Your load.
The right vehicle.

Browse the van, rigid, articulated and specialist options, then open a vehicle guide for dimensions, body types and loading advice. You can ask for a particular vehicle or let us work from your load details.

Vehicle illustrations show example bodies. We confirm the actual vehicle, usable space, payload and equipment for your booking. Specialist configurations are subject to suitability and availability.

01 / Same-day & dedicated courier

Dundee courier.
A direct delivery.

If a missing component is holding up production, an event is waiting for its equipment or a customer needs stock today, call with the actual deadline. We arrange dedicated collection and delivery between the agreed points, without a parcel-network sorting hub.

Urgent business consignments

Documents, engineering parts, samples, tools, print, boxed stock and IT equipment can all need a dedicated courier. The smallest suitable vehicle depends on the packaged goods, not the label “parcel”. Send the quantity, dimensions and weights.

A server, delicate prototype or finished component needs packaging that protects it during loading and travel. Tell us if it must stay upright, cannot be stacked or needs a named recipient.

Pallets and bulky items

Courier work can include a suitable pallet or bulky consignment. We check the vehicle aperture, usable space, payload and unloading method. A pallet does not automatically fit a van just because it fits on the floor.

For heavier loads, several pallets or specialised unloading, see the haulage guidance. You can enquire without choosing the lorry first.

How quickly can we collect?

A Dundee van collection may be possible in around 45 minutes, subject to the address, goods and a suitable available vehicle. Call for an estimate for your actual job. A rigid, artic, refrigerated body or specialist handling arrangement needs its own availability check.

Collection speed is only part of the plan. Tell us when the goods will be released, how long loading will take and the receiver’s latest acceptance time. A component released from a Dundee workshop and needed by a Fife receiver before closing must allow for the Tay crossing, loading and the final handover. A late release can change the achievable delivery plan.

Dundee collections and onward UK delivery

Give the exact goods entrance for a Dundee industrial unit, university building or city-centre business. For a port-related delivery, identify the receiving operator and agreed gate. For technical cases or precision components, provide packaged dimensions, individual weights, protection needs and an authorised receiver.

We assess work across central Dundee, the West End, Ninewells, Lochee, Kingsway, the eastern industrial areas and Broughty Ferry, as well as surrounding Tayside. If the destination is across the Tay in Fife, the crossing and current vehicle restrictions form part of the plan. A release time and receiver’s closing time are more useful than a broad request for delivery today.

Updates, proof of delivery and repeat work

Our team remains your contact for the movement. Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available; agree any named-recipient, signature, photograph or reference requirements when booking.

We also assess scheduled supplier collections, branch transfers, multi-stop work and repeat courier routes. Phones are answered 24/7/365. The vehicle, crew and access at each end are confirmed for the booking.

02 / General & dedicated haulage

Dundee haulage.
Planned around the load.

For dedicated pallet transport, heavier engineering freight or a regular trailer movement, Synergix arranges the vehicle and driver around your load, handling and receiving requirements. Options include 7.5t, 18t and 26t rigids, full artics and suitable specialist configurations.

Dedicated pallet transport

Tell us the actual loaded footprint, height, weight and whether the freight can be stacked. A nominal pallet size does not include a crate, machine or packaging that projects beyond it.

We arrange a dedicated vehicle for your palletised goods, with collection, delivery and loading agreed for your job. Our team coordinates the movement and remains your point of contact. Tell us about fragile freight, specific handling or a timed delivery when booking.

Full loads, part loads and repeat work

A full vehicle can support larger consignments, stock transfers, production schedules and loads needing dedicated capacity. Agree the body, floor space, payload and loading order.

Part-load haulage can also be discussed where a suitable arrangement is available. Agree its collection window, delivery plan and handling before booking. For regular work, send your collection frequency, usual volumes, busy periods, site opening hours and return-load requirements.

Choose the body as well as the lorry size

Box and curtainsider

A box body uses its specified door opening and loading arrangement. A curtainsider can allow suitable forklift loading from the side. Check clear aperture, side access and restraint; curtains alone are not a universal load-securing system.

