Your load.
The right vehicle.

Browse the van, rigid, articulated and specialist options, then open a vehicle guide for dimensions, body types and loading advice. You can ask for a particular vehicle or let us work from your load details.

Vehicle illustrations show example bodies. We confirm the actual vehicle, usable space, payload and equipment for your booking. Specialist configurations are subject to suitability and availability.

01 / Same-day & dedicated courier

Inverness courier.
A direct delivery.

If a missing component is holding up production, an event is waiting for its equipment or a customer needs stock today, call with the actual deadline. We arrange dedicated collection and delivery between the agreed points, without a parcel-network sorting hub.

Urgent business consignments

Documents, engineering parts, samples, tools, print, boxed stock and IT equipment can all need a dedicated courier. The smallest suitable vehicle depends on the packaged goods, not the label “parcel”. Send the quantity, dimensions and weights.

A server, delicate prototype or finished component needs packaging that protects it during loading and travel. Tell us if it must stay upright, cannot be stacked or needs a named recipient.

Pallets and bulky items

Courier work can include a suitable pallet or bulky consignment. We check the vehicle aperture, usable space, payload and unloading method. A pallet does not automatically fit a van just because it fits on the floor.

For heavier loads, several pallets or specialised unloading, see the haulage guidance. You can enquire without choosing the lorry first.

How quickly can we collect?

An Inverness van collection may be possible in around 45 minutes, subject to the address, goods and a suitable available vehicle. Call for an estimate for your actual job. A rigid, artic, refrigerated body or specialist handling arrangement needs its own availability check.

Collection speed is only part of the plan. Tell us when the goods will be released, how long loading will take and the receiver’s latest acceptance time. A manufacturing collection needs confirmation that the goods are released, while a campus delivery needs the correct department to be ready to receive them. A longer Highland route or onward journey south must be assessed from its actual ready time and deadline.

Inverness collections and onward UK delivery

Give the actual building and goods entrance for a manufacturing site, campus department, office or industrial unit. An Inverness Campus delivery needs its building and receiver. A port-related collection needs the receiving operator, gate and goods-release arrangements rather than a general harbour address.

We assess work across the city centre, Longman, Carse, Merkinch, Kinmylies, Crown, Inshes, Raigmore, Culloden and surrounding areas. For onward delivery into the Highlands, towards Aberdeen or south to the Central Belt and elsewhere in the UK, send both full addresses and the latest acceptance time. A wide Highland postcode is not a journey-time estimate.

Updates, proof of delivery and repeat work

Our team remains your contact for the movement. Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available; agree any named-recipient, signature, photograph or reference requirements when booking.

We also assess scheduled supplier collections, branch transfers, multi-stop work and repeat courier routes. Phones are answered 24/7/365. The vehicle, crew and access at each end are confirmed for the booking.

02 / General & dedicated haulage

Inverness haulage.
Planned around the load.

For dedicated pallet transport, heavier engineering freight or a regular trailer movement, Synergix arranges the vehicle and driver around your load, handling and receiving requirements. Options include 7.5t, 18t and 26t rigids, full artics and suitable specialist configurations.

Dedicated pallet transport

Tell us the actual loaded footprint, height, weight and whether the freight can be stacked. A nominal pallet size does not include a crate, machine or packaging that projects beyond it.

We arrange a dedicated vehicle for your palletised goods, with collection, delivery and loading agreed for your job. Our team coordinates the movement and remains your point of contact. Tell us about fragile freight, specific handling or a timed delivery when booking.

Full loads, part loads and repeat work

A full vehicle can support larger consignments, stock transfers, production schedules and loads needing dedicated capacity. Agree the body, floor space, payload and loading order.

Part-load haulage can also be discussed where a suitable arrangement is available. Agree its collection window, delivery plan and handling before booking. For regular work, send your collection frequency, usual volumes, busy periods, site opening hours and return-load requirements.

Choose the body as well as the lorry size

Box and curtainsider

A box body uses its specified door opening and loading arrangement. A curtainsider can allow suitable forklift loading from the side. Check clear aperture, side access and restraint; curtains alone are not a universal load-securing system.

