01 / Same-day & dedicated courier

Edinburgh Airport courier.
A direct delivery.

A released consignment, replacement component or urgent stock delivery needs its exact ready time and receiving deadline. We assess the agreed road leg, suitable vehicle and handover. A flight arrival, passenger terminal address or general airport name does not establish cargo availability or the correct goods entrance.

Urgent business consignments

Documents, engineering parts, samples, tools, print, boxed stock and IT equipment can all need a dedicated courier. The smallest suitable vehicle depends on the packaged goods, not the label “parcel”. Send the quantity, dimensions and weights.

A server, delicate prototype or finished component needs packaging that protects it during loading and travel. Tell us if it must stay upright, cannot be stacked or needs a named recipient.

Pallets and bulky items

Courier work can include a suitable pallet or bulky consignment. We check the vehicle aperture, usable space, payload and unloading method. A pallet does not automatically fit a van just because it fits on the floor.

For heavier loads, several pallets or specialised unloading, see the haulage guidance. You can enquire without choosing the lorry first.

How quickly can we collect?

A van collection may be possible in around 45 minutes, subject to a suitable available vehicle, goods readiness and access. At the airport, the cargo or receiver must also authorise the handover at the correct entrance. Collection timing is not a cargo-release, screening, flight-cutoff or airside-access guarantee. Call with the handler, reference, ready time and deadline. Truck and specialist movements need individual planning.

Collection speed is only part of the plan. Tell us when the goods will be released, how long loading will take and the receiver’s latest acceptance time. For an export delivery, give the handler’s actual cargo acceptance deadline and booking reference. Allow for release at the sender, loading, roads, receiving checks and unloading. Passenger check-in or flight departure time is not the goods deadline. For imports, the handler must confirm cargo release before the driver attends the agreed collection point.

Edinburgh Airport collections and onward UK delivery

For a Turnhouse Road cargo receiver, airport supplier, Ingliston venue or neighbouring business, identify the actual handler, unit and goods-in contact. Provide the Air Waybill (AWB) or delivery reference where applicable, released status, quantities, weights and loading method. A flight landing time alone does not tell us when goods can be collected.

Confirm whether the job ends at a landside handler, workshop, shop goods-in or another authorised receiver. Declare batteries, cylinders, temperature-sensitive or regulated contents before quotation. State any screening, customs, bonded-stock or other controls and who is responsible, so the road movement can be assessed without assuming wider acceptance.

Updates, proof of delivery and repeat work

Our team remains your contact for the movement. Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available; agree any named-recipient, signature, photograph or reference requirements when booking.

We also assess scheduled supplier collections, branch transfers, multi-stop work and repeat courier routes. Phones are answered 24/7/365. The vehicle, crew and access at each end are confirmed for the booking.

02 / General & dedicated haulage

Edinburgh Airport haulage.
Planned around the load.

For dedicated pallet transport, heavier engineering freight or a regular trailer movement, Synergix arranges the vehicle and driver around your load, handling and receiving requirements. Options include 7.5t, 18t and 26t rigids, full artics and suitable specialist configurations.

Dedicated pallet transport

Tell us the actual loaded footprint, height, weight and whether the freight can be stacked. A nominal pallet size does not include a crate, machine or packaging that projects beyond it.

We arrange a dedicated vehicle for your palletised goods, with collection, delivery and loading agreed for your job. Our team coordinates the movement and remains your point of contact. Tell us about fragile freight, specific handling or a timed delivery when booking.

Full loads, part loads and repeat work

A full vehicle can support larger consignments, stock transfers, production schedules and loads needing dedicated capacity. Agree the body, floor space, payload and loading order.

Part-load haulage can also be discussed where a suitable arrangement is available. Agree its collection window, delivery plan and handling before booking. For regular work, send your collection frequency, usual volumes, busy periods, site opening hours and return-load requirements.

Choose the body as well as the lorry size

Box and curtainsider

A box body uses its specified door opening and loading arrangement. A curtainsider can allow suitable forklift loading from the side. Check clear aperture, side access and restraint; curtains alone are not a universal load-securing system.

Flatbed, crane and mounted forklift

Long material, machinery or a delivery without a forklift may need a different body or handling method. A HIAB-type crane and MOFFETT-type forklift do different jobs. Supply load weights, lifting points or fork access, required reach and site photographs.

