Your load.
The right vehicle.

Browse the van, rigid, articulated and specialist options, then open a vehicle guide for dimensions, body types and loading advice. You can ask for a particular vehicle or let us work from your load details.

Vehicle illustrations show example bodies. We confirm the actual vehicle, usable space, payload and equipment for your booking. Specialist configurations are subject to suitability and availability.

01 / Same-day & dedicated courier

Penzance courier.
A direct delivery.

If a missing component is holding up production, an event is waiting for its equipment or a customer needs stock today, call with the actual deadline. We arrange dedicated collection and delivery between the agreed points, without a parcel-network sorting hub.

Urgent business consignments

Documents, engineering parts, samples, tools, print, boxed stock and IT equipment can all need a dedicated courier. The smallest suitable vehicle depends on the packaged goods, not the label “parcel”. Send the quantity, dimensions and weights.

A server, delicate prototype or finished component needs packaging that protects it during loading and travel. Tell us if it must stay upright, cannot be stacked or needs a named recipient.

Pallets and bulky items

Courier work can include a suitable pallet or bulky consignment. We check the vehicle aperture, usable space, payload and unloading method. A pallet does not automatically fit a van just because it fits on the floor.

For heavier loads, several pallets or specialised unloading, see the haulage guidance. You can enquire without choosing the lorry first.

How quickly can we collect?

A Penzance van collection may be possible in around 45 minutes, subject to the address, goods and a suitable available vehicle. Call for an estimate for your actual job. A rigid, artic, refrigerated body or specialist handling arrangement needs its own availability check.

Collection speed is only part of the plan. Tell us when the goods will be released, how long loading will take and the receiver’s latest acceptance time. A dry-dock component needs its release contact and goods gate confirmed, while freight for an onward sailing needs the operator's actual booked receiving slot agreed.

Penzance collections and onward UK delivery

A Penzance collection may involve a Long Rock unit, a dry-dock workshop, a central shop or a booked quay receiving point. Give the business, unit or operator, actual goods entrance, release contact and ready time. A general harbour name or passenger terminal address is not a complete goods instruction.

For packaged marine parts, tooling, equipment, documents or stock, send dimensions, individual weights, protective packaging and the receiving deadline. Explain fragility, value and any security, temperature or handling requirements before acceptance. We assess local transfers and onward UK road journeys around the load and authorised handover.

Updates, proof of delivery and repeat work

Our team remains your contact for the movement. Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available; agree any named-recipient, signature, photograph or reference requirements when booking.

We also assess scheduled supplier collections, branch transfers, multi-stop work and repeat courier routes. Phones are answered 24/7/365. The vehicle, crew and access at each end are confirmed for the booking.

02 / General & dedicated haulage

Penzance haulage.
Planned around the load.

For dedicated pallet transport, heavier engineering freight or a regular trailer movement, Synergix arranges the vehicle and driver around your load, handling and receiving requirements. Options include 7.5t, 18t and 26t rigids, full artics and suitable specialist configurations.

Dedicated pallet transport

Tell us the actual loaded footprint, height, weight and whether the freight can be stacked. A nominal pallet size does not include a crate, machine or packaging that projects beyond it.

We arrange a dedicated vehicle for your palletised goods, with collection, delivery and loading agreed for your job. Our team coordinates the movement and remains your point of contact. Tell us about fragile freight, specific handling or a timed delivery when booking.

Full loads, part loads and repeat work

A full vehicle can support larger consignments, stock transfers, production schedules and loads needing dedicated capacity. Agree the body, floor space, payload and loading order.

Part-load haulage can also be discussed where a suitable arrangement is available. Agree its collection window, delivery plan and handling before booking. For regular work, send your collection frequency, usual volumes, busy periods, site opening hours and return-load requirements.

Choose the body as well as the lorry size

Box and curtainsider

A box body uses its specified door opening and loading arrangement. A curtainsider can allow suitable forklift loading from the side. Check clear aperture, side access and restraint; curtains alone are not a universal load-securing system.

Flatbed, crane and mounted forklift

Long material, machinery or a delivery without a forklift may need a different body or handling method. A HIAB-type crane and MOFFETT-type forklift do different jobs. Supply load weights, lifting points or fork access, required reach and site photographs.

