Your load.
The right vehicle.

Browse the van, rigid, articulated and specialist options, then open a vehicle guide for dimensions, body types and loading advice. You can ask for a particular vehicle or let us work from your load details.

Vehicle illustrations show example bodies. We confirm the actual vehicle, usable space, payload and equipment for your booking. Specialist configurations are subject to suitability and availability.

01 / Same-day & dedicated courier

Tilbury courier.
A direct delivery.

Tilbury combines port operations, warehouses, industrial suppliers and town businesses. The actual handover may be at a terminal, a separate warehouse or an ordinary commercial unit. Dedicated courier enquiries need the exact packed goods and release arrangements, with direct road movement between agreed points.

Urgent parts and business equipment

Tools, protected equipment, print, IT cases and suitable released commercial stock can require a dedicated vehicle. Give the actual pieces, packed dimensions and weights rather than only a container number or vessel arrival. Identify the business holding the goods and its authorised release reference.

Give the exact business, unit, release reference and named recipient. Include complete packed dimensions, individual weights and protection, orientation or no-stacking instructions. Declare batteries, chemicals, fluids and controlled contents before acceptance.

Commercial stock and suitable pallets

Dedicated enquiries can include boxed stock, print, IT equipment and suitable pallets. Include the loaded footprint, overhang, height, quantity and individual weights. A floor-space fit does not establish door clearance, payload or safe loading.

For a heavy assembly, several pallets or a location without a forklift, describe handling at both ends. Our haulage guidance explains larger bodies and equipment. You can ask us to assess the goods without choosing a lorry first.

Collection readiness and the receiving deadline

Confirm when the goods are packed, cleared for release and ready for loading, then identify the recipient's latest acceptance time and any slot. A factory, campus or venue opening time is not automatically freight receiving permission. Tell us about any change before dispatch.

Call with both addresses and the actual deadline. We confirm a suitable available vehicle and a realistic collection estimate for your job. Specialist bodies and heavier vehicles need their own availability check.

Local collection and onward UK delivery

Collections can be assessed across Tilbury town, individual Thurrock Park units and agreed port-area receiving points. Tilbury2, London Container Terminal and nearby Grays warehouses are separate handovers. London Gateway is another destination near Stanford-le-Hope, rather than the same Tilbury gate.

Give the exact unit, goods entrance, release contact and recipient. A public reception or visitor entrance may not be the freight handover point.

Updates, delivery evidence and regular routes

Our team remains your contact. Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available; agree the named recipient, signature, photograph or reference requirements when booking.

Scheduled supplier collections, branch transfers, multiple stops and repeat courier routes can be assessed. Phones are answered 24/7/365. Timing and loading at every stop are confirmed for the booking.

02 / General & dedicated haulage

Tilbury haulage.
Planned around the load.

For dedicated pallet transport, released packed freight, industrial equipment or regular commercial loads, Synergix arranges the vehicle and driver around your load, handling and receiving requirements. Options include 7.5t, 18t and 26t rigids, full artics and suitable specialist configurations.

Dedicated pallet transport

Tell us the actual loaded footprint, height, weight and whether the freight can be stacked. A nominal pallet size does not include a crate, machine or packaging that projects beyond it.

We arrange a dedicated vehicle for your palletised goods, with collection, delivery and loading agreed for your job. Our team coordinates the movement and remains your point of contact. Tell us about fragile freight, specific handling or a timed delivery when booking.

Full loads, part loads and repeat work

A full vehicle can support larger consignments, stock transfers, production schedules and loads needing dedicated capacity. Agree the body, floor space, payload and loading order.

Part-load haulage can also be discussed where a suitable arrangement is available. Agree its collection window, delivery plan and handling before booking. For regular work, send your collection frequency, usual volumes, busy periods, site opening hours and return-load requirements.

Choose the body as well as the lorry size

Box and curtainsider

A box body uses its specified door opening and loading arrangement. A curtainsider can allow suitable forklift loading from the side. Check clear aperture, side access and restraint; curtains alone are not a universal load-securing system.

Flatbed, crane and mounted forklift

Long material, machinery or a delivery without a forklift may need a different body or handling method. A HIAB-type crane and MOFFETT-type forklift do different jobs. Supply load weights, lifting points or fork access, required reach and site photographs.

