01 / Same-day & dedicated courier
Plymouth courier.
A direct delivery.
If a missing component is holding up production, an event is waiting for its equipment or a customer needs stock today, call with the actual deadline. We arrange dedicated collection and delivery between the agreed points, without a parcel-network sorting hub.
Urgent business consignments
Documents, engineering parts, samples, tools, print, boxed stock and IT equipment can all need a dedicated courier. The smallest suitable vehicle depends on the packaged goods, not the label “parcel”. Send the quantity, dimensions and weights.
A server, delicate prototype or finished component needs packaging that protects it during loading and travel. Tell us if it must stay upright, cannot be stacked or needs a named recipient.
Pallets and bulky items
Courier work can include a suitable pallet or bulky consignment. We check the vehicle aperture, usable space, payload and unloading method. A pallet does not automatically fit a van just because it fits on the floor.
For heavier loads, several pallets or specialised unloading, see the haulage guidance. You can enquire without choosing the lorry first.
How quickly can we collect?
A Plymouth van collection may be possible in around 45 minutes, subject to the address, goods and a suitable available vehicle. Call for an estimate for your actual job. A rigid, artic, refrigerated body or specialist handling arrangement needs its own availability check.
Collection speed is only part of the plan. Tell us when the goods will be released, how long loading will take and the receiver’s latest acceptance time. A packaged engineering component needs its release contact and receiving slot confirmed, while a central shop's delivery depends on lawful access and a crossing into East Cornwall needs the current bridge or ferry conditions checked.
Plymouth collections and onward UK delivery
A Plymouth collection may involve a manufacturer around the north of the city, a Plympton business unit, a waterfront supplier or a central shop. Give the actual company, unit or building, goods entrance, release contact and ready time. A port, dockyard or estate name is not a complete receiving instruction.
For packaged components, tooling, documents, equipment or replenishment stock, send dimensions, weights, packaging and the receiving deadline. Explain value, fragility and any security or handling conditions before acceptance. City-centre restrictions, controlled premises and a Tamar crossing can each affect the handover plan.
Updates, proof of delivery and repeat work
Our team remains your contact for the movement. Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available; agree any named-recipient, signature, photograph or reference requirements when booking.
We also assess scheduled supplier collections, branch transfers, multi-stop work and repeat courier routes. Phones are answered 24/7/365. The vehicle, crew and access at each end are confirmed for the booking.
02 / General & dedicated haulage
Plymouth haulage.
Planned around the load.
For dedicated pallet transport, heavier engineering freight or a regular trailer movement, Synergix arranges the vehicle and driver around your load, handling and receiving requirements. Options include 7.5t, 18t and 26t rigids, full artics and suitable specialist configurations.
Dedicated pallet transport
Tell us the actual loaded footprint, height, weight and whether the freight can be stacked. A nominal pallet size does not include a crate, machine or packaging that projects beyond it.
We arrange a dedicated vehicle for your palletised goods, with collection, delivery and loading agreed for your job. Our team coordinates the movement and remains your point of contact. Tell us about fragile freight, specific handling or a timed delivery when booking.
Full loads, part loads and repeat work
A full vehicle can support larger consignments, stock transfers, production schedules and loads needing dedicated capacity. Agree the body, floor space, payload and loading order.
Part-load haulage can also be discussed where a suitable arrangement is available. Agree its collection window, delivery plan and handling before booking. For regular work, send your collection frequency, usual volumes, busy periods, site opening hours and return-load requirements.
Choose the body as well as the lorry size
Box and curtainsider
A box body uses its specified door opening and loading arrangement. A curtainsider can allow suitable forklift loading from the side. Check clear aperture, side access and restraint; curtains alone are not a universal load-securing system.
Flatbed, crane and mounted forklift
Long material, machinery or a delivery without a forklift may need a different body or handling method. A HIAB-type crane and MOFFETT-type forklift do different jobs. Supply load weights, lifting points or fork access, required reach and site photographs.
Temperature-controlled loads
Specify the product, required temperature, collection condition, packaging and monitoring or handover records. A refrigeration unit changes the vehicle specification; confirm its actual payload and space.