Temperature-controlled loads

Specify the product, required temperature, collection condition, packaging and monitoring or handover records. A refrigeration unit changes the vehicle specification; confirm its actual payload and space.

Articulated and specialist trailers

Curtainsider, box, refrigerated, flatbed and specialist trailer requirements are assessed individually. A long or heavy item needs its full dimensions, weight distribution and loading plan checked. The illustrated range does not establish suitability for every load.

Getting it off matters just as much

Confirm a forklift, loading dock, tail lift or other agreed equipment at both ends. For a tail-lift delivery, we need the individual item weight, footprint, all weight on the platform, permitted handling method, load centre and the surface beyond the lift.

When pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck. This is Synergix's booking requirement. Lower weights can also need powered handling. A tail lift and pallet truck do not automatically solve gravel, slopes, steps or an unsuitable pallet.

Read our tail-lift and pallet-truck guidance.

Timed deliveries and urgent haulage

For engineering equipment, palletised stock or regular distribution loads around Penzance, confirm body type, loaded dimensions, individual weights and loading equipment at both ends. Long Rock yards, harbour receiving points and central premises need different approaches and appointments. Any onward sea leg requires its own confirmed arrangement.

Urgent rigid or artic capacity can be assessed by our team. It does not carry the van collection estimate. Vehicle positioning, loading time, traffic, site appointments and applicable driver-hours limits determine the plan. UK, Ireland and European freight may also need ferry and goods-document arrangements.

Local work. Different requirements.

Transport shaped
by Penzance.

Penzance has working harbour and dry-dock activity, a mainland freight link with the Isles of Scilly, and Long Rock commercial or rail-maintenance sites. Central shops, galleries and nearby Newlyn businesses add different receiving requirements.

Marine repair, engineering and defence-sector enquiries

Components for dry-dock workshops

Penzance Dry Dock's current information describes vessel repair, refit, engineering and machining or manufacturing facilities at its Wharf Road site. It also identifies defence among its sectors. Components, tooling and workshop equipment need the actual department, release contact and handling method confirmed.

Send dimensions, individual weights, protective packaging and support or securing points. Give the goods gate, project or release reference, appointment and authorised receiver. Explain security or controlled-goods conditions before acceptance. A shipyard sector description does not establish Synergix approval or permission to enter a particular work area.

Mainland freight and onward island shipments

Booked Penzance Quay handovers

Isles of Scilly Freight handles consignments between the mainland and the islands, with its Penzance Quay contact at North Arm Pier. Its current information requires a freight booking and shipping note. A road delivery to the quay and the onward sea shipment need their respective arrangements confirmed.

Give the actual freight operator, destination island, shipment reference, receiving slot and goods instructions. Send loaded dimensions, individual weights and packaging, including any special requirements. Confirm the onward service and final receiver separately. Do not treat a passenger sailing timetable as a freight acceptance slot or a complete island delivery.

Commercial units and rail-maintenance supplies

Long Rock parts, stock and equipment

Long Rock combines commercial premises with GWR's train-maintenance depot. GWR describes servicing, fuelling, cleaning, stabling and maintenance at the depot. A trade unit, warehouse and controlled railway receiving point each need the correct company, entrance and authorised contact.

For components, tooling or palletised stock, send dimensions, weights, protective packaging and the ready time. Confirm the unit or depot department, release reference, appointment and loading equipment. Explain any security or site requirements before acceptance. Passenger-station directions do not identify a maintenance-depot goods gate.

Retail, arts and surrounding fishing businesses

Central stock and Newlyn equipment

Penzance's central shops and galleries, waterfront premises and nearby Newlyn businesses can need stock, packaged work or operating equipment. Newlyn has its own harbour operator and receiving points. Give the particular tenant, business or organiser rather than a general waterfront destination.

Explain value, fragility, packaging, dimensions and weights. Confirm the lawful loading point, goods entrance, slot, doors, steps and carrying distance. Agree extra crew and two-person delivery separately. Temperature-sensitive goods and stationary event refrigeration need their own suitability and operating arrangements before acceptance.