Temperature-controlled loads

Specify the product, required temperature, collection condition, packaging and monitoring or handover records. A refrigeration unit changes the vehicle specification; confirm its actual payload and space.

Articulated and specialist trailers

Curtainsider, box, refrigerated, flatbed and specialist trailer requirements are assessed individually. A long or heavy item needs its full dimensions, weight distribution and loading plan checked. The illustrated range does not establish suitability for every load.

Getting it off matters just as much

Confirm a forklift, loading dock, tail lift or other agreed equipment at both ends. For a tail-lift delivery, we need the individual item weight, footprint, all weight on the platform, permitted handling method, load centre and the surface beyond the lift.

When pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck. This is Synergix's booking requirement. Lower weights can also need powered handling. A tail lift and pallet truck do not automatically solve gravel, slopes, steps or an unsuitable pallet.

Read our tail-lift and pallet-truck guidance.

Timed deliveries and urgent haulage

A booked receiving slot at a Tilbury-area warehouse, a factory shutdown or a construction delivery needs more than an arrival postcode. Send the booking reference, goods entrance, vehicle limits, loading method and a contact who can accept the load.

Urgent rigid or artic capacity can be assessed by our team. It does not carry the van collection estimate. Vehicle positioning, loading time, traffic, site appointments and applicable driver-hours limits determine the plan. UK, Ireland and European freight may also need ferry and goods-document arrangements.

Local work. Different requirements.

Transport shaped
by Tilbury.

The following local examples help identify the goods, packing and receiving information needed for an enquiry.

Release before road dispatch

Released port-related commercial goods

Forth Ports identifies Tilbury operations covering a range of cargo and warehouse activity. A road consignment may involve goods released by the responsible terminal or a separate warehouse operator, rather than a complete shipping container.

Give the releasing business, exact goods gate, reference and confirmed ready time. Provide packed dimensions, individual weights and loading equipment. Port entry, customs release, container carriage and unloading need their own arrangements; no permission is inferred from a postcode.

Exact facility and goods

Warehouses and staged receiving

Tilbury-area warehouse enquiries can involve boxed stock, crates or suitable pallets for onward transport. Nearby devanning premises may be outside the port and even in a different town, such as Grays.

State where the actual packed goods will be handed over and whether sorting, storage or palletising is already complete. Give piece count, loading method and receiving slot. Storage, cross-docking and onward distribution are assessed as the arrangements required for the job.

Ordinary supplier enquiries

Industrial suppliers and site equipment

Port-area workshops and commercial units can need tools, protected parts, ordinary equipment and repeat site supplies. Marine or industrial destinations have distinct safety and receiving procedures.

Declare contents, batteries, fluids and controlled materials before acceptance. Supply packed size and weight, protection, authorised contact and reference. A supplier's customer list or the port's defence market does not establish Synergix clearance.

Specific load requirements

Town commerce and declared food requirements

Tilbury shops, offices and venues can need stock, print or equipment at a booked time. Local cold-store activity also makes exact temperature and food-handling requirements relevant to an enquiry.

Declare required conditions, contents, packaging and receiving time before acceptance. Local refrigerated distribution by another operator is not proof that every Synergix vehicle provides a validated cold chain. Extra crew, placement and returns need agreement.

Named organisations describe the local economy. They are not claims of Synergix customers, clearances or site approval.

The last mile matters

Routes, loading
& site access.

Tilbury connects through the A13 and A1089, with the exact terminal or warehouse determining the final approach. Confirm the complete approach, actual goods gate and unloading point for the assigned vehicle. A geographic map does not establish HGV access or permission to enter a controlled site.

A13, A1089 and the actual terminal

Tilbury road approaches connect through the A13 and A1089, but the final route depends on the operator, terminal or warehouse. A general port name does not identify one shared freight entrance.

Obtain current goods directions and vehicle limits. Check major-road conditions for the job date. The future Lower Thames Crossing is not an available shortcut for a current booking.

Gate references and operator permission

For a port or controlled receiving point, supply the actual operator, gate, appointment or release reference and named contact. Terminal safety, driver and vehicle requirements must be confirmed for the proposed job.