Temperature-controlled loads

Specify the product, required temperature, collection condition, packaging and monitoring or handover records. A refrigeration unit changes the vehicle specification; confirm its actual payload and space.

Articulated and specialist trailers

Curtainsider, box, refrigerated, flatbed and specialist trailer requirements are assessed individually. A long or heavy item needs its full dimensions, weight distribution and loading plan checked. The illustrated range does not establish suitability for every load.

Getting it off matters just as much

Confirm a forklift, loading dock, tail lift or other agreed equipment at both ends. For a tail-lift delivery, we need the individual item weight, footprint, all weight on the platform, permitted handling method, load centre and the surface beyond the lift.

When pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck. This is Synergix's booking requirement. Lower weights can also need powered handling. A tail lift and pallet truck do not automatically solve gravel, slopes, steps or an unsuitable pallet.

Read our tail-lift and pallet-truck guidance.

Timed deliveries and urgent haulage

Released palletised cargo, trade stock, packed machinery and supplies need their full loaded footprint, height, total and individual weights. Confirm stackability, supports, fork access, lifting points, protection and loading equipment at both ends. A routine load, urgent pallet and oversized assembly need different vehicle, access and receiving assessments. Regular airport-area road movements can be discussed around volumes, ready times, receiving slots, stop order and returns.

Urgent rigid or artic capacity can be assessed by our team. It does not carry the van collection estimate. Vehicle positioning, loading time, traffic, site appointments and applicable driver-hours limits determine the plan. UK, Ireland and European freight may also need ferry and goods-document arrangements.

Local work. Different requirements.

Transport shaped
by Edinburgh Airport.

Airport transport connects cargo handlers, engineering suppliers, food and drink exporters, life-sciences consignments, retail stock and neighbouring venues. Start with the actual road-leg scope, contents, protection and authorised receiving point. The airport’s presence does not make every load suitable for the same vehicle or handling plan.

Released cargo and forwarders

The handler and release point matter

Edinburgh Airport’s primary cargo information describes passenger and dedicated cargo activity serving several export sectors. WFS’s current station information identifies cargo handling and trucking at Turnhouse Centre, EDI Cargo Village on Turnhouse Road. These are receiving points to confirm with the actual shipment, not a substitute for its release instructions.

Give the handler, AWB or delivery reference, released status, full goods entrance and receiving contact. State quantities, packaged dimensions, weights, protection and unloading equipment. Agree the road leg and who handles screening, customs or any onward air movement before booking.

Engineering and protected components

Confirm the actual part and receiver

The airport’s cargo context includes aerospace and energy sectors. In the wider Edinburgh region, Leonardo’s primary information identifies radar, laser and countermeasure engineering at Crewe Toll. That separate manufacturing address is not an airport factory or evidence of a Synergix customer relationship.

For a permitted component, instrument, case or packed assembly, state contents, full dimensions, weights, fragility and orientation. Confirm packaging, restraint, release reference and authorised goods-in. Aircraft-related urgency does not establish airside access, specialist clearance or automatic acceptance of regulated contents.

Food, drink and life sciences

Specify temperature and handling

Edinburgh Airport identifies food and drink, pharmaceutical and life-sciences exports in its primary cargo information. Finished stock, packaging, production equipment and temperature-sensitive goods need their actual transport requirements, rather than a broad sector label.

Give the product, required temperature, collection condition, packaging, quantities and weights, with monitoring or handover records where needed. State any controlled-stock or regulatory requirements before quotation. Suitability, equipment, waiting and the complete receiving plan are confirmed before acceptance.

Airport-area trade and events

Goods-in and final placement

Airport suppliers, neighbouring hotels, Ingliston venues and trade receivers can need planned stock, replacement equipment or a timed delivery. A passenger entrance, shop frontage, venue gate and goods-in bay can have separate loading, vehicle and receiving arrangements.

Discuss retail distribution, warehousing, cross-docking, two-person delivery and specialist handling within the agreed job. Stationary event refrigeration is separate from refrigerated road transport. Give venue, duration, power where relevant, surface, steps and final placement so availability and handling can be checked.

Local sector context: Edinburgh Airport’s cargo context and WFS’s current Edinburgh station and Leonardo’s separate Edinburgh site. Named organisations provide local context, not claims of Synergix customers.