Flatbed, crane and mounted forklift

Long material, machinery or a delivery without a forklift may need a different body or handling method. A HIAB-type crane and MOFFETT-type forklift do different jobs. Supply load weights, lifting points or fork access, required reach and site photographs.

Temperature-controlled loads

Specify the product, required temperature, collection condition, packaging and monitoring or handover records. A refrigeration unit changes the vehicle specification; confirm its actual payload and space.

Articulated and specialist trailers

Curtainsider, box, refrigerated, flatbed and specialist trailer requirements are assessed individually. A long or heavy item needs its full dimensions, weight distribution and loading plan checked. The illustrated range does not establish suitability for every load.

Getting it off matters just as much

Confirm a forklift, loading dock, tail lift or other agreed equipment at both ends. For a tail-lift delivery, we need the individual item weight, footprint, all weight on the platform, permitted handling method, load centre and the surface beyond the lift.

When pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck. This is Synergix's booking requirement. Lower weights can also need powered handling. A tail lift and pallet truck do not automatically solve gravel, slopes, steps or an unsuitable pallet.

Read our tail-lift and pallet-truck guidance.

Timed deliveries and urgent haulage

A port appointment, machinery collection from an industrial unit or repeat stock load needs the receiving operator, unit or gate, booking reference and contact. Send the load breakdown, fork access or lifting points, vehicle limits and unloading method. For a Fife delivery, check crossing conditions as well as the destination yard.

Urgent rigid or artic capacity can be assessed by our team. It does not carry the van collection estimate. Vehicle positioning, loading time, traffic, site appointments and applicable driver-hours limits determine the plan. UK, Ireland and European freight may also need ferry and goods-document arrangements.

Local work. Different requirements.

Transport shaped
by Dundee.

Dundee brings together electronics, aerospace and defence engineering, life-science research, industrial innovation and working-port activity. A protected test case, a replacement assembly and a scheduled pallet load need different vehicles, loading methods and receiving arrangements.

Aerospace and defence electronics

Precision components and test equipment

Dundee’s electronics industry includes Smiths Interconnect’s manufacturing and development facility for aerospace and defence, with fibre-optic and radio-frequency components. Precision components, tooling and test equipment need protective packaging and a clearly agreed handover.

Send the precise goods description, packaged sizes, weights and required protection. Use the sender’s specified transit packaging and identify any handling or security condition before acceptance. Agree the authorised receiving contact, release time and delivery evidence. Specialist clearances or controlled-goods acceptance must be assessed for the actual movement.

Spacecraft engineering

Development hardware and technical cases

STAR-Dundee develops spacecraft data-handling technology and supplies test and development equipment. Hardware moving between a developer, supplier and test location can need careful packaging and a named handover rather than an unattended drop.

Identify the cases and any equipment that must remain upright, cannot be stacked or needs protection from impact. Give the supplier’s release time and exact receiving building. A dedicated courier can be assessed from the packed load; the equipment’s purpose does not establish an automatic vehicle or handling choice.

University and life sciences

Laboratory equipment and supplier movements

The University of Dundee’s Drug Discovery Unit brings together several research and development disciplines. Equipment, consumables, technical cases and other supplier goods can move between a campus building, workshop and receiving team.

Give the building, department and goods entrance, not just a campus postcode. State the packaged dimensions and weights, temperature conditions and handover requirements. Identify chemicals, batteries, biological material or other regulated goods before acceptance. An ordinary equipment movement and a regulated sample shipment require different checks.

Port of Dundee

Marine, energy and industrial supply

Forth Ports identifies Dundee as a working hub for offshore energy, project activity and regional agriculture, timber and construction supply. A supplier part, palletised equipment and a large project assembly require different handling and receiving plans.

Send the operator, agreed port gate, load description, appointment reference and unloading arrangements. A delivery to a shoreside receiving point differs from lifting or vessel work. Port infrastructure and heavy-lift capability do not establish the capacity of the road vehicle or equipment booked for your load.

MSIP and industrial businesses

Prototypes, machinery and production supplies

MSIP’s Dundee site brings together businesses, manufacturers and innovation partners. Prototype equipment, machinery parts, packaged assemblies and production supplies can need a direct collection or a scheduled haulage arrangement.

