Explore the range

Your load.
The right vehicle.

Browse the van, rigid, articulated and specialist options, then open a vehicle guide for dimensions, body types and loading advice. You can ask for a particular vehicle or let us work from your load details.

Vehicle illustrations show example bodies. We confirm the actual vehicle, usable space, payload and equipment for your booking. Specialist configurations are subject to suitability and availability.

01 / Same-day & dedicated courier

A Stoke courier.
A direct delivery.

When a production line needs a replacement part, a shop is short of stock or an installation cannot continue without its tools, tell us the real deadline. We arrange a dedicated movement from the collection address to the agreed delivery point, without a parcel-network sorting hub.

Urgent business consignments

Documents, boxed components, samples, tools, print, display materials and equipment can need the same careful timing as a larger load. Give us the packaged dimensions and weight so we can match the vehicle to the goods.

Fragile ceramics, finished metalwork and electronic equipment need suitable protective packaging and restraint. Tell us about a non-stackable item, upright-only handling, a delicate finish or a return collection before we quote.

Pallets and larger dedicated loads

A same-day courier is not limited to envelopes and parcels. A pallet, bulky item or production shipment may need a large van, tail-lift body or dedicated lorry.

We check how it will be loaded and unloaded, including the individual pallet weight and the receiving surface. If the load needs a rigid, artic or specialist body, the haulage section explains the additional planning.

Collection timing starts with the actual job

Van collection in the Stoke area may be possible in around 45 minutes, subject to the collection point, load and vehicle availability. We will give you an estimate for your booking. This is collection timing, not a promise that every journey will be delivered within 45 minutes.

Goods must be packed, released and ready to load. A factory contact, correct entrance and receiving deadline let us plan the journey properly. Same-day suitability also depends on distance, traffic, handover time and the driver's available working time.

From the six towns to the UK

We arrange collections in Hanley, Burslem, Tunstall, Stoke, Fenton and Longton, plus nearby business parks and surrounding towns. Tell us the full postcode and business or unit name, rather than just “Stoke”.

Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Nottingham, London and more distant destinations are assessed against the same ready-time and deadline checks. European express movements need the goods, route, documents and customs responsibilities agreed in advance.

One contact, with updates

Our Stoke operations team remains your contact for the movement. Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available. Agree any named-recipient, signature, photograph or delivery-reference requirement when booking.

We also arrange scheduled supplier collections, branch transfers, repeat courier routes and out-of-hours deliveries. Our telephone service operates 24/7/365; vehicle availability is checked for the particular job.

02 / General & dedicated haulage

Stoke haulage.
Planned around the load.

For dedicated pallet transport, heavier engineering freight or a regular trailer movement, Synergix arranges the vehicle and driver around your load, handling and receiving requirements. Options include 7.5t, 18t and 26t rigids, full artics and suitable specialist configurations.

Dedicated pallet transport

Tell us the actual loaded footprint, height, weight and whether the freight can be stacked. A nominal pallet size does not include a crate, machine or packaging that projects beyond it.

We arrange a dedicated vehicle for your palletised goods, with collection, delivery and loading agreed for your job. Our team coordinates the movement and remains your point of contact. Tell us about fragile freight, specific handling or a timed delivery when booking.

Full loads, part loads and repeat work

A full vehicle can support larger consignments, stock transfers, production schedules and loads needing dedicated capacity. Agree the body, floor space, payload and loading order.

Part-load haulage can also be discussed where a suitable arrangement is available. Agree its collection window, delivery plan and handling before booking. For regular work, send your collection frequency, usual volumes, busy periods, site opening hours and return-load requirements.

Choose the body as well as the lorry size

Box and curtainsider

A box body uses its specified door opening and loading arrangement. A curtainsider can allow suitable forklift loading from the side. Check clear aperture, side access and restraint; curtains alone are not a universal load-securing system.

