2.4 × 2–2.445 m | Up to 2,400 kg | Body-dependent dimensions. Confirm unloading equipment and access. |
| 18 tonne lorry | 7.5 × 2.4 × 2.5 m | Up to 9,000 kg | Larger loads. Confirm turning space and unloading. |
| 26 tonne lorry | 8 × 2.5 × 2.6 m | Up to 15,000 kg | Larger rigid capacity. Equipment reduces usable payload. |
| 13.6m artic | 13.6 × 2.5 × 2.6 m | Up to 26,000 kg | Bulk loads and projects. Confirm trailer, loading and access. |
The handling plan still matters.
Vehicle capacity does not establish what a person or team can lift. Tail-lift capacity, the whole platform load, ground conditions and the carrying route need checking. Body conversions and equipment can reduce useful space and payload.
Practical product and project detail
Furniture we can assemble and set up
Useful planning starts with the actual product. These categories show common differences in the work, and are not a promise that every model, mechanism or fixing is automatically included.
- Sofas
- Bedrooms
- Living and dining
- Storage
- Commercial spaces
- Outdoors
Sofas, armchairs and modular seating
Tell us whether feet, backs or modules travel separately and provide the connection method. Identify powered features, reclining mechanisms and fragile trims. Positioning and mechanical assembly are distinct from any electrical connection or fault repair.
Bed frames and bedroom sets
Give the bed model, size and options, including drawers, storage bases and headboards. Allow enough room to work around the build and explain where each piece finishes. Mechanisms and heavy sections can change the team or handling equipment needed.
Tables, chairs and substantial tops
A dining table may need its base joined to a large top rather than a full flat-pack build. Tell us about material, weight, glass and lifting points. Multiple chairs and accessories should be included in the item count and working-time allowance.
Wardrobes, cabinets and shelving
Supply the configuration and instructions, including doors, internal fittings and any restraint requirement. Ceiling clearance, uneven floors and skirting can affect the work. Freestanding assembly does not automatically include bespoke carpentry or fitted cabinetry.
Desks, meeting tables and workplace furniture
Use room plans and item references for multi-item work. Describe screens, storage and accessories to be fitted. Agree the sequence around staff and other contractors, and list any proposed fixing or technical work separately.
Garden seating and other agreed products
We can review garden furniture and product-specific outdoor assembly, with pergola experience available for relevant enquiries. Send the exact product and site information. Bases, anchoring and weather conditions require their own arrangements.
Agree the start and the finish
Define a complete assembly job
A clear brief prevents a mismatch between what was sold, what was delivered and what the team is expected to finish. It also makes it easier to identify genuine problems early.
Starting point
New, pre-assembled or part-built?
Tell us whether the furniture is new in its packaging, partly assembled or previously used. Send photographs of any damage, missing components or earlier work. A partly completed build needs review rather than the same allowance as a complete new kit.
Method
Follow the product instructions
The guide identifies sequence, tools and any steps that need assistance. Supply the version for the actual model and accessories. We do not assume a familiar-looking item can be built safely from memory.
Completion
Agree what gets checked
List the required final checks, position and sign-off contact. If a retailer needs photographs or a checklist, agree that in advance. A delivery signature alone does not certify assembly, product safety or technical commissioning.
Changes
Keep additional work controlled
Extra pieces, different furniture, missing fittings or an unavailable room can affect the job. Agree a contact who can decide the next step. Modifying furniture or substituting parts requires an approved method and an accepted scope.
Securing requirements matter
Where instructions require securing to a wall or another surface, identify it before booking. Permission, substrate, suitable fixings and the people to complete that task must be confirmed. Do not treat essential securing as an optional step that can be ignored.
Make room for the work
Prepare the property and appointment
The final furniture footprint is only part of the space needed. Carrying large sections and assembling them can require clear areas, turning space and a sensible sequence.
Access
Get the parts to the working area
Share parking, carrying distance, stairs, lift dimensions and narrow turns. If transport is included, specify the delivery room. Standard two-person delivery is kerbside unless carrying and assembly are agreed.
Working area
A clear space around the build
Prepare the room and disclose vulnerable surfaces. Keep unrelated boxes, existing furniture, children and pets out of the working area. Let us know if furniture has to be built lying down and then raised.
Site coordination
Work around the property
For offices, hospitality or residential programmes, identify who opens rooms and who approves final positions. Arrange any lifts, permits or goods-in bookings and tell us about other contractors using the same space.
Scheduling
Allow realistic time per visit
We can discuss single appointments, repeat retailer runs and day-rate work. Travel, access, item count and complexity shape the schedule. Out-of-hours attendance is agreed around the team and task.
Why choose Synergix?
The people and capability behind the work.
A practical plan, suitably prepared people and an accountable team to follow the work through.
Customer-specific preparation
People who understand the brief
We train or appoint appropriately skilled drivers and mates for the assembly work accepted. Your product instructions and desired finish shape the preparation instead of being left for the recipient to explain.
