01 / Same-day & dedicated courier
Bath courier.
A direct delivery.
If a missing component is holding up production, an event is waiting for its equipment or a customer needs stock today, call with the actual deadline. We arrange dedicated collection and delivery between the agreed points, without a parcel-network sorting hub.
Urgent business consignments
Documents, engineering parts, samples, tools, print, boxed stock and IT equipment can all need a dedicated courier. The smallest suitable vehicle depends on the packaged goods, not the label “parcel”. Send the quantity, dimensions and weights.
A server, delicate prototype or finished component needs packaging that protects it during loading and travel. Tell us if it must stay upright, cannot be stacked or needs a named recipient.
Pallets and bulky items
Courier work can include a suitable pallet or bulky consignment. We check the vehicle aperture, usable space, payload and unloading method. A pallet does not automatically fit a van just because it fits on the floor.
For heavier loads, several pallets or specialised unloading, see the haulage guidance. You can enquire without choosing the lorry first.
How quickly can we collect?
A Bath van collection may be possible in around 45 minutes, subject to the address, goods and a suitable available vehicle. Call for an estimate for your actual job. A rigid, artic, refrigerated body or specialist handling arrangement needs its own availability check.
Collection speed is only part of the plan. Tell us when the goods will be released, how long loading will take and the receiver’s latest acceptance time. A collection from a Locksbrook premises for a shop inside the city-centre security zone needs its receiving window checked before a same-day deadline is accepted.
Bath collections and onward UK delivery
A Bath collection might be office equipment at Bath Quays, materials at Locksbrook, a business parcel in Walcot or goods from a workshop around Brassmill Lane. Send the building or unit, goods entrance and release contact, as well as the postcode.
For central deliveries, confirm the street's vehicle-access window and the receiver's handover arrangements. A university enquiry needs the correct campus and department. We assess both local transfers and onward UK deliveries from the actual deadline and complete journey.
Updates, proof of delivery and repeat work
Our team remains your contact for the movement. Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available; agree any named-recipient, signature, photograph or reference requirements when booking.
We also assess scheduled supplier collections, branch transfers, multi-stop work and repeat courier routes. Phones are answered 24/7/365. The vehicle, crew and access at each end are confirmed for the booking.
02 / General & dedicated haulage
Bath haulage.
Planned around the load.
For dedicated pallet transport, heavier engineering freight or a regular trailer movement, Synergix arranges the vehicle and driver around your load, handling and receiving requirements. Options include 7.5t, 18t and 26t rigids, full artics and suitable specialist configurations.
Dedicated pallet transport
Tell us the actual loaded footprint, height, weight and whether the freight can be stacked. A nominal pallet size does not include a crate, machine or packaging that projects beyond it.
We arrange a dedicated vehicle for your palletised goods, with collection, delivery and loading agreed for your job. Our team coordinates the movement and remains your point of contact. Tell us about fragile freight, specific handling or a timed delivery when booking.
Full loads, part loads and repeat work
A full vehicle can support larger consignments, stock transfers, production schedules and loads needing dedicated capacity. Agree the body, floor space, payload and loading order.
Part-load haulage can also be discussed where a suitable arrangement is available. Agree its collection window, delivery plan and handling before booking. For regular work, send your collection frequency, usual volumes, busy periods, site opening hours and return-load requirements.
Choose the body as well as the lorry size
Box and curtainsider
A box body uses its specified door opening and loading arrangement. A curtainsider can allow suitable forklift loading from the side. Check clear aperture, side access and restraint; curtains alone are not a universal load-securing system.
Flatbed, crane and mounted forklift
Long material, machinery or a delivery without a forklift may need a different body or handling method. A HIAB-type crane and MOFFETT-type forklift do different jobs. Supply load weights, lifting points or fork access, required reach and site photographs.
Temperature-controlled loads
Specify the product, required temperature, collection condition, packaging and monitoring or handover records. A refrigeration unit changes the vehicle specification; confirm its actual payload and space.
Articulated and specialist trailers
Curtainsider, box, refrigerated, flatbed and specialist trailer requirements are assessed individually. A long or heavy item needs its full dimensions, weight distribution and loading plan checked. The illustrated range does not establish suitability for every load.
Getting it off matters just as much
Confirm a forklift, loading dock, tail lift or other agreed equipment at both ends. For a tail-lift delivery, we need the individual item weight, footprint, all weight on the platform, permitted handling method, load centre and the surface beyond the lift.
When pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck. This is Synergix's booking requirement. Lower weights can also need powered handling. A tail lift and pallet truck do not automatically solve gravel, slopes, steps or an unsuitable pallet.