Flatbed, crane and mounted forklift

Long material, machinery or a delivery without a forklift may need a different body or handling method. A HIAB-type crane and MOFFETT-type forklift do different jobs. Supply load weights, lifting points or fork access, required reach and site photographs.

Temperature-controlled loads

Specify the product, required temperature, collection condition, packaging and monitoring or handover records. A refrigeration unit changes the vehicle specification; confirm its actual payload and space.

Articulated and specialist trailers

Curtainsider, box, refrigerated, flatbed and specialist trailer requirements are assessed individually. A long or heavy item needs its full dimensions, weight distribution and loading plan checked. The illustrated range does not establish suitability for every load.

Getting it off matters just as much

Confirm a forklift, loading dock, tail lift or other agreed equipment at both ends. For a tail-lift delivery, we need the individual item weight, footprint, all weight on the platform, permitted handling method, load centre and the surface beyond the lift.

When pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck. This is Synergix's booking requirement. Lower weights can also need powered handling. A tail lift and pallet truck do not automatically solve gravel, slopes, steps or an unsuitable pallet.

Read our tail-lift and pallet-truck guidance.

Timed deliveries and urgent haulage

A warehouse slot at Trentham Lakes, a factory shutdown or a construction delivery needs more than an arrival postcode. Send the booking reference, goods entrance, vehicle limits, loading method and a contact who can accept the load.

Urgent rigid or artic capacity can be assessed by our team. It does not carry the van collection estimate. Vehicle positioning, loading time, traffic, site appointments and applicable driver-hours limits determine the plan. UK, Ireland and European freight may also need ferry and goods-document arrangements.

Transport for the working Potteries

Local industry.
Practical advice.

Stoke's transport needs extend from ceramics and engineering to distribution, building products, retail and creative businesses. The useful question is what that means for your goods, their packaging and the handover at each site.

Ceramics & materials

From a protected sample to palletised finished goods

Traditional pottery and advanced ceramics remain part of the area's manufacturing base. Workshops and production premises around Burslem, Longton, Tunstall and Stoke can have very different despatch arrangements.

For samples or finished ware, specify protective cartons or crates, orientation and whether anything can be stacked. For denser materials, provide each pallet's weight as well as the total. Tell us about powders, liquids or any regulated material so acceptance and the appropriate transport can be checked.

Engineering & metalworking

Small urgent parts. Substantial freight.

Goodwin’s Ivy House foundry in Hanley is one example of Stoke’s continuing engineering activity. Its published defence material identifies machined casting work for defence programmes. A replacement component and a crated assembly need different vehicles, even when they come from the same industrial site.

Give the packed dimensions, centre of gravity where relevant, support points, fork pockets or agreed lifting points. Heavy weight concentrated on a small footprint needs assessment of the floor and handling equipment. Protect machined surfaces and explain any returnable stillage. Identify controlled goods, security conditions or special permissions before acceptance. Local defence activity does not imply a Synergix customer relationship, approval or clearance.

Warehousing & distribution

Etruria, Trentham Lakes and the A500 corridor

Etruria Valley is an established distribution location, with the Etruria Valley and Newport Lane links improving access to employment sites. Trentham Lakes and the wider A500 corridor are also useful reference points for local commercial movements.

A postcode can cover several businesses or entrances. Send the unit number, goods gate, collection reference, pallet count and loading slot. For retail replenishment or stock transfers, include labels, delivery sequence, receiving hours and any returns.

Building products & site work

Doors, fittings, tools and materials

Building-product manufacturing forms part of the local economy. Finished doors, frames, panels and fittings can need edge protection, stillages or upright handling rather than a standard pallet booking.

For a site delivery, confirm the ground, turning area, unloading team and where the goods must finish. If equipment must lift over an obstruction, supply distances and load weights. Do not assume that a delivery to the gate includes carrying goods to an upper floor or installation.

Retail, hospitality & events

Hanley, Festival Park and Trentham

Shop replenishment, restaurant supplies, event equipment and store refits can have narrow receiving windows. The Potteries Centre in Hanley and the Trentham retail area illustrate the different settings a delivery may need to reach.