For machinery, send dimensions, weight distribution, fork access or lifting points, protection and photographs. Confirm how the goods will pass through the door or be loaded from the side. For repeat movements, give the frequency, usual volumes and receiving hours so the complete transport requirement can be assessed.

City businesses and Broughty Ferry

Commercial stock and bulky deliveries

A shop replenishment, office equipment move or delivery of fittings can involve limited street access and a final handover away from the vehicle. City-centre restrictions and the receiver’s loading arrangements need checking together.

Tell us the legal loading point, final placement, lifts, steps and access limits. Agreed two-person handling can be assessed for bulky goods, with assembly or installation scoped separately. For event equipment or stationary refrigeration hire, agree the delivery slot, positioning, power and later collection requirements.

Local sector context: Smiths Interconnect Dundee facility and STAR-Dundee engineering and Port of Dundee and MSIP Dundee. Named organisations provide local context, not claims of Synergix customers.

The last mile matters

Routes, loading
& site access.

A Dundee load can travel via Kingsway, arrive at a city-centre receiving point or cross the Tay into Fife. The actual body, final entrance and current road conditions matter as much as the distance between postcodes.

City-centre LEZ and loading access

Dundee has a city-centre Low Emission Zone. Check the council’s current boundary and the actual vehicle’s eligibility before an entry. Scotland’s LEZ system does not offer prepayment to avoid a penalty for a non-compliant vehicle.

The emissions check is separate from loading permission, bus restrictions and temporary works. Send the receiver’s goods entrance, legal loading point and acceptance window. A delivery address does not automatically allow a van or lorry to stop outside the door.

Tay Road Bridge and weather

The Tay Road Bridge connects Dundee and Fife. Its operator applies wind restrictions to vulnerable vehicles, which can include certain vans as well as lorries. Check the current restrictions against the actual vehicle and body before planning the crossing.

Allow for a revised route or timing if the bridge is restricted or closed. A lighter or smaller vehicle is not automatically exempt. Give the full load and receiving deadline so suitability and the route can be considered together. Live operator instructions take precedence over a normal journey estimate.

Port gate, operator and unloading

Confirm the operator, authorised receiving point, gate and appointment for any Port of Dundee delivery. A port office address or map centre is not a goods entrance. Send current security, PPE and site instructions before dispatch.

Agree the unloading equipment and who operates it. A pallet may need a forklift or dock; machinery or awkward assemblies need their own handling plan. Road delivery does not by itself include quayside lifting, vessel work or unrestricted access to operational areas.

Industrial and campus entrances

Give the unit and yard for industrial collections around Kingsway, Dunsinane, Dryburgh or the eastern city. For university and research deliveries, identify the exact building and receiving contact. A postcode can point to a visitor entrance.

Describe turning space, gradients, narrow doors, overhead limits and the distance from the vehicle to final placement. Check live road conditions on the A90, A92 and connecting streets before a booked slot. Forklift, dock, tail lift and crew requirements must be confirmed at both ends.

Confirm the last few metres

Describe the ground, slope, kerb, steps, loading bay and final placement. Photos help with a narrow yard or awkward entrance. A tail lift lowers goods; it does not move a pallet over gravel, up steps or through a doorway.

Dundee and surrounding areas

Where is your
collection?

We assess collections and deliveries across Dundee and the surrounding area, with onward UK transport. These groups help describe the job. They are coverage areas, not Synergix branch locations or fixed service boundaries.

Central Dundee and the waterfront

City centre, City Quay, the waterfront, port area and the West End.

Provide the receiver’s actual goods entrance, legal loading point and appointment. LEZ and site permissions are separate checks.

Western and northern city areas

Ninewells, Menzieshill, Lochee, Dryburgh, Dunsinane, Kingsway, Downfield and Claverhouse.

For an industrial or campus collection, identify the unit or building and loading team. Describe turning space and the final handover.

Eastern Dundee and Broughty Ferry

Whitfield, Douglas, the MSIP area and Broughty Ferry, with Monifieth in the surrounding area.