Articulated and specialist trailers
Curtainsider, box, refrigerated, flatbed and specialist trailer requirements are assessed individually. A long or heavy item needs its full dimensions, weight distribution and loading plan checked. The illustrated range does not establish suitability for every load.
Getting it off matters just as much
Confirm a forklift, loading dock, tail lift or other agreed equipment at both ends. For a tail-lift delivery, we need the individual item weight, footprint, all weight on the platform, permitted handling method, load centre and the surface beyond the lift.
When pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck. This is Synergix's booking requirement. Lower weights can also need powered handling. A tail lift and pallet truck do not automatically solve gravel, slopes, steps or an unsuitable pallet.
Timed deliveries and urgent haulage
For industrial equipment, palletised stock or a regular distribution load in Plymouth, confirm the body type, loaded dimensions, individual weights and loading equipment at both ends. A Belliver unit, a Plympton yard and a waterfront receiving point need different approach, unloading and appointment details.
Urgent rigid or artic capacity can be assessed by our team. It does not carry the van collection estimate. Vehicle positioning, loading time, traffic, site appointments and applicable driver-hours limits determine the plan. UK, Ireland and European freight may also need ferry and goods-document arrangements.
Local work. Different requirements.
Transport shaped
by Plymouth.
Plymouth's industrial work includes naval engineering, evidenced defence vehicle production, yacht building and medical-technology manufacturing, alongside commercial port and retail activity. Those settings need different goods descriptions, handling arrangements and authorised receiving instructions.
Naval engineering and defence manufacturing
Devonport work, with the current context
Babcock's current Plymouth information identifies naval maintenance and refitting at Devonport. Its July 2026 update separately reports completion of the Jackal 3 vehicle build programme there with Supacat. That is verified defence manufacturing history, rather than a claim that the same production programme is still running today.
For ordinary tooling, packaged components or engineering equipment, give the authorised receiver, precise goods gate, release reference and slot. Explain security, controlled-goods and handling conditions before acceptance. The particular job needs assessment; a courier or haulage booking does not grant secure-site access.
Marine manufacturing
Yacht components and workshop equipment
Princess Yachts' current company story identifies Plymouth as its yacht-building home, and its contact information gives Newport Street. Marine components, fittings and workshop equipment can vary substantially in shape, weight and protection needs.
Name the actual site or supplier and goods entrance for the movement. Give packaged dimensions, individual weights, handling points and any stacking limits. A yacht-manufacturing enquiry is not automatically a whole-vessel transport job; explain exactly what needs moving and how it will be loaded.
Medical-technology manufacturing
Belliver premises and production supplies
BD's current UK locations page identifies manufacturing at Belliver Industrial Estate on Belliver Way in Plymouth. That provides a specific industrial location for production-support and packaged-equipment enquiries, distinct from a hospital or patient delivery.
Describe the actual goods, protective packaging, value and any cleanliness, temperature or controlled-handling requirements before acceptance. Confirm the authorised release and receiving contacts, unit, slot and unloading equipment. A medical-sector address does not establish that every consignment has the same transport conditions.
Commercial port and onward road loads
Millbay goods and release arrangements
ABP's current Plymouth information identifies Millbay Docks as a commercial port handling industrial cargo alongside ferry activity. A freight release or booked port handover has different instructions from public ferry passenger directions.
Give the port operator or agent, goods reference, release status, current gate, appointment and loading method. Confirm the onward road load, weights and dimensions. Any customs, controlled-goods or special handling requirements need to be explained before acceptance; public port information does not grant access.
Retail and regular business work
Stock, displays and repeat loads
Central shops, hospitality businesses and trade premises around Plymouth can need urgent replenishment or a scheduled stock movement. Confirm the actual shop or unit, service entrance and lawful loading point, particularly where pedestrian-area restrictions apply.
For repeat loads, give the normal quantities, frequency, seasonal peaks, return goods and receiving slots. We can discuss retail distribution, warehousing and cross-docking alongside general haulage. Two-person carrying and final placement must be agreed separately.
Events and equipment support
Venue handovers and refrigeration
For an event, exhibition or venue equipment load in Plymouth, identify the organiser, actual venue and agreed service gate. The delivery plan needs build-up and breakdown timings, vehicle limits, unloading equipment and crew.