The last mile matters

Routes, loading
& site access.

Confirm the goods entrance before dispatch. Turnhouse Road cargo reception, the passenger campus, an airport workshop and a neighbouring venue have different arrival points and access requirements. The map identifies airport geography; the receiver confirms the lawful approach and handover.

Cargo Village and Turnhouse Road

Use the actual handler’s current receiving instructions. WFS’s station page identifies Turnhouse Centre, EDI Cargo Village, Turnhouse Road, EH12 0AL. Check the unit, gate, slot, AWB or reference, release status and equipment for the shipment rather than dispatching to a general passenger postcode.

For imports, confirm the goods have been released to the named collector. For exports, obtain the handler’s cargo acceptance time and booking requirements. A road booking does not automatically include screening, customs clearance, bonded handling or air transport, and arrival at a gate does not prove cargo acceptance.

Passenger approaches and estate receivers

The airport’s passenger approach information describes A8 Glasgow Road and Eastfield Road. Passenger pick-up and drop-off routes serve a different purpose from cargo receiving or an HGV goods delivery. Confirm the actual estate receiver’s lawful entrance and vehicle instructions.

For a workshop, supplier, hotel, shop or venue, give the unit, gate, receiving contact, booking reference and unloading point. Check height, turning, surface, bay and final-placement constraints. A passenger parking entitlement or airport postcode is not goods-in permission.

Permissions and contractor handovers

Edinburgh Airport’s ID scheme information and contractor-control guidance describe separate authorisation processes. Work on campus and a simple landside goods handover can have different requirements; ask the receiver to confirm the scope.

State whether the handover is landside or needs controlled-area access, an escort, permit, induction or pre-registration. Confirm who arranges the required authorisations and that they cover the actual driver, vehicle and task. Booking road transport does not establish an airport pass, airside entitlement or regulated-agent status.

Current roads and timed arrivals

Check the council’s roadworks and travel disruption information, current trunk-road updates and receiver instructions for the chosen route. A8 approaches, onward motorway connections and the final goods entrance need the actual assigned vehicle’s access considered. A geographic map is not an HGV route approval.

Allow for goods release, loading, road conditions, receiving checks, queues and unloading in the complete deadline. Nearby events can affect approaches on their actual dates. An older June event warning is not a current October closure, and passenger check-in advice does not define cargo acceptance.

Confirm the last few metres

Describe the ground, slope, kerb, steps, loading bay and final placement. Photos help with a narrow yard or awkward entrance. A tail lift lowers goods; it does not move a pallet over gravel, up steps or through a doorway.

Edinburgh Airport and surrounding areas

Where is your
collection?

We assess Edinburgh Airport and surrounding collections and deliveries, with onward UK road transport. Specify the actual cargo handler, airport receiver or neighbouring address. These are coverage areas, not Synergix airport premises or fixed boundaries. Cargo release, vehicle suitability, access, loading and the final receiving slot are confirmed for the job.

Airport cargo and estate receivers

Agreed Turnhouse Road Cargo Village, airport campus, workshop and supplier goods-in points, each individually confirmed.

Name the handler/receiver, gate, AWB or reference, release status, receiving time and loading equipment.

Neighbouring west Edinburgh addresses

Proposed Ingliston, Turnhouse, Gogar, Newbridge, Ratho Station and other surrounding receivers.

Give both full addresses and the lawful approach, actual goods entrance, vehicle limits and final placement.

Edinburgh and the Central Belt

Individually assessed road work with Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife, Glasgow and other Central Belt addresses.

Check goods readiness, route, suitable vehicle, access, loading and the complete receiving deadline.

Onward UK road transport

Agreed dedicated courier, general haulage and regular road movements to or from further UK receiving points.

Price and scope follow the actual job. Any ferry, air, customs or controlled-area requirement is separately identified and assessed.

A useful enquiry. A clearer quote.

Tell us the job.
We will help plan it.