Local sector context: Penzance Dry Dock engineering services and Penzance Quay freight contact and Current Isles of Scilly Freight information and GWR Long Rock depot context and Newlyn harbour operator. Named organisations provide local context, not claims of Synergix customers.

The last mile matters

Routes, loading
& site access.

Confirm the particular goods entrance, suitable vehicle approach and receiving slot. Current central-street restrictions, harbour operators and rail-depot access need separate checks. Mainland freight receiving is also distinct from the onward sailing.

Market Jew Street and Market Place

Penzance Council's September 2026 information says camera enforcement of existing restrictions began on 28 September. It describes the daily 11am to 4pm motor-vehicle prohibition on Market Jew Street and Market Place, with specified bus and licensed hackney-carriage exceptions. This does not create a general delivery exemption.

Check the current council restriction information, signs and applicable order for the particular approach. Confirm a lawful loading point, receiving window and final handling. Market Place's bus-lane or one-way restrictions and nearby turning restrictions are separate matters.

Quay freight booking and receiving

Give the operator, particular receiving facility, shipment or release reference, authorised contact and booked slot. The current Isles of Scilly Freight contact identifies the Ranks Building, North Arm Pier, Wharf Road. Confirm its actual current goods instructions for the consignment.

Arrange the freight booking and shipping documents with the onward operator. Check current sailing and receiving information rather than relying on an older vessel name, timetable or passenger itinerary. Confirm packaging, dimensions, weights and any special conditions. A road handover does not prove onward shipment or final island delivery.

Dry-dock gates and workshop equipment

For a Wharf Road shipyard collection, give the actual department, project reference, goods gate and release contact. Confirm vehicle approach, appointment and loading equipment. A public harbour office or passenger entrance does not identify the workshop handover.

Send dimensions, individual weights, handling points and support requirements. Explain security, controlled-goods or special handling conditions before acceptance. Landside parts delivery, lifting onto a vessel and installation are different tasks. Agree the scope and authorised receiver before dispatch.

Long Rock units and railway sites

Give the company, unit or depot department, full postcode and actual goods entrance. Confirm the permitted vehicle approach, entrance width and height, turning room and receiving slot. A Long Rock address or passenger-station destination is not enough to plan a depot handover.

Confirm loading equipment, protective packaging and release reference. Explain security or restricted-area requirements and name the authorised receiver. Commercial premises and railway maintenance facilities have different receiving instructions. Check current road and site conditions for the journey.

Newlyn, waterfront premises and surrounding villages

Identify the actual harbour operator, tenant or business and lawful loading point. Newlyn, Mousehole, Wherrytown and surrounding premises need their own entrances, approach and receiving arrangements. A waterside address does not grant access to a quay or a vessel.

Describe doors, steps, surface, gradient, carrying distance and final positioning. Give packaged dimensions and weights and agree extra crew separately. Check current roadworks, restrictions and local event arrangements using Cornwall's traffic-order resources and receiver instructions.

Loaded pallets and powered handling

Send each loaded pallet's footprint, overhang and weight. Confirm forklift or dock availability, or request the tail lift and pallet-truck arrangement needed. Describe the surface, slope and final movement from the vehicle to the receiver.

If pallet-truck handling is required for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck under Synergix's booking rule. Lighter pallets can need powered handling too. This does not replace platform-capacity, footprint, load-centre, ground and access checks.

Confirm the last few metres

Describe the ground, slope, kerb, steps, loading bay and final placement. Photos help with a narrow yard or awkward entrance. A tail lift lowers goods; it does not move a pallet over gravel, up steps or through a doorway.

Penzance and surrounding areas

Where is your
collection?

We assess collections and deliveries across Penzance and the surrounding area, with onward UK transport. These groups help describe the job. They are coverage areas, not Synergix branch locations or fixed service boundaries.

Central Penzance receiving

Market Jew Street, Market Place, Chapel Street, Causewayhead and surrounding shops, offices or galleries.

Confirm current lawful loading, the tenant, goods entrance and receiving window.

Harbour and waterfront enquiries

Wharf Road, Penzance Quay, dry-dock workshops, the Promenade and waterfront businesses.