Stationary event refrigeration needs an agreed position, power supply and access for delivery and collection. A moving temperature-controlled consignment needs its own goods and temperature specification. Public visitor directions or event parking are not contractor receiving instructions.
Local sector context: Babcock's Devonport engineering context and July 2026 Jackal programme completion and Princess Yachts' Plymouth manufacturing and BD's Plymouth manufacturing location and ABP's Millbay port information. Named organisations provide local context, not claims of Synergix customers.

Routes, loading
& site access.
The A38 connects Plymouth with the wider road network, but the last part of the job still needs a permitted approach and suitable unloading. Check the specific city-centre, industrial, waterfront or cross-Tamar receiving arrangement.
City-centre pedestrian streets and service yards
The council's September 2026 made-order documents restrict general motor-vehicle entry on specified city-centre lengths outside 4am to 8am, with permit provisions. Old Town Street and the specified New George Street section have no waiting or loading restrictions as well. Entry during that window is not permission to unload anywhere on the street.
Confirm the shop's lawful service yard or loading bay and current signs. Use the council's approved orders and current restriction resources. Check any permit requirement with the council and receiver. Earlier experimental-order news is not the full current instruction.
Devonport and controlled premises
Give the actual organisation, current goods gate, authorised receiver, reference and booked slot. Explain security or controlled-goods conditions before acceptance. Separate public contact information from the instructions for a particular delivery.
Confirm any site-required passes, induction, escort or screening with the authorised contact. Describe the actual packaged goods, handling and loading equipment. A visitor event, manufacturer address or transport booking does not provide access to a controlled facility.
Belliver, Estover and Plympton units
For a manufacturing or trade load, give the company, unit, road and goods entrance. Explain the permitted approach, entrance height and width, turning space and receiving slot. A showroom or office entrance may differ from warehouse or production receiving.
Confirm forklift, dock or other loading equipment at both ends, plus individual pallet and crate weights. Check the surface and room to operate. Langage and wider industrial-area enquiries need the particular unit and current instructions, rather than an estate postcode alone.
Millbay and waterfront handovers
For a commercial port load, use the operator or agent's current release and gate instructions. Give the reference, appointment, vehicle details, loaded dimensions and loading equipment. Public ferry passenger directions are not a freight collection authorisation.
For other waterfront premises, identify the actual service entrance and lawful unloading point. Describe narrow access, ground surface, steps and the final movement from vehicle to handover. Do not assume different dock, marina or shipyard facilities share one receiving gate.
Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry planning
For a Saltash, Torpoint or other East Cornwall job, identify the intended crossing and check the operator's current status and vehicle toll information. Vehicle class, trailer configuration and crossing conditions matter to the plan. A ferry queue can affect a receiving slot.
Oversized or heavy movements need the operator's abnormal-load restrictions and notification checks. Send loaded height, width, length and gross weight as well as cargo weight. Bridge permission is a separate check from final-site suitability.
Pallet weight and unloading equipment
Send each loaded pallet's footprint, overhang and weight. Confirm forklift or dock availability, or request the tail lift and pallet-truck arrangement needed for the job. Describe the surface and final movement from vehicle to handover.
If pallet-truck handling is required for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck under Synergix's booking rule. Lighter pallets can need powered handling too. That request does not replace platform, footprint, load-centre or access checks.
Confirm the last few metres
Describe the ground, slope, kerb, steps, loading bay and final placement. Photos help with a narrow yard or awkward entrance. A tail lift lowers goods; it does not move a pallet over gravel, up steps or through a doorway.
Plymouth and surrounding areas
Where is your
collection?
We assess collections and deliveries across Plymouth and the surrounding area, with onward UK transport. These groups help describe the job. They are coverage areas, not Synergix branch locations or fixed service boundaries.
Central Plymouth and waterfront businesses
City centre, the Hoe, Barbican, Stonehouse, Millbay and surrounding retail, hospitality and commercial enquiries.
Confirm the actual goods entrance, lawful loading point and slot. Different waterfront operators have separate receiving arrangements.
West Plymouth engineering enquiries
Devonport, Keyham, Stoke, St Budeaux, Ernesettle and surrounding premises.
Name the particular organisation and goods gate. Any controlled-site requirements must be explained and agreed before acceptance.
