01 / Same-day & dedicated courier
Selby courier.
A direct delivery.
If a missing component is holding up production, an event is waiting for its equipment or a customer needs stock today, call with the actual deadline. We arrange dedicated collection and delivery between the agreed points, without a parcel-network sorting hub.
Urgent business consignments
Documents, engineering parts, samples, tools, print, boxed stock and IT equipment can all need a dedicated courier. The smallest suitable vehicle depends on the packaged goods, not the label “parcel”. Send the quantity, dimensions and weights.
A server, delicate prototype or finished component needs packaging that protects it during loading and travel. Tell us if it must stay upright, cannot be stacked or needs a named recipient.
Pallets and bulky items
Courier work can include a suitable pallet or bulky consignment. We check the vehicle aperture, usable space, payload and unloading method. A pallet does not automatically fit a van just because it fits on the floor.
For heavier loads, several pallets or specialised unloading, see the haulage guidance. You can enquire without choosing the lorry first.
How quickly can we collect?
A Selby van collection may be possible in around 45 minutes, subject to the address, goods and a suitable available vehicle. Call for an estimate for your actual job. A rigid, artic, refrigerated body or specialist handling arrangement needs its own availability check.
Collection speed is only part of the plan. Tell us when the goods will be released, how long loading will take and the receiver’s latest acceptance time. A part collected from Barlby after inspection may have a later release time than the supplier's office opening hours. We plan against the goods being ready and the receiving team being available.
Selby collections and onward UK delivery
Tell us whether the goods are at a Barlby Road factory, the Prospect Centre, a town-centre business or a surrounding supplier. Send the unit, goods entrance and contact who can release them. An address alone does not tell us whether the consignment is packed and ready.
A replacement part for a production line, packaged samples or an urgent stock transfer can need dedicated transport. Give the packaged dimensions, weight, ready time and receiver's deadline. For fragile equipment or glass, explain its protection and handling before we choose the vehicle.
Updates, proof of delivery and repeat work
Our team remains your contact for the movement. Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available; agree any named-recipient, signature, photograph or reference requirements when booking.
We also assess scheduled supplier collections, branch transfers, multi-stop work and repeat courier routes. Phones are answered 24/7/365. The vehicle, crew and access at each end are confirmed for the booking.
02 / General & dedicated haulage
Selby haulage.
Planned around the load.
For dedicated pallet transport, heavier engineering freight or a regular trailer movement, Synergix arranges the vehicle and driver around your load, handling and receiving requirements. Options include 7.5t, 18t and 26t rigids, full artics and suitable specialist configurations.
Dedicated pallet transport
Tell us the actual loaded footprint, height, weight and whether the freight can be stacked. A nominal pallet size does not include a crate, machine or packaging that projects beyond it.
We arrange a dedicated vehicle for your palletised goods, with collection, delivery and loading agreed for your job. Our team coordinates the movement and remains your point of contact. Tell us about fragile freight, specific handling or a timed delivery when booking.
Full loads, part loads and repeat work
A full vehicle can support larger consignments, stock transfers, production schedules and loads needing dedicated capacity. Agree the body, floor space, payload and loading order.
Part-load haulage can also be discussed where a suitable arrangement is available. Agree its collection window, delivery plan and handling before booking. For regular work, send your collection frequency, usual volumes, busy periods, site opening hours and return-load requirements.
Choose the body as well as the lorry size
Box and curtainsider
A box body uses its specified door opening and loading arrangement. A curtainsider can allow suitable forklift loading from the side. Check clear aperture, side access and restraint; curtains alone are not a universal load-securing system.
Flatbed, crane and mounted forklift
Long material, machinery or a delivery without a forklift may need a different body or handling method. A HIAB-type crane and MOFFETT-type forklift do different jobs. Supply load weights, lifting points or fork access, required reach and site photographs.
Temperature-controlled loads
Specify the product, required temperature, collection condition, packaging and monitoring or handover records. A refrigeration unit changes the vehicle specification; confirm its actual payload and space.
Articulated and specialist trailers
Curtainsider, box, refrigerated, flatbed and specialist trailer requirements are assessed individually. A long or heavy item needs its full dimensions, weight distribution and loading plan checked. The illustrated range does not establish suitability for every load.
Getting it off matters just as much
Confirm a forklift, loading dock, tail lift or other agreed equipment at both ends. For a tail-lift delivery, we need the individual item weight, footprint, all weight on the platform, permitted handling method, load centre and the surface beyond the lift.
When pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck. This is Synergix's booking requirement. Lower weights can also need powered handling. A tail lift and pallet truck do not automatically solve gravel, slopes, steps or an unsuitable pallet.
Timed deliveries and urgent haulage
A factory collection near Barlby Road, an industrial-unit delivery off Bawtry Road or a load for a site near Drax needs its own goods-in plan. Give the operator, gate, booking reference, individual weights and unloading equipment. Confirm the actual release and receiving windows before dispatch.
Urgent rigid or artic capacity can be assessed by our team. It does not carry the van collection estimate. Vehicle positioning, loading time, traffic, site appointments and applicable driver-hours limits determine the plan. UK, Ireland and European freight may also need ferry and goods-document arrangements.
Local work. Different requirements.
Transport shaped
by Selby.
Selby's food production, workshops and nearby energy and manufacturing sites create different transport needs. These examples explain the information needed to plan a movement, rather than claiming work for the named organisations.
Barlby Road
Food production and packaging
Greencore identifies its Selby site with ambient grocery production. Ingredients, packaging, replacement parts and finished stock each have different release and handling requirements.
Tell us the product and its packed condition, any hygiene or temperature requirements, pallet weights and factory booking reference. Ambient products do not automatically need a refrigerated vehicle; agree the required conditions for the actual goods.
Prospect Centre & local workshops
Components, tools and industrial supplies
The council's Prospect Centre is off Bawtry Road, outside the town centre. Its small workshop units illustrate why a supplier collection may involve a compact entrance and a named person rather than a warehouse dock.
For a component or tool, give its protective packaging and release time. For an assembly or machine, include its centre of gravity where known, fork access or lifting points, weight and clear loading aperture. Photos help identify awkward handling.
Drax & the surrounding area
Energy-site and maintenance handovers
Drax Power Station is an established nearby energy site. Maintenance supplies, tools and ordinary equipment can require a precise handover, with the authorised recipient and goods entrance agreed before a vehicle arrives.
Send the site order or booking reference, release time, packaged sizes, weight and receiving contact. State any security, induction or controlled-goods conditions. A public visitor address or tour arrangement is not a delivery permission.
Eggborough & nearby manufacturers
Glass and construction supply chains
Saint-Gobain's Eggborough plant confirms nearby glass manufacturing. Packaged glazing, fittings, racks and manufacturing components need protection and loading arrangements suited to their shape and finish.
Describe the actual load, transit rack or crate, fragility, individual weights and who supplies handling equipment. Loose sheets and specialist glass carriage need assessment; an ordinary pallet or curtainsider is not automatically suitable. Agree any rack return separately.
Selby town centre & surrounding villages
Retail, fit-out and event stock
Shop stock, printed material, display equipment and building supplies can have a short receiving window. A delivery to a shop doorway, venue service entrance or rural yard creates different unloading needs.
Give the unloading point, opening hours, steps, lifts and final placement. Discuss two-person handling when needed. For events, include set-up and collection slots, returned equipment and any stationary refrigeration requirement, separately from refrigerated transport.
Wider Selby area: Sherburn-in-Elmet
Civil aircraft maintenance supplies
Sherburn Engineering and the airfield operator describe fixed-wing aircraft maintenance at Sherburn-in-Elmet. This establishes nearby civil aviation activity; it does not establish a Selby defence-manufacturing cluster.
For ordinary packaged components, tools or equipment, give the maintenance contact, hangar or agreed landside handover, part description and supporting paperwork. Declare batteries, fluids or other regulated goods before acceptance. Transport is assessed individually and does not confer airfield access.
Local sector context: Council industrial-unit information and Greencore Selby and Sherburn aircraft-maintenance information. Named organisations provide local context, not claims of Synergix customers.

Routes, loading
& site access.
Selby collections can lie on either side of the Ouse, in the town centre or at a surrounding industrial site. Check the actual entrance, current road conditions and receiving instructions for the assigned vehicle.
A63, A19 and onward motorway routes
The A63 bypass and A19 form important approaches around Selby. Connections towards the M62 and wider road network are useful context, but the complete route must suit the vehicle's height, width, weight and turning needs.
Give the precise collection and delivery points. Avoid choosing a route from the postcode alone. A car map does not prove HGV access, and local instructions or signed restrictions may change the final approach.
River crossings and current works
The council identifies the A19 Toll Bridge and A63 Bypass Swing Bridge as Selby's immediate road crossings of the Ouse. Its 2026 funding work concerns proposed improvements, rather than proof that a replacement crossing is already available.
Check current council roadworks and closures before dispatch, alongside signed restrictions and the site's instructions. State which side of the river and which gate the driver needs. No bridge closure or unrestricted lorry access is assumed here.