Flatbed, crane and mounted forklift

Long material, machinery or a delivery without a forklift may need a different body or handling method. A HIAB-type crane and MOFFETT-type forklift do different jobs. Supply load weights, lifting points or fork access, required reach and site photographs.

Temperature-controlled loads

Specify the product, required temperature, collection condition, packaging and monitoring or handover records. A refrigeration unit changes the vehicle specification; confirm its actual payload and space.

Articulated and specialist trailers

Curtainsider, box, refrigerated, flatbed and specialist trailer requirements are assessed individually. A long or heavy item needs its full dimensions, weight distribution and loading plan checked. The illustrated range does not establish suitability for every load.

Getting it off matters just as much

Confirm a forklift, loading dock, tail lift or other agreed equipment at both ends. For a tail-lift delivery, we need the individual item weight, footprint, all weight on the platform, permitted handling method, load centre and the surface beyond the lift.

When pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck. This is Synergix's booking requirement. Lower weights can also need powered handling. A tail lift and pallet truck do not automatically solve gravel, slopes, steps or an unsuitable pallet.

Read our tail-lift and pallet-truck guidance.

Timed deliveries and urgent haulage

For a Longman trade supplier, a Carse industrial collection or a booked port load, send the exact unit or receiving operator, gate, appointment and contact. Confirm loaded footprints, individual weights, unloading equipment and vehicle limits. Dedicated pallet transport, regular haulage and a quayside lifting operation require different arrangements.

Urgent rigid or artic capacity can be assessed by our team. It does not carry the van collection estimate. Vehicle positioning, loading time, traffic, site appointments and applicable driver-hours limits determine the plan. UK, Ireland and European freight may also need ferry and goods-document arrangements.

Local work. Different requirements.

Transport shaped
by Inverness.

Inverness brings together manufacturing, life sciences, research, port activity and services for a large Highland area. Equipment for a laboratory, packaged industrial goods and a hospitality stock delivery need different vehicles and receiving plans. Identify the actual goods, building and appointment so we can assess the movement properly.

Manufacturing and supply chains

Production parts and packaged equipment

LifeScan maintains a blood-glucose-monitoring manufacturing and research facility in Inverness. Local manufacturing supply chains can need components, tooling, packaging and protected technical equipment delivered to the right receiving team.

Send packaged sizes, individual weights, release time and an authorised receiver. State protection, upright-only and non-stackable requirements. Ordinary equipment transport differs from regulated medical products or samples. Identify the actual goods and any additional requirements before acceptance.

Inverness Campus

Research equipment and laboratory supplies

Inverness Campus hosts life sciences, health, technology and engineering organisations. Its Life Sciences Innovation Centre opened in 2023 and provides laboratory and business accommodation. A campus delivery needs the actual building, department and goods entrance.

Give the receiving contact, appointment and packaged load. Identify chemicals, batteries, biological material or other regulated goods before acceptance. Temperature and protection needs must be stated. A campus postcode or visitor reception is not a substitute for the agreed handover point.

Port of Inverness

Marine and industrial road handovers

The Port of Inverness has working quays, storage and laydown facilities at the River Ness and firth. Supplier parts and packaged industrial goods need the receiving operator and accepted gate, with unloading arrangements confirmed before dispatch.

Send the booking reference, contact, load breakdown and unloading method. Agree whether the road job ends at a store, terminal or another receiving point. Port lifting infrastructure does not establish the capacity of the booked vehicle or permission to carry out vessel or crane work.

Longman, Carse and trade premises

Stock, fittings and repeat loads

Industrial and trade premises around Longman and Carse can need replenishment stock, fittings, replacement parts and packaged machinery. A shared yard or a business with several entrances needs more detail than an estate name.

Give the unit, gate, goods-in hours and handling equipment. For repeat work, provide volumes, frequency, loading time and returns. Confirm the body, payload and floor space from the actual loaded footprints. Projecting packaging and awkward shapes can change the vehicle choice.

City hospitality and events

Supplies, cases and planned returns

Hotels, hospitality businesses and event teams can need packaged supplies, print, technical cases and larger equipment. A busy service yard, an evening event and a return collection each need a clear handover time and contact.