Confirm the service entrance rather than the shopper car park, plus the recipient, stockroom access and handover time. For event refrigeration, agree dates, positioning, power and collection separately from any refrigerated delivery.

Food, technology & professional services

Use the product's requirements to plan the journey

Food manufacturing and digital businesses are also represented in the local economy. Ingredients, packaging, IT equipment, print and signed documents can all have different timing and handling needs.

Specify temperature or hygiene requirements, serial-number or named-recipient records, and any special packaging. Medical, laboratory, hazardous or otherwise regulated goods need their precise nature and transport requirements discussed before acceptance.

The last mile matters

Routes, entrances
& receiving times.

A500, M6 and A50

The A500 connects movements through the city with the M6, while the A50 is a key eastbound corridor towards Derby and the M1. The appropriate approach depends on the collection point, destination and vehicle.

For Etruria Valley, use the site's current goods-entry instructions. For Trentham Lakes or a stadium-area delivery, confirm the exact entrance and any event-day arrangements with the recipient. General driving directions do not establish an HGV-safe route.

Hanley and the town centres

City-centre retail streets, service yards and pedestrian areas need an agreed place and time to load. Give us access instructions from the business, including any timed restriction, permit or controlled entrance.

Check the current signs for the particular street. There is no single loading window we can apply to every Stoke town centre, and a shop's opening hours do not necessarily match its goods-in hours.

Residential streets and school areas

Some local roads have timed School Street restrictions. The council's published list includes roads around schools in Hanley, Packmoor, Oakhill and other districts. Whether access is permitted depends on the actual street, time and any applicable exemption.

For deliveries on these approaches, send the full address and preferred window early. Check the council's current School Streets information.

Factories, older yards and rural approaches

For premises around the six towns, a wide entrance does not establish enough space to turn or unload. Share height and width restrictions, ground condition, loading slope and photographs of awkward access.

Surrounding villages and Moorlands approaches may need a smaller vehicle or different handling arrangement. Check the complete approach and unloading area, including bridges or restrictions, rather than relying on the postcode alone.

Check current conditions before a timed movement

Roadworks and incidents change. Use the Stoke-on-Trent roadworks and closures information and official major-road traffic information when planning. We assess the job against the conditions and site information available; a map pin is not a loading instruction.

Across the six towns and beyond

Where is your
collection?

We arrange local collections and deliveries across Stoke-on-Trent, with onward UK and European transport assessed for the job. These area groups help describe the collection; the full address and postcode are what we need to book it.

The six towns

Hanley, Stoke, Burslem, Tunstall, Longton and Fenton.

Give the full address, unit and goods entrance. A town name alone can leave several possible collection points.

Central Stoke, Etruria and the west

Shelton, Etruria, Festival Park, Trent Vale, Penkhull, Hartshill and Basford.

For offices, retail parks and distribution premises, confirm the loading bay and receiving hours.

North Stoke and neighbouring districts

Sneyd Green, Smallthorne, Milton, Norton Green, Goldenhill, Chell, Sandyford, Packmoor, Kidsgrove and Talke.

Describe residential or industrial access, timed school restrictions where relevant and the unloading surface.

East and south Stoke

Abbey Hulton, Bentilee, Bucknall, Meir, Meir Park, Blurton, Dresden, Normacot, Weston Coyney, Adderley Green, Trentham and Trentham Lakes.

Factory yards, retail goods entrances and distribution appointments need the correct reference and site contact.

Newcastle-under-Lyme and nearby towns

Newcastle-under-Lyme, Wolstanton, Chesterton, Silverdale, Keele, Madeley, Audley and Bignall End.

Include university, campus or business-park building names where relevant, plus any controlled entry arrangements.

North Staffordshire, the Moorlands and Cheshire links

Alsager, Biddulph, Leek, Stone, Scholar Green, Mow Cop, Brown Edge, Endon, Werrington, Cheadle, Blythe Bridge, Tean, Crewe, Congleton and Stafford.

