01 / Same-day & dedicated courier
Birmingham courier.
A direct delivery.
A production stoppage, missing print delivery or urgent stock transfer needs a clear collection and receiving plan. We arrange dedicated courier movements from Birmingham between the agreed points, without a parcel-network sorting hub. The right vehicle follows the goods and the actual deadline.
Parts, tooling and protected equipment
A packaged engineering component, production tool, IT unit or sample can need a direct journey. For a collection in Aston, Witton or Erdington, provide the unit, release contact and ready time, along with dimensions and weights.
Protect finished surfaces and delicate parts. Identify upright-only handling, non-stackable packaging and any named-recipient requirement. Dedicated transport still needs appropriate packaging and restraint.
Stock, print and suitable pallets
Urgent retail stock, signs, exhibition cases and a suitable pallet can all be courier consignments. Give the packed size, total weight and any overhang, rather than describing everything as a parcel.
For a city-centre delivery, explain the service entrance, receiving slot and lawful unloading point. Larger loads, heavier pallets or specialised handling may need the haulage arrangement below.
Ready time, vehicle and receiving deadline
A van collection in Birmingham may be possible in around 45 minutes, subject to the actual location, goods and suitable vehicle availability. Call for an estimate for your job. Rigids, artics and specialist equipment need a separate availability check.
A Birmingham-to-London request late in the day has to account for collection readiness, loading, traffic and the receiver’s closing time. For a short stock transfer, a difficult city-centre handover can be the decisive part of the job. Give the actual latest acceptance time before booking.
Local collection and onward UK delivery
We assess collections across the city centre, Aston, Witton, Erdington, Tyseley, Digbeth and other Birmingham districts. For a campus, retail centre or industrial unit, send the correct goods entrance and receiving contact. Nearby Solihull, the NEC and Birmingham Airport are separate destinations requiring their own address and instructions.
The ready time, route and latest receiving time determine whether a same-day movement is achievable. European work also needs goods documents and customs responsibilities agreed. A collection estimate is not a delivery guarantee.
Updates and repeat collections
Our team remains your point of contact. Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available; agree the recipient, updates and any signature, photograph or reference requirement when booking.
Scheduled supplier runs, stock transfers and out-of-hours enquiries can also be discussed. Our phones are answered 24/7/365. Timing, vehicle allocation and site access are confirmed for the booking.
02 / General & dedicated haulage
Birmingham haulage.
Planned around the load.
For dedicated pallet transport, heavier engineering freight or a regular trailer movement, Synergix arranges the vehicle and driver around your load, handling and receiving requirements. Options include 7.5t, 18t and 26t rigids, full artics and suitable specialist configurations.
Dedicated pallet transport
Tell us the actual loaded footprint, height, weight and whether the freight can be stacked. A nominal pallet size does not include a crate, machine or packaging that projects beyond it.
We arrange a dedicated vehicle for your palletised goods, with collection, delivery and loading agreed for your job. Our team coordinates the movement and remains your point of contact. Tell us about fragile freight, specific handling or a timed delivery when booking.
Full loads, part loads and repeat work
A full vehicle can support larger consignments, stock transfers, production schedules and loads needing dedicated capacity. Agree the body, floor space, payload and loading order.
Part-load haulage can also be discussed where a suitable arrangement is available. Agree its collection window, delivery plan and handling before booking. For regular work, send your collection frequency, usual volumes, busy periods, site opening hours and return-load requirements.
Choose the body as well as the lorry size
Box and curtainsider
A box body uses its specified door opening and loading arrangement. A curtainsider can allow suitable forklift loading from the side. Check clear aperture, side access and restraint; curtains alone are not a universal load-securing system.
Flatbed, crane and mounted forklift
Long material, machinery or a delivery without a forklift may need a different body or handling method. A HIAB-type crane and MOFFETT-type forklift do different jobs. Supply load weights, lifting points or fork access, required reach and site photographs.
Temperature-controlled loads
Specify the product, required temperature, collection condition, packaging and monitoring or handover records. A refrigeration unit changes the vehicle specification; confirm its actual payload and space.
Articulated and specialist trailers
Curtainsider, box, refrigerated, flatbed and specialist trailer requirements are assessed individually. A long or heavy item needs its full dimensions, weight distribution and loading plan checked. The illustrated range does not establish suitability for every load.
Getting it off matters just as much
Confirm a forklift, loading dock, tail lift or other agreed equipment at both ends. For a tail-lift delivery, we need the individual item weight, footprint, all weight on the platform, permitted handling method, load centre and the surface beyond the lift.
When pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck. This is Synergix's booking requirement. Lower weights can also need powered handling. A tail lift and pallet truck do not automatically solve gravel, slopes, steps or an unsuitable pallet.
Timed deliveries and urgent haulage
A booked industrial collection in Tyseley, a factory shutdown or a construction delivery needs more than an arrival postcode. Send the booking reference, goods entrance, vehicle limits, loading method and a contact who can accept the load.
Urgent rigid or artic capacity can be assessed by our team. It does not carry the van collection estimate. Vehicle positioning, loading time, traffic, site appointments and applicable driver-hours limits determine the plan. UK, Ireland and European freight may also need ferry and goods-document arrangements.
Local work. Different requirements.
Transport shaped
by Birmingham.
Birmingham’s commercial movements include aircraft components, clean-energy equipment and stock for shops, offices and events. The named organisations establish local context, not Synergix customer relationships. The transport examples help identify the goods, handling and receiving details needed for an enquiry.
Erdington / aircraft supply chains
Aerospace tyres and production supplies
Dunlop Aircraft Tyres identifies its head office in Erdington and publishes products for civil and military aircraft. This establishes a local aerospace and defence-supply context, not a Synergix customer relationship.
Tyres, production materials, tooling or packaged components need an exact description, dimensions, weights and handling requirements. Identify any controlled goods or security conditions before acceptance. Agree the receiving person and site instructions.
East Birmingham / energy innovation
Tyseley equipment and project movements
TEP Birmingham, formerly Tyseley Energy Park, brings together clean-energy infrastructure, businesses and research. Project equipment can differ sharply in size, weight and handling, even within the same delivery.
A crated instrument, pump or demonstration unit needs packed dimensions, lifting or fork access and the final placement agreed. Declare batteries, chemicals or other goods needing a separate assessment; an energy-sector address does not establish acceptance.
Industrial units / supplier collections
Engineering and trade materials
A supplier collection around Aston, Witton or Tyseley may involve a boxed part, fabricated item, pallet or machine. These are examples of enquiries, rather than claims of completed Synergix work.
Tell us whether loading is by forklift, dock or another agreed method. Heavy machinery needs individual weights and handling points; long metal goods need their complete length, protection and restraint requirements.
City centre / retail receiving
Stock, display materials and shop fittings
A city-centre delivery may reach a service yard rather than the public storefront. Display panels and fittings can use substantial floor space even when relatively light.
Give the unloading window, goods entrance and final handover point. Include lift dimensions, steps, thresholds and walking distances when relevant. Two-person handling and installation are separate tasks to agree.
Venues / scheduled handovers
Print, exhibitions and event equipment
Cases, stand materials, print and replenishment stock can have a fixed handover time. A Birmingham city-centre venue and the NEC near the airport have different entrances and organiser procedures.
Send the venue, event, hall or stand, delivery reference and current event manual. Confirm unloading, empty packaging and return collection. Stationary event refrigeration needs its own positioning and hire plan.
Edgbaston / institutional receiving
Research and healthcare-supplier goods
Equipment or consumables for a campus or healthcare supplier need an authorised recipient and the correct department. A reception desk and a goods-in point can be in different buildings.
Explain the actual goods and any fragile, temperature or specialist requirements. Agree acceptance before dispatch. Do not book a clinical specimen or regulated consignment as ordinary freight without telling the team.

Routes, loading
& site access.
The M6, M5 and M42 connect Birmingham with the wider network, but the last street and receiving point still determine the job. City-centre access, the Clean Air Zone, loading signs and private goods-in rules need separate checks.
Clean Air Zone inside the Middleway
Birmingham’s Clean Air Zone covers the city centre inside the A4540 Middleway, excluding the Middleway itself, and operates all day. Check the actual vehicle and route before dispatch; a delivery is not a general exemption.
Use Brum Breathes and the vehicle checker for current guidance. Supply the complete destination and goods entrance. Payment or compliance does not grant access through other restricted streets.
City-centre loading points
Birmingham City Council publishes a directory of city-centre loading bays. Different streets have their own signs and operating conditions. Obtain a lawful approach and unloading point for the specific business.
Send the service-yard entrance, loading time and recipient instructions. A shop’s opening hours do not define a loading window. Check signs on arrival and avoid relying on an old route or a public-front-door map pin.
Industrial collections and large vehicles
For Aston, Witton, Erdington or Tyseley, identify the unit and goods gate before choosing the approach. The useful vehicle must fit the entrance and have space to turn, load and leave.
Give height, width or weight restrictions and the loading method. Confirm HGV access with the site. A motorway connection or a car route does not prove suitability for an artic or specialist vehicle.