Name the operator or department, actual goods gate, release reference and appointment.

Eastern commercial and depot-area work

Long Rock, Eastern Green, Chyandour and neighbouring commercial or railway receiving points.

Give the unit or depot department, permitted approach and loading equipment.

Newlyn and nearby local addresses

Newlyn, Wherrytown, Mousehole, Heamoor, Gulval and surrounding premises.

Confirm the particular business or harbour operator, ground, approach and final handling.

Surrounding west Cornwall collections

Marazion, Ludgvan, St Buryan and other west Cornwall business or residential addresses.

These are coverage enquiries, not branches or a fixed boundary. Give full postcodes and access constraints; island shipments need separate onward arrangements.

A useful enquiry. A clearer quote.

Tell us the job.
We will help plan it.

  1. The two addressesCollection and delivery postcodes, company/unit names, goods entrances and a contact at each end.
  2. What needs movingGoods description, item or pallet count, packaged dimensions, total and individual weights, stackability and photographs where useful.
  3. When it is readyDate, ready time, latest arrival, goods-in closing time and any booked slot or reference. Identify fixed deadlines.
  4. How it will be handledForklift, dock, tail lift, pallet truck, crane or crew at both ends. Include surface, aperture and vehicle-access limits.
  5. Any special requirementFragile finish, temperature, regulated goods, multiple stops, returnable packaging, returns or agreed final placement.
  6. Updates and repeat workYour preferred contact, delivery evidence and, for regular transport, frequency, expected volumes and seasonal peaks.

What affects the price?

Vehicle positioning, loaded distance, vehicle/body type and time at collection and delivery all contribute. Waiting, additional stops, handling equipment, extra labour, route charges and a return journey can alter the quote.

For ferry or European work, route timing and goods-document requirements also matter. We quote the actual movement; there is no single Penzance mileage price that fits every load.

What happens if something changes?

Tell us promptly about an extra pallet, heavier item, delayed release, changed entrance or missed slot. We can reassess the vehicle, deadline and cost before an unsuitable arrangement causes a problem.

An enquiry is the start of the conversation. Vehicle allocation, timing, handling and price are confirmed for the booking.

Before you book

Penzance transport
questions answered.

Courier, timing and delivery

How quickly can you collect in Penzance?

A van collection may be possible in around 45 minutes, subject to the exact address, goods and a suitable available vehicle. Call with the ready time and delivery deadline for an estimate. Lorries, refrigerated bodies and specialist equipment need their own positioning and availability check.

Can you deliver from Penzance to another part of the UK on the same day?

It may be possible, depending on when the goods are released, loading time, vehicle position, distance, road conditions and the receiver’s latest acceptance time. Give us both addresses and the actual deadline. We assess the complete job before agreeing the delivery plan.

What can a dedicated courier carry?

Courier work can include documents, parts, samples, print, IT equipment, technical cases, boxed stock and suitable bulky or palletised goods. Give the packaged dimensions, quantities and individual weights so we can assess the vehicle, loading and receiving arrangements.

Will a dedicated courier load stay on the same vehicle?

It normally stays on the same vehicle between the agreed collection and delivery points, without a parcel-network sorting hub. Tell us about extra stops, returns or unusual route requirements so the arrangement is clear before booking.

Can I call at night or at the weekend?

Yes. Our phones are answered 24/7/365. Call to discuss the load and confirm a suitable vehicle and plan. Someone must be available to release the goods and accept them at the agreed times.

How will I receive delivery updates and proof of delivery?

Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available. Agree the updates and evidence you need when booking, including a named recipient, signature, photograph or delivery reference.

Haulage, vehicles and unloading

Do I need a courier or a haulage arrangement?

Start with the goods and deadline. An urgent part, technical case or suitable pallet may need a courier. Heavier freight, larger volumes, specialist bodies or repeat loads may need haulage. Send the load and site details and we will help you choose.

Can you arrange dedicated pallet transport in Penzance?

Yes, we assess dedicated pallet movements with collection, delivery and a suitable vehicle agreed for the job. Send the loaded footprint, height, individual weights, quantity, stackability and loading at both ends. Synergix does not offer pallet-network services.