Timed deliveries and urgent haulage
For palletised stock, workshop equipment or a commercial fit-out in Bath, the final approach can decide the lorry and handling method. Send the full entrance details, packaged dimensions, individual weights, forklift or dock availability and booked receiving slot. A city-centre frontage, hillside property and open industrial yard need different plans.
Urgent rigid or artic capacity can be assessed by our team. It does not carry the van collection estimate. Vehicle positioning, loading time, traffic, site appointments and applicable driver-hours limits determine the plan. UK, Ireland and European freight may also need ferry and goods-document arrangements.
Local work. Different requirements.
Transport shaped
by Bath.
Bath's business needs include engineering, creative work, education, professional offices and retail and hospitality. These examples connect the local setting with the practical information needed to assess a transport enquiry.
Engineering and industrial controls
Brassmill Lane and business equipment
Rotork's current UK directory identifies its Brassmill Lane address in Bath. The wider B&NES economic strategy also identifies advanced engineering among the area's strengths.
For parts, test equipment or packaged machinery, send individual weights, dimensions, lifting or fork access and protective-packaging instructions. A company address does not prove that a particular production or loading operation takes place there. Confirm the actual collection point with the sender.
Defence-related engineering
Bath Quays and technical handovers
BMT's current contact directory places its Bath office at Bath Quays, 1 Foundry Lane. Its published services include naval design and defence engineering and consultancy. This is relevant engineering activity, rather than proof of a Bath defence factory.
For ordinary project equipment, components or documents, identify the authorised sender and recipient and any handling, value or security conditions. Controlled-goods requirements must be explained before acceptance. No Synergix customer relationship or clearance is implied.
Creative work and materials
Locksbrook workshops and studios
Bath Spa University's Locksbrook Campus contains technical workshops and studio spaces for creative and design work. Artworks, exhibition materials and equipment can require very different packaging from ordinary boxed stock.
Give the exact campus entrance and receiving team. Explain whether an item must remain upright, cannot be stacked or has a delicate finish. Agreed two-person handling and placement need the dimensions, weight, doorway and final carrying route confirmed.
Retail and hospitality
Central Bath stock and equipment
A retailer, hotel or hospitality business may need replenishment, packaging or a replacement piece of equipment. In the central security zone, the permitted arrival time matters as much as collection speed.
Give the goods entrance, unloading space and named receiver. Describe steps, basement access and the distance from the vehicle to the handover point. A tail lift does not solve a narrow doorway or a stair carry; extra labour and final placement must be agreed.
University and professional work
The correct campus or office
The University of Bath's main campus is at Claverton Down on the east side of the city. Bath Spa's Locksbrook and Newton Park campuses are different destinations. An institution name alone is not a delivery address.
For departmental equipment, samples or office transfers, provide the building, delivery reference, receiver and packaging details. Any regulated, hazardous or temperature-sensitive goods need their actual conditions declared before acceptance.
Regular and event transport
A planned handover and return
Repeat stock movements, supplier collections and event equipment can be planned around agreed receiving slots and return goods. Give the frequency, usual load, busy periods and access arrangements at each stop.
We can discuss general haulage, retail distribution, warehousing and cross-docking alongside transport. Refrigerated transport and stationary event refrigeration are separate arrangements. An event trailer also needs positioning space, site access and agreed power arrangements.
Local sector context: BMT's current Bath Quays location and Locksbrook Campus information and Rotork's UK directory. Named organisations provide local context, not claims of Synergix customers.

Routes, loading
& site access.
Bath's streets, gradients and controlled central access can affect the final handover. Confirm the approach for the assigned vehicle, the actual loading entrance and the receiver's availability before settling the deadline.
Clean Air Zone: check the commercial vehicle
Bath's Clean Air Zone treats private cars and motorcycles differently from chargeable commercial vehicles. The private-car exemption is not a general exemption for vans or lorries. Check the assigned vehicle and route using the council's vehicle and zone guidance.
The emissions check, vehicle access and loading permission are separate matters. Any route charge must be considered in the quote; paying it does not open a restricted street or reserve a loading bay.
Central security-zone delivery windows
The council generally restricts motor access from 10am to 6pm on the listed security-zone streets, every day. York Street is restricted from 10am to 10pm. Ordinary delivery drivers are not automatically exempt.
For essential access during restricted hours, the council assesses one-off permits and asks applicants to apply at least ten working days ahead. Confirm the correct gate and permission through the current access guidance. Other restricted streets have separate rules.
The approach, gradients and unloading space
A hillside address around Lansdown, Bathwick or the surrounding villages needs the complete approach assessed. Describe narrow entrances, gradients, turning room and the ground where unloading will take place.
For a heavy pallet, send its individual weight and loaded footprint. If pallet-truck handling is required for a loaded pallet of 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck under Synergix's booking rule. The surface, slope and platform capacity still control suitability.