Town-centre shops and deliveries
A retail address can be a customer entrance rather than the unloading point. Confirm the loading bay or service access, receiving window, vehicle limits and person accepting the goods.
Tell us about steps, narrow doors, upper floors and protected finishes. Loading restrictions and any bay suspension still apply. Agree onward handling and any extra crew before booking; a courier handover does not automatically include installation.
Barlby Road and industrial goods-in
For food production, warehouses and workshops, send the operator, unit, gate and loading reference. Confirm whether collection is from a dock, forklift point or smaller workshop entrance.
Check side-loading space, dock height, forklift capacity and pallet condition at both ends. Tell us whether an appointment, driver check-in or specific paperwork is required. Site rules must come from the operator receiving that particular load.
Energy sites and airfield suppliers
For a Drax-area or Sherburn airfield movement, obtain the authorised delivery instructions from the recipient. Identify the goods entrance or agreed landside handover, contact and required booking details.
Declare controlled goods and security conditions before acceptance. Visitor arrangements, an online map pin or the name of a site do not give the driver entry permission. Confirm any induction or escort with the responsible site team.
Villages, farms and weather conditions
Collections around Brayton, Barlow, Cawood and other surrounding villages can have a narrow lane, soft verge or uneven unloading area. Give the usable entrance width, turning space and a contact who can guide the arrival.
Send photos where useful and agree a suitable hard-standing handover. Check current weather and road notices before a fixed delivery slot. Council road-condition information includes the Selby bypass and A19 at Riccall.
Confirm the last few metres
Describe the ground, slope, kerb, steps, loading bay and final placement. Photos help with a narrow yard or awkward entrance. A tail lift lowers goods; it does not move a pallet over gravel, up steps or through a doorway.

What affects the price?
Vehicle positioning, loaded distance, vehicle/body type and time at collection and delivery all contribute. Waiting, additional stops, handling equipment, extra labour, route charges and a return journey can alter the quote.
For ferry or European work, route timing and goods-document requirements also matter. We quote the actual movement; there is no single Selby mileage price that fits every load.
What happens if something changes?
Tell us promptly about an extra pallet, heavier item, delayed release, changed entrance or missed slot. We can reassess the vehicle, deadline and cost before an unsuitable arrangement causes a problem.
An enquiry is the start of the conversation. Vehicle allocation, timing, handling and price are confirmed for the booking.

Selby and the surrounding area
The map centres on Selby in North Yorkshire, showing the town and Ouse crossing area. Barlby, Brayton and the surrounding villages help describe wider collections; the town view does not show every place served. Send both full addresses and the correct goods entrances when enquiring.
This is an area map. It does not mark a Synergix office, establish a fixed service boundary or provide HGV routing. Our team confirms collection, delivery and access for the job.

Before you book
Selby transport
questions answered.
Courier, timing and delivery
How quickly can you collect in Selby?
A van collection may be possible in around 45 minutes, subject to the exact address, goods and a suitable available vehicle. Call with the ready time and delivery deadline for an estimate. Lorries, refrigerated bodies and specialist equipment need their own positioning and availability check.
Can you deliver from Selby to another part of the UK on the same day?
It may be possible, depending on when the goods are released, loading time, vehicle position, distance, road conditions and the receiver’s latest acceptance time. Give us both addresses and the actual deadline. We assess the complete job before agreeing the delivery plan.
What can a dedicated courier carry?
Courier work can include documents, parts, samples, print, IT equipment, technical cases, boxed stock and suitable bulky or palletised goods. Give the packaged dimensions, quantities and individual weights so we can assess the vehicle, loading and receiving arrangements.
Will a dedicated courier load stay on the same vehicle?
It normally stays on the same vehicle between the agreed collection and delivery points, without a parcel-network sorting hub. Tell us about extra stops, returns or unusual route requirements so the arrangement is clear before booking.
Can I call at night or at the weekend?
Yes. Our phones are answered 24/7/365. Call to discuss the load and confirm a suitable vehicle and plan. Someone must be available to release the goods and accept them at the agreed times.
How will I receive delivery updates and proof of delivery?
Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available. Agree the updates and evidence you need when booking, including a named recipient, signature, photograph or delivery reference.
Haulage, vehicles and unloading
Do I need a courier or a haulage arrangement?
Start with the goods and deadline. An urgent part, technical case or suitable pallet may need a courier. Heavier freight, larger volumes, specialist bodies or repeat loads may need haulage. Send the load and site details and we will help you choose.