Confirm the legal unloading point, final placement and who receives the goods. Describe stairs, lifts and loading distance. Event refrigeration hire has its own positioning, power and collection plan, separate from refrigerated transport or any specialist food-handling requirement.

Retail, offices and surrounding communities

Bulky goods and business deliveries

City businesses and customers in surrounding communities can need documents, IT hardware, shop stock and larger fittings. An upper-floor office, narrow entrance or rural receiving point can affect the crew and vehicle as well as the journey.

Send both full addresses, legal loading positions and final placement. Photos help with narrow approaches or uneven ground. Two-person delivery can be discussed for suitable loads, with assembly or installation agreed separately. Confirm the accepted service before arranging the receiver’s day.

Local sector context: LifeScan Inverness manufacturing context and Inverness Campus organisations and Life Sciences Innovation Centre. Named organisations provide local context, not claims of Synergix customers.

The last mile matters

Routes, loading
& site access.

The A9, A96 and A82 connect Inverness with different parts of the Highlands and wider UK. Current roadworks, weather, the final approach and the receiver’s opening window all affect the plan. Send the legal loading position and any yard or building limits before the vehicle is confirmed.

A9 works and longer routes south

The Tomatin to Moy section of the A9 dualling programme remains a construction project. Check the current project updates and live traffic information before a timed movement. Temporary signals, access changes and planned works need booking-day checks.

The wider dualling programme includes future work and expected completion dates. Do not treat a planned junction or future dual carriageway as available now. Give the actual ready time, destination and latest acceptance so loading, travel and driver-hours requirements can be assessed.

City streets and legal loading

Confirm current signs, legal loading and the receiver’s goods entrance for city-centre work. Highland Council publishes both made and proposed parking and loading orders. A consultation proposal does not by itself establish a restriction that is already in force.

Give the accepted loading point, floor and final placement. Tell us about stairs, lifts, narrow entrances and any waiting limit. A tail lift lowers the load but does not move it up steps or over an unsuitable surface. Photos can help assess the handling plan.

Port, manufacturing and campus gates

Identify the correct port operator, industrial unit or campus building, with the agreed gate, appointment and receiving contact. Confirm goods release before a collection and the actual goods-in window before a delivery.

State security, documentation, vehicle limits and unloading equipment. A site's opening hours do not establish that every receiving department is available. Road transport does not automatically include customs work, crane handling, a vessel handover or regulated-goods acceptance.

Beyond the city and island connections

Nairn, Dingwall, the Black Isle and other surrounding destinations need their own full addresses and accepted approaches. Further Highland roads can have narrow sections, limited turning space and weather disruption. A route towards the north or west is assessed from the actual job.

If a ferry or another carrier is involved, identify the operator, booking and the exact handover responsibility. Mainland road collection and a booked island connection are different stages. Agree timing, vehicle acceptance and the receiving plan rather than assuming an onward sailing is included.

Confirm the last few metres

Describe the ground, slope, kerb, steps, loading bay and final placement. Photos help with a narrow yard or awkward entrance. A tail lift lowers goods; it does not move a pallet over gravel, up steps or through a doorway.

Inverness and surrounding areas

Where is your
collection?

We assess collections and deliveries across Inverness and the surrounding area, with onward UK transport. These groups help describe the job. They are coverage areas, not Synergix branch locations or fixed service boundaries.

Central and northern Inverness

City centre, Crown, Longman, Merkinch, Carse, Muirtown and nearby districts.

Use the actual unit, goods entrance and legal loading point, with the receiver’s accepted window.

Western and southern city areas

Dalneigh, Kinmylies, Scorguie, Drakies, Holm, Culduthel and surrounding streets.

Describe final placement, stairs, lifts, narrow approaches and any vehicle restrictions.

Eastern Inverness and campus areas

Raigmore, Inshes, Inverness Campus, Smithton, Culloden, Balloch and surrounding areas.

For research or commercial premises, give the actual building, department and named receiver.