  1. The two addressesCollection and delivery postcodes, company/unit names, goods entrances and a contact at each end.
  2. What needs movingGoods description, item or pallet count, packaged dimensions, total and individual weights, stackability and photographs where useful.
  3. When it is readyDate, ready time, latest arrival, goods-in closing time and any booked slot or reference. Identify fixed deadlines.
  4. How it will be handledForklift, dock, tail lift, pallet truck, crane or crew at both ends. Include surface, aperture and vehicle-access limits.
  5. Any special requirementFragile finish, temperature, regulated goods, multiple stops, returnable packaging, returns or agreed final placement.
  6. Updates and repeat workYour preferred contact, delivery evidence and, for regular transport, frequency, expected volumes and seasonal peaks.

What affects the price?

Vehicle positioning, loaded distance, vehicle/body type and time at collection and delivery all contribute. Waiting, additional stops, handling equipment, extra labour, route charges and a return journey can alter the quote.

For ferry or European work, route timing and goods-document requirements also matter. We quote the actual movement; there is no single Edinburgh Airport mileage price that fits every load.

What happens if something changes?

Tell us promptly about an extra pallet, heavier item, delayed release, changed entrance or missed slot. We can reassess the vehicle, deadline and cost before an unsuitable arrangement causes a problem.

An enquiry is the start of the conversation. Vehicle allocation, timing, handling and price are confirmed for the booking.

Courier and haulage
coverage at Edinburgh Airport.

Edinburgh Airport and the surrounding area

The map identifies Edinburgh Airport and surrounding geography. The airport label belongs to the airport, not Synergix, and is not a specific cargo goods-in or authorised vehicle route. Confirm Turnhouse Road reception or the actual estate receiver separately. Send both full addresses and the correct goods entrances when enquiring.

This is an area map. It does not mark a Synergix office, establish a fixed service boundary or provide HGV routing. Our team confirms collection, delivery and access for the job.

Before you book

Edinburgh Airport transport
questions answered.

Courier, timing and delivery

How quickly can you collect at Edinburgh Airport?

Call with the actual handler or receiver, goods entrance, AWB or reference, released status, ready time and deadline. A van collection may be possible in around 45 minutes, subject to a suitable available vehicle and access. Cargo release, screening, receiving checks and permissions can affect attendance. We confirm the road arrangement; collection timing is not a cargo-release or flight guarantee.

Can you deliver from Edinburgh Airport to another part of the UK on the same day?

Give both addresses, actual goods, released status, ready time and receiving deadline. We assess the suitable available vehicle, loading, road route, permissions and final unloading. A flight landing time is not cargo readiness, and an onward air or ferry movement requires its own agreed arrangements. The achievable road delivery window is confirmed before booking.

What can a dedicated courier carry?

Courier work can include documents, parts, samples, print, IT equipment, technical cases, boxed stock and suitable bulky or palletised goods. Give the packaged dimensions, quantities and individual weights so we can assess the vehicle, loading and receiving arrangements.

Will a dedicated courier load stay on the same vehicle?

It normally stays on the same vehicle between the agreed collection and delivery points, without a parcel-network sorting hub. Tell us about extra stops, returns or unusual route requirements so the arrangement is clear before booking.

Can I call at night or at the weekend?

Yes. Our phones are answered 24/7/365. Call to discuss the load and confirm a suitable vehicle and plan. Someone must be available to release the goods and accept them at the agreed times.

How will I receive delivery updates and proof of delivery?

Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available. Agree the updates and evidence you need when booking, including a named recipient, signature, photograph or delivery reference.

Haulage, vehicles and unloading

Do I need a courier or a haulage arrangement?

Start with the goods and deadline. An urgent part, technical case or suitable pallet may need a courier. Heavier freight, larger volumes, specialist bodies or repeat loads may need haulage. Send the load and site details and we will help you choose.

Can you arrange dedicated pallet transport at Edinburgh Airport?

Yes, we assess dedicated pallet movements with collection, delivery and a suitable vehicle agreed for the job. Send the loaded footprint, height, individual weights, quantity, stackability and loading at both ends. Synergix does not offer pallet-network services.

Can you discuss full loads, part loads and regular deliveries?

Yes. Full loads, regular haulage and supported part-load arrangements can be discussed. Agree the body, loading, collection window and delivery plan. Part-load availability is assessed individually; it is not a pallet-network product.

How do I choose a van or lorry, and can LoadCheck help?