City venues and the NEC
Venue manuals and event references take precedence over visitor parking information. The NEC’s exhibitor guidance describes separate delivery arrangements; it is outside Birmingham city centre.
For any event, confirm the current build-up or breakdown instructions, booked arrival, entrance and unloading crew. Different stages of the same event can use different procedures. Do not apply one show’s instructions to another.
Airport and controlled handovers
Birmingham Airport is a separate location near Solihull. Give the handling agent, exact unit, cargo reference and confirmed release or acceptance time for a freight movement.
Clarify whether collection is landside and who arranges controlled access or clearance. A road booking does not automatically provide airside entry or customs services. Passenger-terminal directions are not goods-in instructions.
Readiness, traffic and receiving time
Roadworks, events and peak traffic can change the available time and approach. Check the recipient’s current instructions and official traffic information.
A timed load needs realistic loading and unloading allowances, a contact at both ends and the driver’s available working time. Tell us promptly if the goods are delayed or the receiving appointment changes.
Birmingham and surrounding collection areas
Where is your
collection?
We assess collections and deliveries across Birmingham and nearby places, with onward UK transport. These are coverage areas, not Synergix offices. Supply the full address, postcode, unit and goods entrance.
Central Birmingham
City centre, Digbeth, Jewellery Quarter and surrounding commercial streets.
Give the lawful loading point or service yard, receiving window and exact business entrance.
North and east Birmingham
Aston, Witton, Erdington, Nechells, Hodge Hill, Bordesley and Tyseley.
Industrial enquiries need the unit, goods gate, loading method and vehicle limits.
South and west Birmingham
Edgbaston, Selly Oak, Harborne, Kings Heath, Moseley and Kings Norton.
Campus, retail and local-business collections are assessed from the full address and packaged load.
Wider West Midlands connections
Sutton Coldfield, Solihull, Coleshill, West Bromwich, Walsall, Dudley and Coventry.
These are surrounding coverage enquiries, not Birmingham neighbourhoods or Synergix offices. Each site and onward journey is checked individually.

What affects the price?
Vehicle positioning, loaded distance, vehicle/body type and time at collection and delivery all contribute. Waiting, additional stops, handling equipment, extra labour, route charges and a return journey can alter the quote.
For ferry or European work, route timing and goods-document requirements also matter. We quote the actual movement; there is no single Birmingham mileage price that fits every load.
What happens if something changes?
Tell us promptly about an extra pallet, heavier item, delayed release, changed entrance or missed slot. We can reassess the vehicle, deadline and cost before an unsuitable arrangement causes a problem.
An enquiry is the start of the conversation. Vehicle allocation, timing, handling and price are confirmed for the booking.

Before you book
Birmingham transport
questions answered.
Courier, timing and delivery
How quickly can you collect in Birmingham?
A van collection may be possible in around 45 minutes, subject to the address, goods and a suitable available vehicle. Call with the ready time and deadline for an estimate. Lorries, refrigerated vehicles and specialist equipment need their own availability and positioning check.
Can you deliver from Birmingham elsewhere in the UK today?
It may be possible, depending on when the goods are ready, loading time, vehicle position, road conditions and the receiver’s latest acceptance time. Give us both addresses and the actual deadline. We assess the complete movement before confirming a plan.
Will my dedicated courier delivery stay on the same vehicle?
A dedicated courier movement normally stays on the same vehicle between the agreed collection and delivery points, without a parcel-network sorting hub. Tell us about additional stops, a return collection or any unusual route requirement so the arrangement is clear before booking.
Can I call at night, at weekends or on bank holidays?
Yes. Our phones are answered 24/7/365. Call to discuss the movement and confirm the suitable vehicle, handling and receiving arrangements. Someone must be available to release the goods and accept them at the proposed times.
How will I know the goods have been delivered?
Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available. Agree the updates and receiving evidence you need when booking, including any named-recipient, signature, photograph or delivery reference requirement.
What happens if collection is delayed or the delivery slot changes?
Contact our team promptly. A later release, changed receiving slot or additional waiting can affect the vehicle, driver schedule, arrival plan and cost. Give us the new ready time and receiver’s instructions so we can reassess the movement.
Haulage, vehicles and handling
Do I need a courier or a haulage service?
Start with what needs moving and the deadline. An urgent component, parcel or suitable pallet may need a dedicated courier. Heavier freight, larger volumes, specialist bodies or repeat work may need a haulage arrangement. Send the load details and we will help you choose.
Can you arrange dedicated pallet transport in Birmingham?
