What Synergix provides

Secure holding for non-standard goods.

An unusual item needs a storage plan that considers how it arrives, where it can be supported and how it will leave. We assess suitable packed business goods for managed holding at our Northampton warehouse, then agree the space, protection, receipt checks and authorised release. Extra handling or technical work is not automatically included.

The details which change the job

Types of stock and storage needs.

The practical guide below explains the details for each requirement.

  • Long and irregular goods
  • Machinery and industrial equipment
  • Fragile display and technical items
  • High-value or unusual stock

Project teams and fitters

Discuss packed counters, display plinths and irregular fixtures that need holding before a shop or workplace is ready. Identify finished faces, projecting parts and the order in which complete sets will be needed. Holding should protect the next project stage, not leave its loose components untraceable.

Event and display operators

Crated displays, reusable stands and equipment cases may need holding between programmes. Give the outside case dimensions, components belonging together and the next release dates. Packaging and permitted orientation matter more than whether the item is simply described as event equipment.

Manufacturers and equipment owners

A packed machine or industrial assembly may need temporary space during a premises change or project delay. Supply its support, handling and preparation instructions, including any fluids or batteries. Storage is assessed for the actual item; it is not automatic acceptance of every machine or a servicing contract.

Technical and specialist businesses

A fragile demonstration unit or crated test assembly can need protection from contact, movement or an unsuitable environment. Explain sensitive faces and manufacturer storage conditions. Any condition photographs, unpacking or functional checks need a specific scope; a package receipt does not prove the equipment works.

The wider Synergix fleet

All vehicles. The right equipment for your job.

Our wider fleet supports different transport and unloading requirements. This overview is not a promise that every configuration performs this service. We match the actual vehicle, body, usable capacity and equipment to the load and receiving site.

Match the handling to the job

A HIAB is a loader crane for an assessed lift or placement. A MOFFETT carries an unloading forklift for suitable loads at sites without receiving equipment. Standard-body dimensions and payload do not apply automatically to fitted equipment or refrigerated configurations. Confirm the actual load, ground, access and handling arrangements.

Our booking rule: when pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck. Check the actual equipment and lift/platform capacity, surface, gradient, distance and access. Lower weights can also need powered handling.

How the work happens

From booking to the final release.

Agree the responsibilities at each handover before stock arrives.

  1. Share the item information

Send photographs, packed dimensions and weight, protection, support and handling instructions, duration and release requirements. Declare value and special risks.

  2. Assess and agree the arrangement

We check suitability, available holding space, the handling route and required equipment. Agree responsibilities, receipt checks and charges before arranging arrival.

  3. Receive and identify

Use the agreed unloading method and condition-check scope. Incoming stock receives its individual label or barcode and assigned warehouse location. Keep any unresolved discrepancy for the nominated owner's decision.

  4. Hold as agreed

Keep the item under the accepted storage arrangement. Discuss changes in condition, packaging, value or the next use, and agree any access or inspection rather than assuming technical maintenance is included.

  5. Prepare the release

Authorise the exact item or complete set. Recheck any agreed preparation, collection equipment and receiving access for its next move. Confirm the handover and any additional records required; transport is optional.

Warehouse management

An identity and a recorded location.

We use a warehouse management system. Each incoming stock unit receives its own individual label or barcode and an assigned warehouse location.

01

Receipt and references

Provide the owner, product references, expected quantities and arrival booking. Agree the checking unit: sealed pallet, carton or individual item. Visible damage, shortages and unidentified goods need a clear exception procedure.

02

Location and release

Warehouse identification connects the stock unit with its assigned location. Nominate who can authorise release and use precise references and quantities. Counts, reports, batch rules and integrations need their own agreed scope.

Illustrative warehouse instruction, not a customer record
RecordWhat to specify
ReceiptDisplay crate D1 and component cases D1-A and D1-B. Agree package/condition checks, not a functional equipment test.
IdentificationEach incoming stock unit receives its individual label or barcode and assigned warehouse location.
ReleaseAuthorised instruction for the complete three-package set, with agreed collector, equipment and date.
ExceptionsIdentify any missing case or damaged packaging for the nominated owner's decision before the set leaves.

Agree the important details

What changes the arrangement.

A useful quote starts with the constraints, not just a product name or vehicle size.

01

Use packed measurements

Include skids, cases, handles and protective structures. A machine body measurement may omit the parts which determine warehouse access and transport fit.

02

Confirm the handling method

Forklift access, fork pockets, crane lifts and manual carrying are not interchangeable. State what equipment is available and any manufacturer restrictions. The job may need specialist planning rather than simply adding another person.

03

Separate storage from technical work

Testing, repair, cleaning, installation and regulated connections are not implied by holding the item. Describe any extra task so competence, responsibility and price can be agreed.

New to booking warehouse space?