Furniture experience
Trusted with major retailer work
Synergix works with some of the largest furniture retailers. That background supports careful product handling and customer-facing appointments, without publishing private client names or unsupported performance figures.
One coordinated job
Transport and assembly together
Where booked together, the same operation plans collection, carrying, assembly and handover. You can explain the complete requirement once and agree how the different parts fit the delivery schedule.
Visibility
Live tracking and proof of delivery
Follow the furniture movement and receive delivery confirmation. Agree a separate assembly checklist, photographs or exceptions record when your business needs more than proof that goods reached the address.
Reassurance
Fully insured transport
Transport cover is checked against the furniture, value and service. Assembly, fixing and other on-site work require separate scope and cover confirmation so the full appointment is understood.
National capability
Personal support across mainland UK
Three generations of family transport experience support mainland UK work and 24/7/365 operations contact. We confirm local attendance, suitable skills and any island arrangements against the actual project.
How the job works
From the brief to the handover.
Agree the work before the appointment so the goods, people, time and site arrangements fit together.
- Describe the furniture
Send product information, starting condition, quantities and the finished result required. Include the delivery and access details if goods also need moving.
- Agree people and method
We review the instructions, tools, handling, securing and site readiness, then confirm the scope, appointment and preparation responsibilities.
- Assemble the accepted work
The team works to the agreed method. Missing parts, unexpected damage or changes are referred to the named contact rather than hidden behind an incomplete handover.
- Position and complete
Check the agreed position and completion points, record outstanding tasks and arrange any packaging or return movement included in the booking.
Price and preparation
What we need to quote.
Assembly is quoted from the furniture and work, not a universal charge per item. Product complexity, quantity, condition, access, working time, team and any accepted fixing affect the price. For retailers, we can discuss repeat product work or day-rate arrangements with clear assumptions about each visit and how changes are handled.
- Furniture detailsModel references, photographs, instructions, quantities and accessories. State whether items are new, pre-assembled or partly built.
- Current locationWhether collection and transport are required or goods are already on site, and the room where assembly is needed.
- Access and handlingDimensions, weight, parking, floors, stairs, lifts, doors, turning space and any lifting aids already available.
- Assembly scopeFeet, modules, tops, frames, doors, accessories and any securing, reassembly or additional tasks requested.
- Readiness and checksAll-parts availability, working space, final layout, required checklist and the person who will accept completion.
- Dates and finishing tasksAppointment dates, delivery contacts, repeated volumes, packaging collection and any return movement requested.
Answers before you book
Furniture assembly questions.
Service scope, preparation and the details that affect the booking.
Can you assemble sofas as well as flat-pack furniture?
Yes. Assembly can include sofa feet, modules and other supplied components as well as furniture built from parts. Send the exact model, instructions and desired finish so the work can be accepted and planned.
Can furniture delivery and assembly be booked together?
Yes, where agreed as one service. Include carrying to the working room, assembly and positioning in the request. Standard two-person transport alone is kerbside, so these tasks should not be assumed.
Do you assemble furniture already at my premises?
Tell us what is already on site and the work you need. We can assess the assembly requirement separately from any delivery. Product details, instructions, readiness and access still determine the appointment.
Can you reassemble used or previously dismantled furniture?
We can consider it after reviewing the product, condition and method. Tell us about earlier dismantling, damaged joints and missing fittings. Suitability and the exact work must be confirmed before booking.
Do I need to supply tools?
Share the instructions and any special product tools or fittings beforehand. We confirm what the team brings and what must be supplied with the furniture or available at the premises.
What happens if a part is damaged or missing?
The team refers the problem to the agreed contact before proceeding with affected work. Replacement parts or a revisit may be needed. We do not promise to carry every fitting or repair every defect during an assembly appointment.
Will you secure furniture to a wall?
Any required securing must be identified and agreed, including property permission, wall information, fixings and suitably skilled people. Essential restraints in the product instructions cannot simply be omitted to call the job complete.
Can you assemble furniture in an office?
Yes, for agreed furniture and tasks. Provide quantities, room plans, model references and access windows. Connections, fitted joinery and technical installation should be described separately so the skills required can be checked.
How long will assembly take?
We estimate time from the exact items, number of units, instructions, starting condition and site. There is no single duration for a sofa setup, storage unit and full workplace. Access and readiness also affect attendance.
Can you take the packaging away?
Yes, when pre-arranged. Tell us the type and quantity, what must be kept and the intended destination for collected material. Disposal and recycling arrangements are not automatically part of furniture assembly.
Can you provide trained teams for a regular furniture range?
Yes. We can discuss training or appointing skilled people around an agreed product range and service method. Share expected volumes, geography, common options and completion checks so we can plan repeat work.
Can you attend urgently or outside normal hours?
Ask us about the task and preferred time. We confirm attendance around product skills, people and availability. Our conditional 60-minute UK courier collection offer is separate and does not guarantee immediate assembly attendance.