Send the exact address and receiving details. These are coverage examples, not Synergix premises or a fixed boundary.

Surrounding Tayside and Fife

Longforgan, Invergowrie, nearby Angus destinations, Newport-on-Tay and Tayport, plus onward UK movements assessed from their full addresses.

Surrounding places are distinguished from the city. A Tay crossing, rural approach or timed handover needs its own vehicle and route check.

A useful enquiry. A clearer quote.

Tell us the job.
We will help plan it.

  1. The two addressesCollection and delivery postcodes, company/unit names, goods entrances and a contact at each end.
  2. What needs movingGoods description, item or pallet count, packaged dimensions, total and individual weights, stackability and photographs where useful.
  3. When it is readyDate, ready time, latest arrival, goods-in closing time and any booked slot or reference. Identify fixed deadlines.
  4. How it will be handledForklift, dock, tail lift, pallet truck, crane or crew at both ends. Include surface, aperture and vehicle-access limits.
  5. Any special requirementFragile finish, temperature, regulated goods, multiple stops, returnable packaging, returns or agreed final placement.
  6. Updates and repeat workYour preferred contact, delivery evidence and, for regular transport, frequency, expected volumes and seasonal peaks.

What affects the price?

Vehicle positioning, loaded distance, vehicle/body type and time at collection and delivery all contribute. Waiting, additional stops, handling equipment, extra labour, route charges and a return journey can alter the quote.

For ferry or European work, route timing and goods-document requirements also matter. We quote the actual movement; there is no single Dundee mileage price that fits every load.

What happens if something changes?

Tell us promptly about an extra pallet, heavier item, delayed release, changed entrance or missed slot. We can reassess the vehicle, deadline and cost before an unsuitable arrangement causes a problem.

An enquiry is the start of the conversation. Vehicle allocation, timing, handling and price are confirmed for the booking.

Before you book

Dundee transport
questions answered.

Courier, timing and delivery

How quickly can you collect in Dundee?

A van collection may be possible in around 45 minutes, subject to the exact address, goods and a suitable available vehicle. Call with the ready time and delivery deadline for an estimate. Lorries, refrigerated bodies and specialist equipment need their own positioning and availability check.

Can you deliver from Dundee to another part of the UK on the same day?

It may be possible, depending on when the goods are released, loading time, vehicle position, distance, road conditions and the receiver’s latest acceptance time. Give us both addresses and the actual deadline. We assess the complete job before agreeing the delivery plan.

What can a dedicated courier carry?

Courier work can include documents, parts, samples, print, IT equipment, technical cases, boxed stock and suitable bulky or palletised goods. Give the packaged dimensions, quantities and individual weights so we can assess the vehicle, loading and receiving arrangements.

Will a dedicated courier load stay on the same vehicle?

It normally stays on the same vehicle between the agreed collection and delivery points, without a parcel-network sorting hub. Tell us about extra stops, returns or unusual route requirements so the arrangement is clear before booking.

Can I call at night or at the weekend?

Yes. Our phones are answered 24/7/365. Call to discuss the load and confirm a suitable vehicle and plan. Someone must be available to release the goods and accept them at the agreed times.

How will I receive delivery updates and proof of delivery?

Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available. Agree the updates and evidence you need when booking, including a named recipient, signature, photograph or delivery reference.

Haulage, vehicles and unloading

Do I need a courier or a haulage arrangement?

Start with the goods and deadline. An urgent part, technical case or suitable pallet may need a courier. Heavier freight, larger volumes, specialist bodies or repeat loads may need haulage. Send the load and site details and we will help you choose.

Can you arrange dedicated pallet transport in Dundee?

Yes, we assess dedicated pallet movements with collection, delivery and a suitable vehicle agreed for the job. Send the loaded footprint, height, individual weights, quantity, stackability and loading at both ends. Synergix does not offer pallet-network services.

Can you discuss full loads, part loads and regular deliveries?

Yes. Full loads, regular haulage and supported part-load arrangements can be discussed. Agree the body, loading, collection window and delivery plan. Part-load availability is assessed individually; it is not a pallet-network product.