North Plymouth business addresses
Belliver, Roborough, Estover, Crownhill, Derriford and surrounding manufacturing, office and commercial enquiries.
Give the company or department, unit, current entrance and unloading arrangement. A medical address does not define the goods.
East Plymouth and industrial-area work
Plympton, Langage-area businesses, Coypool, Plymstock and surrounding addresses.
Send the permitted approach, particular unit, vehicle limits and receiving slot. Check the operating surface and turning space.
Surrounding and cross-Tamar enquiries
Saltash, Torpoint, Ivybridge, Yelverton and other surrounding Devon or East Cornwall addresses.
These are coverage enquiries, not branches or fixed boundaries. Give full postcodes, rural access and any crossing or final-site constraints.

What affects the price?
Vehicle positioning, loaded distance, vehicle/body type and time at collection and delivery all contribute. Waiting, additional stops, handling equipment, extra labour, route charges and a return journey can alter the quote.
For ferry or European work, route timing and goods-document requirements also matter. We quote the actual movement; there is no single Plymouth mileage price that fits every load.
What happens if something changes?
Tell us promptly about an extra pallet, heavier item, delayed release, changed entrance or missed slot. We can reassess the vehicle, deadline and cost before an unsuitable arrangement causes a problem.
An enquiry is the start of the conversation. Vehicle allocation, timing, handling and price are confirmed for the booking.

Plymouth and the surrounding area
The geographic map shows Plymouth and its surrounding area beside the Tamar and Plymouth Sound. Devonport lies west of the centre, while northern manufacturing areas and Plympton business addresses have different approaches. Give the particular unit, operator or shop and its current receiving instructions. Send both full addresses and the correct goods entrances when enquiring.
This is an area map. It does not mark a Synergix office, establish a fixed service boundary or provide HGV routing. Our team confirms collection, delivery and access for the job.

Before you book
Plymouth transport
questions answered.
Courier, timing and delivery
How quickly can you collect in Plymouth?
A van collection may be possible in around 45 minutes, subject to the exact address, goods and a suitable available vehicle. Call with the ready time and delivery deadline for an estimate. Lorries, refrigerated bodies and specialist equipment need their own positioning and availability check.
Can you deliver from Plymouth to another part of the UK on the same day?
It may be possible, depending on when the goods are released, loading time, vehicle position, distance, road conditions and the receiver’s latest acceptance time. Give us both addresses and the actual deadline. We assess the complete job before agreeing the delivery plan.
What can a dedicated courier carry?
Courier work can include documents, parts, samples, print, IT equipment, technical cases, boxed stock and suitable bulky or palletised goods. Give the packaged dimensions, quantities and individual weights so we can assess the vehicle, loading and receiving arrangements.
Will a dedicated courier load stay on the same vehicle?
It normally stays on the same vehicle between the agreed collection and delivery points, without a parcel-network sorting hub. Tell us about extra stops, returns or unusual route requirements so the arrangement is clear before booking.
Can I call at night or at the weekend?
Yes. Our phones are answered 24/7/365. Call to discuss the load and confirm a suitable vehicle and plan. Someone must be available to release the goods and accept them at the agreed times.
How will I receive delivery updates and proof of delivery?
Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available. Agree the updates and evidence you need when booking, including a named recipient, signature, photograph or delivery reference.
Haulage, vehicles and unloading
Do I need a courier or a haulage arrangement?
Start with the goods and deadline. An urgent part, technical case or suitable pallet may need a courier. Heavier freight, larger volumes, specialist bodies or repeat loads may need haulage. Send the load and site details and we will help you choose.
Can you arrange dedicated pallet transport in Plymouth?
Yes, we assess dedicated pallet movements with collection, delivery and a suitable vehicle agreed for the job. Send the loaded footprint, height, individual weights, quantity, stackability and loading at both ends. Synergix does not offer pallet-network services.
Can you discuss full loads, part loads and regular deliveries?
Yes. Full loads, regular haulage and supported part-load arrangements can be discussed. Agree the body, loading, collection window and delivery plan. Part-load availability is assessed individually; it is not a pallet-network product.
How do I choose a van or lorry, and can LoadCheck help?