Surrounding Highlands and onward UK routes

Nearby movements involving the Black Isle, Dingwall, Nairn and the wider Highlands, with onward UK transport assessed from both full addresses.

These surrounding places are not all Inverness city districts or Synergix offices. Longer roads and any ferry connection need their own timing and handover checks.

A useful enquiry. A clearer quote.

Tell us the job.
We will help plan it.

  1. The two addressesCollection and delivery postcodes, company/unit names, goods entrances and a contact at each end.
  2. What needs movingGoods description, item or pallet count, packaged dimensions, total and individual weights, stackability and photographs where useful.
  3. When it is readyDate, ready time, latest arrival, goods-in closing time and any booked slot or reference. Identify fixed deadlines.
  4. How it will be handledForklift, dock, tail lift, pallet truck, crane or crew at both ends. Include surface, aperture and vehicle-access limits.
  5. Any special requirementFragile finish, temperature, regulated goods, multiple stops, returnable packaging, returns or agreed final placement.
  6. Updates and repeat workYour preferred contact, delivery evidence and, for regular transport, frequency, expected volumes and seasonal peaks.

What affects the price?

Vehicle positioning, loaded distance, vehicle/body type and time at collection and delivery all contribute. Waiting, additional stops, handling equipment, extra labour, route charges and a return journey can alter the quote.

For ferry or European work, route timing and goods-document requirements also matter. We quote the actual movement; there is no single Inverness mileage price that fits every load.

What happens if something changes?

Tell us promptly about an extra pallet, heavier item, delayed release, changed entrance or missed slot. We can reassess the vehicle, deadline and cost before an unsuitable arrangement causes a problem.

An enquiry is the start of the conversation. Vehicle allocation, timing, handling and price are confirmed for the booking.

coverage in Inverness.

Inverness and the surrounding area

The map shows Inverness around the River Ness and the firth, with the city’s eastern, western and southern approaches. Use the actual goods entrance and receiving instructions rather than a map centre or visitor address. Send both full addresses and the correct goods entrances when enquiring.

This is an area map. It does not mark a Synergix office, establish a fixed service boundary or provide HGV routing. Our team confirms collection, delivery and access for the job.

Before you book

Inverness transport
questions answered.

Courier, timing and delivery

How quickly can you collect in Inverness?

A van collection may be possible in around 45 minutes, subject to the exact address, goods and a suitable available vehicle. Call with the ready time and delivery deadline for an estimate. Lorries, refrigerated bodies and specialist equipment need their own positioning and availability check.

Can you deliver from Inverness to another part of the UK on the same day?

It may be possible, depending on when the goods are released, loading time, vehicle position, distance, road conditions and the receiver’s latest acceptance time. Give us both addresses and the actual deadline. We assess the complete job before agreeing the delivery plan.

What can a dedicated courier carry?

Courier work can include documents, parts, samples, print, IT equipment, technical cases, boxed stock and suitable bulky or palletised goods. Give the packaged dimensions, quantities and individual weights so we can assess the vehicle, loading and receiving arrangements.

Will a dedicated courier load stay on the same vehicle?

It normally stays on the same vehicle between the agreed collection and delivery points, without a parcel-network sorting hub. Tell us about extra stops, returns or unusual route requirements so the arrangement is clear before booking.

Can I call at night or at the weekend?

Yes. Our phones are answered 24/7/365. Call to discuss the load and confirm a suitable vehicle and plan. Someone must be available to release the goods and accept them at the agreed times.

How will I receive delivery updates and proof of delivery?

Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available. Agree the updates and evidence you need when booking, including a named recipient, signature, photograph or delivery reference.

Haulage, vehicles and unloading

Do I need a courier or a haulage arrangement?

Start with the goods and deadline. An urgent part, technical case or suitable pallet may need a courier. Heavier freight, larger volumes, specialist bodies or repeat loads may need haulage. Send the load and site details and we will help you choose.

Can you arrange dedicated pallet transport in Inverness?

Yes, we assess dedicated pallet movements with collection, delivery and a suitable vehicle agreed for the job. Send the loaded footprint, height, individual weights, quantity, stackability and loading at both ends. Synergix does not offer pallet-network services.