How do I choose a van or lorry, and can LoadCheck help?

Measure each item as it will travel, including packaging, the pallet and overhang. Enter packaged dimensions, weights and quantities into LoadCheck for an initial size estimate. Our team confirms actual fit, usable payload, apertures, restraint, equipment, access and availability.

What if the delivery site has no forklift?

Tell us before booking. A suitable tail lift, mounted forklift, crane or agreed crew may be an option, depending on the goods and site. Send item weights, dimensions, fork access or lifting points, ground conditions and final placement. These handling methods solve different problems and must be agreed.

When must I request an electric pump truck?

Under Synergix’s booking rule, request an electric pump truck when pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more. Lighter pallets may also need powered handling. Platform load, footprint, ground and the actual equipment still need checking.

Can you assess a crane or mounted-forklift delivery?

Yes. Send the precise goods, individual weights, dimensions, lifting points or fork access, required placement and photographs of the unloading area. Crane reach and support conditions differ from forklift access. Suitability, equipment and availability are confirmed for the job.

Can you arrange refrigerated transport or event refrigeration?

We can assess both, with the product, required temperature and handover agreed. Refrigerated transport moves goods under an agreed temperature arrangement. Stationary event refrigeration provides storage at a venue. Tell us which you need, the duration, access and any power requirement.

Dundee access and local handovers

Can you collect precision components or technical cases in Dundee?

We can assess the movement from the actual packed load. Send the goods description, packaged dimensions, individual weights, protection needs and authorised receiver. Tell us what must stay upright or cannot be stacked. Identify any controlled-goods or security requirements before acceptance so the necessary arrangements can be checked.

Can a van cross the Tay Road Bridge when lorries are restricted?

It depends on the operator’s current restriction and the actual van or body. Certain vans can also be vulnerable to high winds. Check the current vehicle guidance rather than assuming a smaller vehicle is permitted. We assess the load, route and receiver’s deadline together, including any change caused by restrictions or a closure.

What should I send for a Port of Dundee handover?

Give the receiving operator, agreed gate or shoreside receiving point, appointment reference, contact and its current site instructions. Confirm the load breakdown and unloading equipment. Tell us whether the job ends at that handover or involves separately agreed handling. A general port address does not establish access or include vessel work.

How do I arrange an equipment delivery to a university or research building?

Send the exact building, department, goods entrance and named receiving contact, with the opening hours or appointment. Provide packaged sizes and weights and explain any upright-only, temperature or handling condition. Identify chemicals, batteries or regulated biological material before acceptance. A campus postcode alone may lead to the wrong entrance.

Do city-centre deliveries need an LEZ check?

Yes, if the planned route enters the zone, check the actual vehicle’s eligibility and the current Dundee boundary. There is no prepayment option for a non-compliant entry. Legal loading access, street restrictions and receiving hours must also be agreed, so send the goods entrance and the receiver’s instructions.

Can you assess repeat supplier loads around Tayside?

Yes. Send the collection and delivery addresses, frequency, usual quantities, packaged dimensions and weights, busy periods and opening hours. Confirm forklift, dock or other handling at both ends. We discuss the vehicle, collection window and delivery plan for the actual arrangement.

Price, booking and changes

What affects the price of a Dundee courier or haulage job?

Vehicle positioning, route distance, body type, deadline, waiting, loading, extra stops, handling equipment and additional labour affect the quote. Send accurate goods and site details. We price the actual arrangement rather than applying one mileage rate to every load.

How do I book, and what happens if the job changes?

Request a quote or call with both addresses, packaged dimensions, individual and total weights, quantities, ready time, deadline, contacts and handling at both ends. We confirm the vehicle, plan and price for the booking. Tell us promptly about added goods, delayed release or a changed slot so we can reassess.

Can you discuss warehousing, retail distribution or two-person delivery?

Yes. Send the usual route, frequency, volumes, receiving windows and seasonal peaks. Warehousing, cross-docking, retail distribution and agreed two-person handling can be considered within a wider arrangement. Storage location, handling scope, availability and commercial terms are agreed separately.