Collections beyond the city are arranged for the job. Supply approach restrictions and photographs for narrow lanes, slopes or awkward unloading areas.

A useful enquiry. A clearer quote.

Tell us the job.
We will help plan it.

  1. The two addressesCollection and delivery postcodes, company/unit names, goods entrances and a contact at each end.
  2. What needs movingGoods description, item or pallet count, packaged dimensions, total and individual weights, stackability and photographs where useful.
  3. When it is readyDate, ready time, latest arrival, goods-in closing time and any booked slot or reference. Identify fixed deadlines.
  4. How it will be handledForklift, dock, tail lift, pallet truck, crane or crew at both ends. Include surface, aperture and vehicle-access limits.
  5. Any special requirementFragile finish, temperature, regulated goods, multiple stops, returnable packaging, returns or agreed final placement.
  6. Updates and repeat workYour preferred contact, delivery evidence and, for regular transport, frequency, expected volumes and seasonal peaks.

What affects the price?

Vehicle positioning, loaded distance, vehicle/body type and time at collection and delivery all contribute. Waiting, additional stops, handling equipment, extra labour, route charges and a return journey can alter the quote.

For ferry or European work, route timing and goods-document requirements also matter. We quote the actual movement; there is no single Stoke mileage price that fits every load.

What happens if something changes?

Tell us promptly about an extra pallet, heavier item, delayed release, changed entrance or missed slot. We can reassess the vehicle, deadline and cost before an unsuitable arrangement causes a problem.

An enquiry is the start of the conversation. Vehicle allocation, timing, handling and price are confirmed for the booking.

Before you book

Stoke transport
questions answered.

Choosing the service and timing

Do I need a same-day courier or a haulage service?

Start with the load and deadline. A dedicated courier can carry an urgent parcel, component or suitable pallet directly to its destination. Heavier loads, several pallets, specialist bodies or repeat volumes may need a haulage arrangement. You can send the details without choosing a service first.

How quickly can you collect in Stoke-on-Trent?

A local van collection may be possible in around 45 minutes, subject to the address, load and vehicle availability. Call with the ready time and deadline for an estimate. Rigid, articulated and specialist vehicles need their own availability and positioning check.

Does same-day mean a guaranteed arrival time?

No arrival time is established just by requesting a same-day service. We assess the distance, ready time, loading, traffic, receiving hours and driver availability before confirming the plan. Tell us if missing the deadline would stop production, an installation or an event.

Can I book at night, at weekends or on a bank holiday?

Our phones are answered 24/7/365. Call to discuss the movement and confirm the vehicle and the opening or access arrangements at both ends. Out-of-hours collection depends on the particular job and available capacity.

Do you collect outside Stoke and deliver nationwide?

Yes. We arrange collections across the six towns and surrounding areas, with UK collection and delivery assessed for the job. Send both postcodes, not just the Stoke address. Ireland or European movements also need route, ferry and goods-document requirements checked.

Goods, vehicles and unloading

Can you move fragile pottery, samples or ceramic products?

Tell us exactly what is packed and how it must be handled. Protective cartons, crates or palletisation may be needed, with clear upright-only or non-stackable instructions. We check the vehicle and handling plan against the packaged goods. Carrying ceramics does not remove the need for suitable packaging.

Can you collect machinery, castings or engineering components?

We can assess the movement from the actual item details. Send dimensions, individual and total weights, photographs, support points and any fork pockets or approved lifting points. Concentrated weight, an off-centre load or a heavy assembly can require a specialist vehicle and a separate loading plan.

What dimensions and weights do you need?

Measure the goods as they will travel, including packaging, pallet, handles and any overhang. Give length, width and height for each different item, the quantity, each item weight and the total. State whether items can be stacked or turned. Vehicle gross-weight classes such as 7.5t are not the available payload.

Can I use LoadCheck before asking for a quote?