Lower Bristol Road and current works
The council's Bath Quays Links page records works affecting Lower Bristol Road and Green Park Road. Check the current project update and the receiver's instructions before an appointment.
A scheduled completion date is not proof that restrictions have ended. Give the active goods entrance and confirm any temporary approach or loading arrangement. We assess the actual route and arrival plan rather than promise a fixed driving time.
Campus and controlled-site handovers
Distinguish Claverton Down from Locksbrook and Newton Park, and identify the building or department. Check the Claverton Down location when describing the address, then confirm goods-in instructions directly.
For engineering offices and other controlled premises, provide the authorised receiving contact and delivery reference. Visitor parking or a public reception is not automatically an appropriate unloading point.
Body type and agreed placement
Side-loading pallets may suit a curtainsider where a forklift and clear working space are available. A box-body rear delivery, tail lift, mounted forklift and crane each need their own load and site checks.
For furniture or bulky equipment, tell us whether the handover is kerbside, to a loading bay or inside the premises. Two-person delivery, stairs, assembly and installation must be agreed specifically. Photos help establish the final route.
Confirm the last few metres
Describe the ground, slope, kerb, steps, loading bay and final placement. Photos help with a narrow yard or awkward entrance. A tail lift lowers goods; it does not move a pallet over gravel, up steps or through a doorway.
Bath and surrounding areas
Where is your
collection?
We assess collections and deliveries across Bath and the surrounding area, with onward UK transport. These groups help describe the job. They are coverage areas, not Synergix branch locations or fixed service boundaries.
City centre and central business addresses
Central Bath, Walcot, the security-zone streets and Bath Quays.
Send the exact street, gate, goods entrance and permitted receiving window. Central access rules are not uniform.
West Bath and commercial collections
Locksbrook, Brassmill Lane, Twerton, Oldfield Park, Weston and Newbridge.
Confirm the business unit, loading direction and yard access, as well as packaged size and weight.
East, north and south Bath
Bathwick, Claverton Down, Larkhall, Lansdown, Bear Flat and Combe Down.
Gradients, narrow approaches and the final carrying route may affect the vehicle or unloading arrangement.
Surrounding-area enquiries

What affects the price?
Vehicle positioning, loaded distance, vehicle/body type and time at collection and delivery all contribute. Waiting, additional stops, handling equipment, extra labour, route charges and a return journey can alter the quote.
For ferry or European work, route timing and goods-document requirements also matter. We quote the actual movement; there is no single Bath mileage price that fits every load.
What happens if something changes?
Tell us promptly about an extra pallet, heavier item, delayed release, changed entrance or missed slot. We can reassess the vehicle, deadline and cost before an unsuitable arrangement causes a problem.
An enquiry is the start of the conversation. Vehicle allocation, timing, handling and price are confirmed for the booking.

Bath and the surrounding area
The geographic map shows Bath in Somerset and its surrounding districts. The western Locksbrook and Brassmill Lane area is separate from the Claverton Down campus to the east. Use the map for area context, then send the precise goods entrance and permitted approach. Send both full addresses and the correct goods entrances when enquiring.

Before you book
Bath transport
questions answered.
Courier, timing and delivery
How quickly can you collect in Bath?
A van collection may be possible in around 45 minutes, subject to the exact address, goods and a suitable available vehicle. Call with the ready time and delivery deadline for an estimate. Lorries, refrigerated bodies and specialist equipment need their own positioning and availability check.
Can you deliver from Bath to another part of the UK on the same day?
It may be possible, depending on when the goods are released, loading time, vehicle position, distance, road conditions and the receiver’s latest acceptance time. Give us both addresses and the actual deadline. We assess the complete job before agreeing the delivery plan.
What can a dedicated courier carry?
Courier work can include documents, parts, samples, print, IT equipment, technical cases, boxed stock and suitable bulky or palletised goods. Give the packaged dimensions, quantities and individual weights so we can assess the vehicle, loading and receiving arrangements.
Will a dedicated courier load stay on the same vehicle?
It normally stays on the same vehicle between the agreed collection and delivery points, without a parcel-network sorting hub. Tell us about extra stops, returns or unusual route requirements so the arrangement is clear before booking.
Can I call at night or at the weekend?
Yes. Our phones are answered 24/7/365. Call to discuss the load and confirm a suitable vehicle and plan. Someone must be available to release the goods and accept them at the agreed times.
How will I receive delivery updates and proof of delivery?
Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available. Agree the updates and evidence you need when booking, including a named recipient, signature, photograph or delivery reference.
Haulage, vehicles and unloading
Do I need a courier or a haulage arrangement?