Can you arrange dedicated pallet transport in Selby?
Yes, we assess dedicated pallet movements with collection, delivery and a suitable vehicle agreed for the job. Send the loaded footprint, height, individual weights, quantity, stackability and loading at both ends. Synergix does not offer pallet-network services.
Can you discuss full loads, part loads and regular deliveries?
Yes. Full loads, regular haulage and supported part-load arrangements can be discussed. Agree the body, loading, collection window and delivery plan. Part-load availability is assessed individually; it is not a pallet-network product.
How do I choose a van or lorry, and can LoadCheck help?
Measure each item as it will travel, including packaging, the pallet and overhang. Enter packaged dimensions, weights and quantities into LoadCheck for an initial size estimate. Our team confirms actual fit, usable payload, apertures, restraint, equipment, access and availability.
What if the delivery site has no forklift?
Tell us before booking. A suitable tail lift, mounted forklift, crane or agreed crew may be an option, depending on the goods and site. Send item weights, dimensions, fork access or lifting points, ground conditions and final placement. These handling methods solve different problems and must be agreed.
When must I request an electric pump truck?
Under Synergix’s booking rule, request an electric pump truck when pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more. Lighter pallets may also need powered handling. Platform load, footprint, ground and the actual equipment still need checking.
Can you assess a crane or mounted-forklift delivery?
Yes. Send the precise goods, individual weights, dimensions, lifting points or fork access, required placement and photographs of the unloading area. Crane reach and support conditions differ from forklift access. Suitability, equipment and availability are confirmed for the job.
Can you arrange refrigerated transport or event refrigeration?
We can assess both, with the product, required temperature and handover agreed. Refrigerated transport moves goods under an agreed temperature arrangement. Stationary event refrigeration provides storage at a venue. Tell us which you need, the duration, access and any power requirement.
Selby access and local handovers
Can you collect from a Selby factory before its goods-in deadline?
We can assess the movement once the load is ready. Send the factory's collection entrance, release time, loading method and the receiver's latest acceptance time. An urgent part and a rigid-lorry load need different positioning and loading plans. We confirm achievable timing for the actual job.
Do I need to specify which Selby bridge the driver should use?
Give the full address and correct entrance, including which side of the Ouse it is on. Share the recipient's vehicle-appropriate approach if available. The route still needs its signed restrictions and current works checked. The area map is not HGV routing and proposed bridge improvements do not establish a new available crossing.
Can a tail lift deliver to a village or farm near Selby?
It depends on the load, lift, handling equipment and ground. Give the individual weight, pallet footprint, clear access and a level hard-standing unloading point. Gravel, slopes and soft ground can prevent pallet-truck movement. For pallet-truck handling of an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck under our booking rule.
Can you arrange transport for packaged glass or glazing?
Send the full sizes, individual weights, protective crate or rack, handling instructions and loading equipment at both ends. We assess the body and restraint needed for the actual goods. Loose glass or an unsupported rack must not be treated as a standard pallet job. Any return of racks or packaging needs agreeing in the quote.
Can you deliver equipment to Drax or a Sherburn airfield supplier?
We can assess an enquiry for accurately described goods. Get the authorised recipient's gate or landside handover, booking reference, ready time, deadline and site instructions. Explain any security or regulated-goods conditions before acceptance. A map pin, visitor entrance or general courier booking does not establish site permission.
Can you collect outside Selby town and deliver elsewhere in the UK?
Yes, we assess collections across the surrounding area with onward UK transport. Send both postcodes, the full site details and the packed load. A collection in Barlby, Brayton, Riccall or a nearby village still needs its access and receiving plan checked. The quote confirms the agreed vehicle, timing and price.
Price, booking and changes
What affects the price of a Selby courier or haulage job?
Vehicle positioning, route distance, body type, deadline, waiting, loading, extra stops, handling equipment and additional labour affect the quote. Send accurate goods and site details. We price the actual arrangement rather than applying one mileage rate to every load.
How do I book, and what happens if the job changes?
Request a quote or call with both addresses, packaged dimensions, individual and total weights, quantities, ready time, deadline, contacts and handling at both ends. We confirm the vehicle, plan and price for the booking. Tell us promptly about added goods, delayed release or a changed slot so we can reassess.
Can you discuss warehousing, retail distribution or two-person delivery?
Yes. Send the usual route, frequency, volumes, receiving windows and seasonal peaks. Warehousing, cross-docking, retail distribution and agreed two-person handling can be considered within a wider arrangement. Storage location, handling scope, availability and commercial terms are agreed separately.