Can you discuss full loads, part loads and regular deliveries?

Yes. Full loads, regular haulage and supported part-load arrangements can be discussed. Agree the body, loading, collection window and delivery plan. Part-load availability is assessed individually; it is not a pallet-network product.

How do I choose a van or lorry, and can LoadCheck help?

Measure each item as it will travel, including packaging, the pallet and overhang. Enter packaged dimensions, weights and quantities into LoadCheck for an initial size estimate. Our team confirms actual fit, usable payload, apertures, restraint, equipment, access and availability.

What if the delivery site has no forklift?

Tell us before booking. A suitable tail lift, mounted forklift, crane or agreed crew may be an option, depending on the goods and site. Send item weights, dimensions, fork access or lifting points, ground conditions and final placement. These handling methods solve different problems and must be agreed.

When must I request an electric pump truck?

Under Synergix’s booking rule, request an electric pump truck when pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more. Lighter pallets may also need powered handling. Platform load, footprint, ground and the actual equipment still need checking.

Can you assess a crane or mounted-forklift delivery?

Yes. Send the precise goods, individual weights, dimensions, lifting points or fork access, required placement and photographs of the unloading area. Crane reach and support conditions differ from forklift access. Suitability, equipment and availability are confirmed for the job.

Can you arrange refrigerated transport or event refrigeration?

We can assess both, with the product, required temperature and handover agreed. Refrigerated transport moves goods under an agreed temperature arrangement. Stationary event refrigeration provides storage at a venue. Tell us which you need, the duration, access and any power requirement.

Inverness access and local handovers

What details do you need for an Inverness Campus delivery?

Give the exact building, department, goods entrance, named contact and appointment. Send packaged dimensions and weights, with protection or temperature needs. Identify chemicals, batteries, biological material or other regulated goods before acceptance. A campus postcode alone does not identify the right handover.

Can you assess equipment and components for a manufacturing site?

Yes, from the actual goods and receiving requirements. Send the packaged load, individual weights, ready time and authorised contact. Tell us about protection, upright-only and non-stackable conditions. Ordinary production equipment, medical products and regulated samples can need different arrangements, so identify the contents before acceptance.

What matters for a Port of Inverness road delivery?

Send the receiving operator, agreed gate, appointment reference and contact. Give the load breakdown and confirm unloading equipment. Agree where the road job ends and any additional handling required. A port's lifting or storage facilities do not automatically form part of a courier or haulage booking.

How do A9 works affect a timed collection or delivery?

Check current project updates and live conditions before the journey. Give the exact ready time, both addresses and the latest acceptance time, allowing for loading and unloading. A forecast completion date does not prove a road or junction is open, and a mileage estimate does not establish a delivery commitment.

Can the same timing be used for every Highland address?

No. Send the full collection and delivery addresses, receiving windows and vehicle limits. A city address, narrow rural approach and distant Highland destination have different access and journey requirements. We assess the actual route and deadline before confirming the plan.

Is an onward ferry included with a mainland collection?

It must be agreed separately in the booking. Identify the operator, sailing or carrier arrangement, vehicle acceptance and the exact handover point. Confirm who books and pays for each stage and who receives the goods. A mainland road quote does not establish a reserved sailing or final island delivery.

Price, booking and changes

What affects the price of an Inverness courier or haulage job?

Vehicle positioning, route distance, body type, deadline, waiting, loading, extra stops, handling equipment and additional labour affect the quote. Send accurate goods and site details. We price the actual arrangement rather than applying one mileage rate to every load.

How do I book, and what happens if the job changes?

Request a quote or call with both addresses, packaged dimensions, individual and total weights, quantities, ready time, deadline, contacts and handling at both ends. We confirm the vehicle, plan and price for the booking. Tell us promptly about added goods, delayed release or a changed slot so we can reassess.

Can you discuss warehousing, retail distribution or two-person delivery?

Yes. Send the usual route, frequency, volumes, receiving windows and seasonal peaks. Warehousing, cross-docking, retail distribution and agreed two-person handling can be considered within a wider arrangement. Storage location, handling scope, availability and commercial terms are agreed separately.