Start with the goods and deadline. An urgent part, technical case or suitable pallet may need a courier. Heavier freight, larger volumes, specialist bodies or repeat loads may need haulage. Send the load and site details and we will help you choose.
Can you arrange dedicated pallet transport in Bath?
Yes, we assess dedicated pallet movements with collection, delivery and a suitable vehicle agreed for the job. Send the loaded footprint, height, individual weights, quantity, stackability and loading at both ends. Synergix does not offer pallet-network services.
Can you discuss full loads, part loads and regular deliveries?
Yes. Full loads, regular haulage and supported part-load arrangements can be discussed. Agree the body, loading, collection window and delivery plan. Part-load availability is assessed individually; it is not a pallet-network product.
How do I choose a van or lorry, and can LoadCheck help?
Measure each item as it will travel, including packaging, the pallet and overhang. Enter packaged dimensions, weights and quantities into LoadCheck for an initial size estimate. Our team confirms actual fit, usable payload, apertures, restraint, equipment, access and availability.
What if the delivery site has no forklift?
Tell us before booking. A suitable tail lift, mounted forklift, crane or agreed crew may be an option, depending on the goods and site. Send item weights, dimensions, fork access or lifting points, ground conditions and final placement. These handling methods solve different problems and must be agreed.
When must I request an electric pump truck?
Under Synergix’s booking rule, request an electric pump truck when pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more. Lighter pallets may also need powered handling. Platform load, footprint, ground and the actual equipment still need checking.
Can you assess a crane or mounted-forklift delivery?
Yes. Send the precise goods, individual weights, dimensions, lifting points or fork access, required placement and photographs of the unloading area. Crane reach and support conditions differ from forklift access. Suitability, equipment and availability are confirmed for the job.
Can you arrange refrigerated transport or event refrigeration?
We can assess both, with the product, required temperature and handover agreed. Refrigerated transport moves goods under an agreed temperature arrangement. Stationary event refrigeration provides storage at a venue. Tell us which you need, the duration, access and any power requirement.
Bath access and local handovers
Can a delivery van enter every central Bath street during the day?
No. The council generally restricts ordinary delivery vehicles from 10am to 6pm in the listed security-zone streets, with York Street restricted until 10pm. Check the exact address, current gate rules and receiving time. Other pedestrian or restricted streets have separate requirements, so one zone's window is not permission for the whole city.
What if an essential delivery needs access during restricted hours?
The council assesses one-off permits where access is essential and cannot be arranged outside the restrictions. Its guidance asks applicants to apply at least ten working days ahead. Identify the relevant gate and confirm permission, vehicle and driver details before transport. A same-day deadline or quote does not itself secure a permit.
Are vans exempt from Bath's Clean Air Zone because cars are?
No. Bath's private-car and motorcycle exemption does not automatically cover commercial vans or lorries. Check the assigned vehicle and exact route with the official checker and confirm any valid exemption. A zone charge is separate from access restrictions and loading permission.
What details do you need for a university or studio delivery?
Give the institution, campus, building, department, goods entrance, delivery reference and named receiver. Claverton Down, Locksbrook and Newton Park are different destinations. Send the packaged size, individual weights and any fragile, upright or temperature-sensitive requirements, then agree the actual handover point with the receiving team.
Can you assess engineering equipment for a Bath Quays handover?
Yes. Send the precise equipment description, dimensions, weights, protective packaging, deadline and authorised receiver. Explain any controlled-goods or security conditions before acceptance. The transport and access must be agreed for that job. Bath's defence-related engineering activity does not imply Synergix clearances, customers or a local depot.
Can a tail lift deal with a steep or stepped final approach?
A tail lift lowers goods from the vehicle; it does not carry them up steps or establish safe pallet movement on a slope. Describe the gradient, ground, doorway, final carrying distance and load weight. We assess the unloading equipment and any agreed crew or placement before booking.
Price, booking and changes
What affects the price of a Bath courier or haulage job?
Vehicle positioning, route distance, body type, deadline, waiting, loading, extra stops, handling equipment and additional labour affect the quote. Send accurate goods and site details. We price the actual arrangement rather than applying one mileage rate to every load.
How do I book, and what happens if the job changes?
Request a quote or call with both addresses, packaged dimensions, individual and total weights, quantities, ready time, deadline, contacts and handling at both ends. We confirm the vehicle, plan and price for the booking. Tell us promptly about added goods, delayed release or a changed slot so we can reassess.
Can you discuss warehousing, retail distribution or two-person delivery?
Yes. Send the usual route, frequency, volumes, receiving windows and seasonal peaks. Warehousing, cross-docking, retail distribution and agreed two-person handling can be considered within a wider arrangement. Storage location, handling scope, availability and commercial terms are agreed separately.