Do not use cruise, visitor or corporate-reception directions as freight permission. Goods must be released and ready for the agreed loading method. A vessel arrival time is not automatically a road collection ready time.

Tilbury2 and London Gateway are distinct

Tilbury2 has its own operational approach, while DP World London Gateway is near Stanford-le-Hope with separate access systems. A terminal container appointment is different from an ordinary warehouse goods handover.

Identify the actual business and packed consignment. Whole-container movements and terminal-registration requirements are assessed separately, rather than promised through a standard courier enquiry.

Commercial yards and final unloading

At a Thurrock Park, town or neighbouring warehouse unit, confirm the current tenant, goods entrance, bay and slot. Check gate width, turning space, bay height and safe loading surfaces.

For street receiving, use current restrictions and council loading guidance. Describe slopes, kerbs, steps and apertures. A tail lift does not move pallets across unsuitable ground; extra handling must be agreed.

Tell us the job.
We will help plan it.

  1. The two addressesCollection and delivery postcodes, company/unit names, goods entrances and a contact at each end.
  2. What needs movingGoods description, item or pallet count, packaged dimensions, total and individual weights, stackability and photographs where useful.
  3. When it is readyDate, ready time, latest arrival, goods-in closing time and any booked slot or reference. Identify fixed deadlines.
  4. How it will be handledForklift, dock, tail lift, pallet truck, crane or crew at both ends. Include surface, aperture and vehicle-access limits.
  5. Any special requirementFragile finish, temperature, regulated goods, multiple stops, returnable packaging, returns or agreed final placement.
  6. Updates and repeat workYour preferred contact, delivery evidence and, for regular transport, frequency, expected volumes and seasonal peaks.

What affects the price?

Vehicle positioning, loaded distance, vehicle/body type and time at collection and delivery all contribute. Waiting, additional stops, handling equipment, extra labour, route charges and a return journey can alter the quote.

For ferry or European work, route timing and goods-document requirements also matter. We quote the actual movement; there is no single Tilbury mileage price that fits every load.

What happens if something changes?

Tell us promptly about an extra pallet, heavier item, delayed release, changed entrance or missed slot. We can reassess the vehicle, deadline and cost before an unsuitable arrangement causes a problem.

An enquiry is the start of the conversation. Vehicle allocation, timing, handling and price are confirmed for the booking.

Before you book

Tilbury transport
questions answered.

Courier, timing and delivery

How quickly can you collect in Tilbury?

A van collection may be possible in around 45 minutes, subject to the address, goods and a suitable available vehicle. Call with the ready time and deadline for an estimate. Lorries, refrigerated vehicles and specialist equipment need their own availability and positioning check.

Can you deliver from Tilbury to London on the same day?

It may be possible, depending on when the goods are ready, loading time, vehicle position, road conditions and the receiver’s latest acceptance time. Give us both addresses and the actual deadline. We assess the complete movement before confirming a plan.

Will my dedicated courier delivery stay on the same vehicle?

A dedicated courier movement normally stays on the same vehicle between the agreed collection and delivery points, without a parcel-network sorting hub. Tell us about additional stops, a return collection or any unusual route requirement so the arrangement is clear before booking.

Can I call at night, at weekends or on bank holidays?

Yes. Our phones are answered 24/7/365. Call to discuss the movement and confirm the suitable vehicle, handling and receiving arrangements. Someone must be available to release the goods and accept them at the proposed times.

How will I know the goods have been delivered?

Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available. Agree the updates and receiving evidence you need when booking, including any named-recipient, signature, photograph or delivery reference requirement.

What happens if collection is delayed or the delivery slot changes?

Contact our team promptly. A later release, changed receiving slot or additional waiting can affect the vehicle, driver schedule, arrival plan and cost. Give us the new ready time and receiver’s instructions so we can reassess the movement.

Haulage, vehicles and handling

Do I need a courier or a haulage service?

Start with what needs moving and the deadline. An urgent component, parcel or suitable pallet may need a dedicated courier. Heavier freight, larger volumes, specialist bodies or repeat work may need a haulage arrangement. Send the load details and we will help you choose.

Can you arrange dedicated pallet transport in Tilbury?