Measure each item as it will travel, including packaging, the pallet and overhang. Enter packaged dimensions, weights and quantities into LoadCheck for an initial size estimate. Our team confirms actual fit, usable payload, apertures, restraint, equipment, access and availability.

What if the delivery site has no forklift?

Tell us before booking. A suitable tail lift, mounted forklift, crane or agreed crew may be an option, depending on the goods and site. Send item weights, dimensions, fork access or lifting points, ground conditions and final placement. These handling methods solve different problems and must be agreed.

When must I request an electric pump truck?

Under Synergix’s booking rule, request an electric pump truck when pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more. Lighter pallets may also need powered handling. Platform load, footprint, ground and the actual equipment still need checking.

Can you assess a crane or mounted-forklift delivery?

Yes. Send the precise goods, individual weights, dimensions, lifting points or fork access, required placement and photographs of the unloading area. Crane reach and support conditions differ from forklift access. Suitability, equipment and availability are confirmed for the job.

Can you arrange refrigerated transport or event refrigeration?

We can assess both, with the product, required temperature and handover agreed. Refrigerated transport moves goods under an agreed temperature arrangement. Stationary event refrigeration provides storage at a venue. Tell us which you need, the duration, access and any power requirement.

Edinburgh Airport access and local handovers

Is the passenger terminal postcode enough for a cargo collection?

Give the actual cargo handler, unit, goods-in gate, AWB or collection reference and receiving contact. WFS’s current Edinburgh station is identified at Turnhouse Centre, Cargo Village, Turnhouse Road, EH12 0AL. Confirm the correct handover point for your shipment. A general airport postcode or passenger entrance does not identify every cargo receiver or establish access.

Does a flight arrival mean the goods are ready for the driver?

The handler must confirm release and the authorised collection procedure. Provide the AWB or reference, handler, actual gate, quantities, packaged dimensions and weights, with loading equipment and ready time. Any screening, customs or controlled-stock responsibilities must be clear. A flight arrival or quote reference does not prove the cargo is released or available at goods-in.

Can a road delivery automatically include airside access?

Confirm the required receiving area, scope and permissions before booking. State any driver or vehicle pass, escort, induction, pre-registration or permit, and who arranges it. A landside road handover and controlled-area work have separate requirements. Booking a vehicle does not establish an airport pass, airside entitlement, regulated-agent status or cargo acceptance.

Which deadline matters for an export goods delivery?

Get the actual handler’s cargo acceptance deadline and reference, with the right gate, contact and unloading procedure. Give the sender’s release time, loading needs and full goods details so the complete road and receiving plan can be assessed. Passenger check-in and flight departure times are not substitutes for cargo acceptance. Arriving at the gate does not itself prove the load has been accepted.

Can you assess an urgent aircraft-related component for the road leg?

Send the actual contents, packaged dimensions, individual and total weights, protection, release reference and authorised receiving point. Tell us about batteries, cylinders or other regulated contents and any handling or access control before quotation. We assess suitable vehicle availability, the road movement and handover. Urgency does not create airside access, export clearance or specialist acceptance.

Does the airport’s life-sciences cargo profile confirm pharma transport suitability?

Specify the product, required temperature, collection condition, packaging, monitoring, weights and deadline, with any regulatory or handover requirement. Loading, waiting and final receiving must fit the agreed plan. A sector label or cargo location does not establish GDP authorisation, a validated cold chain or acceptance of every medical consignment. Suitability and the actual transport scope are confirmed before booking.

Price, booking and changes

What affects the price of an Edinburgh Airport courier or haulage job?

Vehicle positioning, route distance, body type, deadline, waiting, loading, extra stops, handling equipment and additional labour affect the quote. Send accurate goods and site details. We price the actual arrangement rather than applying one mileage rate to every load.

How do I book, and what happens if the job changes?

Request a quote or call with both addresses, packaged dimensions, individual and total weights, quantities, ready time, deadline, contacts and handling at both ends. We confirm the vehicle, plan and price for the booking. Tell us promptly about added goods, delayed release or a changed slot so we can reassess.

Can you discuss warehousing, retail distribution or two-person delivery?

Yes. Send the usual route, frequency, volumes, receiving windows and seasonal peaks. Warehousing, cross-docking, retail distribution and agreed two-person handling can be considered within a wider arrangement. Storage location, handling scope, availability and commercial terms are agreed separately.