Yes, we assess dedicated pallet movements with the vehicle, collection and delivery agreed for the job. Send the loaded footprint, height, individual weights, quantity, stackability and unloading arrangements. Synergix does not offer pallet-network services.
Can you arrange full loads, part loads and regular haulage?
We can discuss full loads, regular work and supported part-load arrangements. The collection window, delivery plan, body, loading method and availability must suit the job. A part-load enquiry is assessed individually; it is not a pallet-network product.
How do I choose the right van or lorry?
Measure each item as it will travel, including packaging, the pallet and any overhang. Give the quantity, individual and total weights, stackability and any orientation limit. We check the actual load space, aperture, working payload, equipment and site access. Vehicle gross weight is not cargo payload.
Can I use LoadCheck before asking for a quote?
Yes. Enter packaged dimensions, item weights and quantities for an initial vehicle-size estimate. Send the result with your enquiry. LoadCheck does not confirm actual vehicle fit, restraint, loading equipment, payload, availability or a booking.
What if the receiving site has no forklift?
Tell us before booking. A suitable tail lift, mounted forklift, crane or agreed handling crew may be an option, but they solve different problems. We need the item weights, dimensions, fork access or lifting points, surface and final placement. Equipment does not come with every vehicle.
When must I request an electric pump truck?
Under Synergix’s booking rule, request an electric pump truck when pallet-truck handling is required for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more. Lighter pallets can need powered handling too. Check the lift and platform capacity, footprint, all weight on the platform, ground and handling method. The threshold is not automatic proof of safe handling.
Do goods need packaging for a dedicated journey?
Yes, they need packaging suitable for the goods and the planned handling. A dedicated vehicle does not remove the risk of movement during loading and travel. Protect fragile surfaces, sharp edges and delicate equipment; tell us about upright-only, non-stackable or special restraint requirements.
Can you provide refrigerated transport or event refrigeration?
We can assess both, with the product, temperature and handover requirements agreed. Refrigerated road transport moves goods under an agreed temperature arrangement. Stationary event refrigeration provides storage at a venue. Explain which you need, the duration, access and any power requirement.
Birmingham access and local handovers
Will a city-centre delivery need a Clean Air Zone check?
Yes. Birmingham’s zone covers the area inside, but not including, the A4540 Middleway. Check the assigned vehicle and actual route against current official guidance. A compliant vehicle or payment does not remove loading restrictions, bus gates or private site-entry conditions.
Can you unload outside my city-centre shop?
It depends on the lawful loading point, vehicle and receiving arrangements. Send the service-yard entrance or signed loading bay, permitted window, site contact and final handover point. The council’s bay directory helps locate options, but the actual signs and current conditions must be checked.
What should I send for an Erdington engineering collection?
Give the supplier, exact unit, release reference, ready time and receiving deadline, plus packed dimensions, individual weights and handling instructions. Identify controlled goods or security requirements before acceptance. A named manufacturer is local context, not evidence of a Synergix contract or approval.
Is an NEC delivery the same as a Birmingham city-centre delivery?
No. The NEC is near Birmingham Airport, outside the city centre. Supply the event, hall or stand, booked delivery slot, entrance and current organiser instructions. Confirm unloading and return collection separately; visitor parking directions are not exhibitor goods-in instructions.
Can you collect in Tyseley and deliver elsewhere in the UK?
We assess local collections and onward UK movements, including industrial units in Tyseley. Send the exact goods entrance, ready time, packed load, loading equipment and recipient’s latest acceptance time. Collection and delivery timing depend on a suitable available vehicle and the complete job.
Price, booking and ongoing work
What affects the price of a Birmingham courier or haulage job?
Vehicle positioning, route distance, body and vehicle type, waiting, unloading, handling equipment, additional stops and the deadline affect the quote. Give accurate load and site details. Tell us about changes before dispatch so we can explain any effect on the arrangement or price.
What information do you need to book?
Send both full addresses and goods entrances, contact details, ready time and latest delivery time, item quantities, packaged dimensions, individual and total weights, stackability and loading equipment at both ends. Include access restrictions, references, photographs and any special handling or temperature requirement.
Can you discuss regular deliveries, warehousing or two-person work?
Yes. Give your usual route, frequency, volumes, receiving windows and seasonal peaks. Warehousing, cross-docking, retail distribution and agreed two-person delivery can be considered as part of a wider arrangement. Storage location, handling scope, availability and commercial terms are agreed separately.
Does sending an enquiry confirm my booking?
No. An enquiry starts the discussion. The vehicle, collection and delivery plan, handling, price and booking acceptance must be confirmed. A generated enquiry reference or LoadCheck result does not establish vehicle allocation or successful email delivery.