Measure each item as it will travel, including packaging, the pallet and overhang. Enter packaged dimensions, weights and quantities into LoadCheck for an initial size estimate. Our team confirms actual fit, usable payload, apertures, restraint, equipment, access and availability.
What if the delivery site has no forklift?
Tell us before booking. A suitable tail lift, mounted forklift, crane or agreed crew may be an option, depending on the goods and site. Send item weights, dimensions, fork access or lifting points, ground conditions and final placement. These handling methods solve different problems and must be agreed.
When must I request an electric pump truck?
Under Synergix’s booking rule, request an electric pump truck when pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more. Lighter pallets may also need powered handling. Platform load, footprint, ground and the actual equipment still need checking.
Can you assess a crane or mounted-forklift delivery?
Yes. Send the precise goods, individual weights, dimensions, lifting points or fork access, required placement and photographs of the unloading area. Crane reach and support conditions differ from forklift access. Suitability, equipment and availability are confirmed for the job.
Can you arrange refrigerated transport or event refrigeration?
We can assess both, with the product, required temperature and handover agreed. Refrigerated transport moves goods under an agreed temperature arrangement. Stationary event refrigeration provides storage at a venue. Tell us which you need, the duration, access and any power requirement.
Plymouth access and local handovers
Can you assess engineering equipment for Devonport or a Plymouth defence supplier?
Send the precise goods description, packaged dimensions, individual and total weights, protective packaging, release reference and authorised receiver. Explain any security, controlled-goods or handling conditions before acceptance. Confirm the actual goods gate and appointment with the site. We assess the transport job; local defence activity does not establish Synergix customers, clearances or automatic access.
Is a marine manufacturing enquiry the same as moving a whole yacht?
No. Tell us exactly whether the job concerns packaged components, fittings, tooling, equipment or a vessel. Give dimensions, weights, handling points and loading equipment. A whole-vessel or abnormal-load movement needs its own transport and route assessment. The marine industry nearby does not make one vehicle or method suitable for every job.
Can I unload outside a city-centre shop between 4am and 8am?
That entry window does not permit loading everywhere. The council's September 2026 made-order documents separately identify no waiting and no loading lengths, permitted access and specific goods-loading bays. Confirm the lawful service yard or bay, signs, receiving time and any permit requirement for the actual vehicle and street before booking. A shop's opening time is not loading permission.
What should I provide for a Millbay freight collection?
Give the operator or agent, goods reference, release status, actual gate, booked appointment and authorised contact. Send the onward addresses, load dimensions and weights, body type and loading equipment. Explain any customs, controlled-goods or special handling conditions before acceptance. Public passenger directions and a port postcode do not authorise collection.
Can a Plymouth delivery include a Tamar crossing?
We can assess the journey from the actual load and both addresses. Give any receiving deadline and check the appropriate crossing's current conditions, vehicle class and toll arrangements. Oversized or heavy loads need separate notification and restriction checks with the operator. Crossing suitability does not replace checks on the final approach, turning space and unloading area.
Do all loads from Belliver medical-technology premises need the same handling?
No. Explain the actual goods, packaging, dimensions, weight and value. Tell us about any temperature, cleanliness, fragility or controlled-handling requirements before acceptance. Confirm the authorised release and receiving contacts, slot and loading equipment. Production supplies, packaged equipment and a regulated consignment can require different arrangements.
Price, booking and changes
What affects the price of a Plymouth courier or haulage job?
Vehicle positioning, route distance, body type, deadline, waiting, loading, extra stops, handling equipment and additional labour affect the quote. Send accurate goods and site details. We price the actual arrangement rather than applying one mileage rate to every load.
How do I book, and what happens if the job changes?
Request a quote or call with both addresses, packaged dimensions, individual and total weights, quantities, ready time, deadline, contacts and handling at both ends. We confirm the vehicle, plan and price for the booking. Tell us promptly about added goods, delayed release or a changed slot so we can reassess.
Can you discuss warehousing, retail distribution or two-person delivery?
Yes. Send the usual route, frequency, volumes, receiving windows and seasonal peaks. Warehousing, cross-docking, retail distribution and agreed two-person handling can be considered within a wider arrangement. Storage location, handling scope, availability and commercial terms are agreed separately.