Yes, we assess dedicated pallet movements with the vehicle, collection and delivery agreed for the job. Send the loaded footprint, height, individual weights, quantity, stackability and unloading arrangements. Synergix does not offer pallet-network services.

Can you arrange full loads, part loads and regular haulage?

We can discuss full loads, regular work and supported part-load arrangements. The collection window, delivery plan, body, loading method and availability must suit the job. A part-load enquiry is assessed individually; it is not a pallet-network product.

How do I choose the right van or lorry?

Measure each item as it will travel, including packaging, the pallet and any overhang. Give the quantity, individual and total weights, stackability and any orientation limit. We check the actual load space, aperture, working payload, equipment and site access. Vehicle gross weight is not cargo payload.

Can I use LoadCheck before asking for a quote?

Yes. Enter packaged dimensions, item weights and quantities for an initial vehicle-size estimate. Send the result with your enquiry. LoadCheck does not confirm actual vehicle fit, restraint, loading equipment, payload, availability or a booking.

Open LoadCheck

What if the receiving site has no forklift?

Tell us before booking. A suitable tail lift, mounted forklift, crane or agreed handling crew may be an option, but they solve different problems. We need the item weights, dimensions, fork access or lifting points, surface and final placement. Equipment does not come with every vehicle.

When must I request an electric pump truck?

Under Synergix’s booking rule, request an electric pump truck when pallet-truck handling is required for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more. Lighter pallets can need powered handling too. Check the lift and platform capacity, footprint, all weight on the platform, ground and handling method. The threshold is not automatic proof of safe handling.

Do goods need packaging for a dedicated journey?

Yes, they need packaging suitable for the goods and the planned handling. A dedicated vehicle does not remove the risk of movement during loading and travel. Protect fragile surfaces, sharp edges and delicate equipment; tell us about upright-only, non-stackable or special restraint requirements.

Can you provide refrigerated transport or event refrigeration?

We can assess both, with the product, temperature and handover requirements agreed. Refrigerated road transport moves goods under an agreed temperature arrangement. Stationary event refrigeration provides storage at a venue. Explain which you need, the duration, access and any power requirement.

Tilbury access and local handovers

Can you assess onward delivery of goods after container unloading?

Yes, suitable packed goods can be assessed once the responsible operator confirms release and readiness. Give the actual warehouse, reference, piece count, full packed dimensions and weights. Agree loading and receiving slots. Container unloading and whole-container carriage are separate requirements.

Is a ship arrival time enough to arrange collection?

We need the confirmed goods release and ready time, not only vessel arrival. Identify the operator, exact handover, reference and packed load, with current access and loading arrangements. Share changes before dispatch so timing can be reassessed.

Does a Tilbury enquiry include automatic terminal entry?

Entry and receiving must be agreed with the responsible operator. Give the terminal or unit, authorised gate, reference, current driver requirements and site contact. A port postcode, visitor entrance or public map is not permission to enter.

Are Tilbury and London Gateway the same collection point?

They are separate port-area destinations. London Gateway is near Stanford-le-Hope and uses its own operator access systems. Give the exact operator, warehouse or terminal and actual goods gate so the proposed road movement can be assessed correctly.

Price, booking and ongoing work

What affects the price of a Tilbury courier or haulage job?

Vehicle positioning, route distance, body and vehicle type, waiting, unloading, handling equipment, additional stops and the deadline affect the quote. Give accurate load and site details. Tell us about changes before dispatch so we can explain any effect on the arrangement or price.

What information do you need to book?

Send both full addresses and goods entrances, contact details, ready time and latest delivery time, item quantities, packaged dimensions, individual and total weights, stackability and loading equipment at both ends. Include access restrictions, references, photographs and any special handling or temperature requirement.

Can you discuss regular deliveries, warehousing or two-person work?

Yes. Give your usual route, frequency, volumes, receiving windows and seasonal peaks. Warehousing, cross-docking, retail distribution and agreed two-person delivery can be considered as part of a wider arrangement. Storage location, handling scope, availability and commercial terms are agreed separately.

Does sending an enquiry confirm my booking?

No. An enquiry starts the discussion. The vehicle, collection and delivery plan, handling, price and booking acceptance must be confirmed. A generated enquiry reference or LoadCheck result does not establish vehicle allocation or successful email delivery.