Can you discuss full loads, part loads and regular deliveries?

Yes. Full loads, regular haulage and supported part-load arrangements can be discussed. Agree the body, loading, collection window and delivery plan. Part-load availability is assessed individually; it is not a pallet-network product.

How do I choose a van or lorry, and can LoadCheck help?

Measure each item as it will travel, including packaging, the pallet and overhang. Enter packaged dimensions, weights and quantities into LoadCheck for an initial size estimate. Our team confirms actual fit, usable payload, apertures, restraint, equipment, access and availability.

What if the delivery site has no forklift?

Tell us before booking. A suitable tail lift, mounted forklift, crane or agreed crew may be an option, depending on the goods and site. Send item weights, dimensions, fork access or lifting points, ground conditions and final placement. These handling methods solve different problems and must be agreed.

When must I request an electric pump truck?

Under Synergix’s booking rule, request an electric pump truck when pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more. Lighter pallets may also need powered handling. Platform load, footprint, ground and the actual equipment still need checking.

Can you assess a crane or mounted-forklift delivery?

Yes. Send the precise goods, individual weights, dimensions, lifting points or fork access, required placement and photographs of the unloading area. Crane reach and support conditions differ from forklift access. Suitability, equipment and availability are confirmed for the job.

Can you arrange refrigerated transport or event refrigeration?

We can assess both, with the product, required temperature and handover agreed. Refrigerated transport moves goods under an agreed temperature arrangement. Stationary event refrigeration provides storage at a venue. Tell us which you need, the duration, access and any power requirement.

Penzance access and local handovers

Does a delivery need give permission to enter Market Jew Street during restricted hours?

Do not assume a delivery exemption. Current council information describes a daily motor-vehicle prohibition and specified exceptions, with camera enforcement from September 2026. Check the signs, applicable order and lawful approach for the street and date. Confirm a receiving window and loading point with the business, including final handling from the vehicle.

Can a road delivery to Penzance Quay include an onward Isles of Scilly shipment automatically?

Confirm the scope separately. Give the freight operator, destination island, shipment reference, booked receiving slot and shipping documents. The road handover, onward sea service and final island receiving each need an agreed arrangement. Check current operator information and explain dimensions, weights, packaging and special requirements before booking.

What information helps with Penzance Dry Dock components?

Send dimensions, individual weights, protective packaging, handling and support points. Give the workshop or department, actual goods gate, project or release reference, appointment and authorised receiver. Confirm loading equipment at both ends and explain security or controlled-goods conditions before acceptance. Vessel transfer or installation needs separate agreement.

Is Penzance passenger station the receiving point for Long Rock depot supplies?

Confirm the actual maintenance-depot goods entrance and department. Give the release or order reference, authorised receiver, slot and permitted vehicle approach. Send dimensions, weights, packaging and loading equipment. A passenger address or general Long Rock postcode does not identify a restricted railway receiving point.

What helps plan a fragile gallery or Newlyn business collection?

Give the actual business, goods entrance and lawful loading point. Send dimensions, weights, protective packaging and any fragility or value information. Describe steps, doors, carrying distance and final placement. Agree additional handling or two-person assistance separately and explain any special goods conditions before acceptance.

Price, booking and changes

What affects the price of a Penzance courier or haulage job?

Vehicle positioning, route distance, body type, deadline, waiting, loading, extra stops, handling equipment and additional labour affect the quote. Send accurate goods and site details. We price the actual arrangement rather than applying one mileage rate to every load.

How do I book, and what happens if the job changes?

Request a quote or call with both addresses, packaged dimensions, individual and total weights, quantities, ready time, deadline, contacts and handling at both ends. We confirm the vehicle, plan and price for the booking. Tell us promptly about added goods, delayed release or a changed slot so we can reassess.

Can you discuss warehousing, retail distribution or two-person delivery?

Yes. Send the usual route, frequency, volumes, receiving windows and seasonal peaks. Warehousing, cross-docking, retail distribution and agreed two-person handling can be considered within a wider arrangement. Storage location, handling scope, availability and commercial terms are agreed separately.