Yes. LoadCheck provides an initial size estimate from your entered load details. It does not confirm a vehicle booking, safe restraint, available payload or suitability of a particular body. Send the result with your enquiry and we will check the actual vehicle and handling requirements.

Open LoadCheck

What if there is no forklift at the collection or delivery?

Tell us before booking. A suitable tail lift, truck-mounted forklift, crane or agreed crew may be an option, but they solve different handling problems. We need the item weight, dimensions, lifting or fork access, ground conditions and final placement. Do not assume unloading equipment comes with every vehicle.

When do I need an electric pump truck?

For pallet-truck handling of an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck under Synergix booking guidance. A lower weight can also need powered handling. The pallet, slope, surface, tail-lift platform capacity and all equipment weight still need checking.

Can a driver move goods inside, upstairs or into position?

The delivery point, crew and handling must be agreed in advance. Transport to the address does not automatically include stairs, installation or movement across an unsuitable surface. Tell us about doors, lifts, distances and the required final position so we can assess two-person or specialist handling.

Can you move chilled goods or arrange event refrigeration?

Discuss the product, temperature range, packaging, volume and collection condition before booking refrigerated transport. Event refrigeration is a separate arrangement that needs dates, positioning, power and collection agreed. Ask us to assess the appropriate equipment and availability.

Can you carry hazardous or regulated goods?

Describe the exact goods and provide any classification, safety data or other relevant documentation before acceptance. We need to establish the suitable vehicle, equipment, driver and paperwork. A general courier or haulage enquiry is not confirmation that a regulated consignment is accepted.

Stoke access and regular work

What should I give you for a Hanley shop delivery?

Send the shop name, goods entrance, receiving contact and permitted delivery window. Tell us about a pedestrian area, controlled service yard or booking system. The customer entrance and public car park may be unsuitable for goods, and current street signs and site instructions need checking.

What do you need for Etruria Valley or Trentham Lakes?

Give the business and unit number, full postcode, goods gate, loading reference, slot and a contact who can release or receive the freight. Tell us the loading method and any vehicle restrictions. Large employment areas can have several access points, so the postcode alone may not identify the correct gate.

Can you collect from a narrow yard or a rural address?

Send the approach width and height limits, turning space, surface condition and photographs. We can assess whether a smaller vehicle or another arrangement is needed. A nominal postcode route does not establish safe access for a long rigid, artic or specialist body.

Can you handle regular pallets, retail routes or supplier collections?

Yes, we can discuss repeat transport as well as one-off jobs. Send the frequency, typical and peak volumes, ready times, delivery slots, loading arrangements and return requirements. Distribution, warehousing, cross-docking or two-person delivery can be considered where they fit the operation.

Are you based in Stoke-on-Trent?

Yes. Our head office and operations base is Unit 73, Enterprise Centre, Bedford Street, Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent, ST1 4PZ. The embedded Google map shows our business listing. Please telephone before visiting or bringing goods so the team can agree arrangements.

Price, booking and updates

How much does a Stoke courier or haulage job cost?

The quote depends on the actual movement: vehicle and body type, positioning, route, load, timing and handling. Waiting, extra stops, additional crew or equipment and route charges can change the cost. Send both postcodes, the packaged load details and your deadline for a useful quote.

Can I track the delivery and get proof it arrived?

Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available. Agree the update contact and any named-recipient, signature, photograph or delivery-reference requirement at booking. If a site requires particular evidence, tell us before the vehicle is allocated.

What if the load or delivery time changes after I book?

Contact the team promptly. Extra weight, another pallet, a new stop, a delayed release or a changed slot may affect the vehicle, plan and price. We will review the revised details and explain what can be arranged; a change is not automatically accepted until confirmed.

What cover applies to valuable or fragile goods?

Tell us the goods description and declared value before booking, including any unusual fragility. Ask the team to confirm the applicable carriage terms, cover, limits and exclusions for the particular movement. Do not assume every consignment or value is covered in the same way.