Measure the whole packed item

Include its crate, skid, feet, handles and projections. Give the longest, widest and highest points, plus photographs from several sides. A supplier packing drawing may be more useful than a product brochure. Mark estimates and tell us if any part is intended to be removed before arrival.

Find the weight and support instructions

Ask the supplier for packed gross weight and any marked lifting points, fork pockets, permitted support areas or balance information. A machine plate may state the machine weight without its case or skid. Do not infer a lifting point from a convenient handle; pass on the manufacturer's information for assessment.

Declare condition and special needs

Explain fragile or finished surfaces, upright-only requirements, anything liable to roll or move, and any temperature, humidity, fluid, battery or stored-energy issue. Send the applicable storage and preparation instructions. Where information is missing, we will identify what must be established before accepting the goods.

An awkward display, not just a large box

For example, a display arrives in a protective crate with a base wider than the unit and a fragile front face. The brief should identify the full packed size, gross weight, support areas, surfaces that must not be contacted and the required release date. Any access or lifting limitation must be resolved before arrival. The crate's appearance alone is not a handling plan.

Practical detail for each requirement

Long and irregular goods

Measure the widest, tallest and longest points in the packed condition, including protrusions. Tell us which surfaces can take support and whether anything may be stacked above. We agree a suitable position and handling route rather than force the item into a standard pallet description.

Machinery and industrial equipment

Supply gross weight, centre-of-gravity information where available, lifting points and any fluids, batteries or stored energy. Goods need to arrive in the agreed safe condition. Storage does not automatically include draining, disconnecting, commissioning or machinery maintenance.

Fragile display and technical items

Identify glass, finished faces, vulnerable corners and manufacturer storage instructions. Suitable cases or protective packaging may be needed. Specify whether condition photographs or a particular inspection are required; an external receipt check cannot prove that sensitive equipment works.

High-value or unusual stock

Declare the goods and value at enquiry, with any security or environmental requirement. Acceptance and applicable cover need confirmation. Secure warehousing is not automatic approval for bullion, controlled goods, fine-art conservation or any value without limit.

Why Synergix?

Stockholding with practical support.

A real warehouse operation, clear stock identification and useful support when plans change.

01

Stock with an identity

Individual warehouse labels or barcodes and assigned WMS locations connect incoming stock to a recorded place, rather than rely on memory or an unlabelled corner.

02

Access around the job

Discuss managed evening and weekend warehouse access or releases. Agree the time and authorised contacts so urgent requirements are planned rather than left to chance.

03

Trusted with demanding programmes

We support national retailers and major event operators, with warehousing, cross-docking and retail logistics in Northampton. Your stockholding can connect to that practical experience without a compulsory transport package.

04

Experience behind the plan

Three generations of family transport experience support practical decisions about goods, handling and timing. We explain the actual arrangements rather than promise every item fits the same service.

05

Support when stock must move

Courier, general haulage, retail distribution and specialist transport are available where suitable. Eligible UK courier collections can be arranged within 60 minutes, subject to the job, location and availability.

06

Clear transport evidence

Booked transport is insured, with tracking and proof of delivery available. Confirm applicable cover and evidence for your movement. These transport benefits do not replace agreed warehouse checks or stock cover.

A useful brief for a useful quote

Tell us what the stock needs.

Send the details below. We will confirm suitable space, the storage period, handling, availability and price before you book.

01

Stock and references

Goods, owner, quantities, product references and receipt unit.

02

Space and conditions

Packed dimensions, loaded weights, stacking limits, value and special requirements.

03

Dates and access

Arrival, expected duration, release pattern and evening or weekend needs.

04

Warehouse work

Counts, inspection, picking, preparation, reporting and collector or transport requirements.

Email your brief to sales@synergixsameday.com. Do not send undeclared goods before acceptance.

For buying teams and repeat bookings

Confirm the job can be accommodated

Give the actual item and packed condition, not only an industry label. Agree the holding method, access and equipment responsibilities before sending goods. A large vehicle on the carousel does not prove the warehouse can receive or store its entire load.

Separate the additional work

Make storage duration and occupied space clear alongside any specialist handling, protective materials, inspection, repacking or final preparation. Disconnection, repair, testing, installation and regulated connections are distinct tasks and must not be assumed from a storage booking.

Set the assurance requirements

Declare goods and value, the required conditions and the receipt/release evidence you need. Confirm applicable acceptance, terms and cover, including any separate transport. Do not infer unlimited high-value acceptance, a validated controlled environment or a specific accreditation.

Plan repeat and project requirements

Share the programme, expected item types and peaks, named decision-maker and supplier-approval questions. Discuss the information, purchase-order process and review points required. Reporting, payment terms and performance commitments need their own agreement.

Before you book

Specialist item storage questions.

Practical answers about the service and what to agree.

Can you store an item which will not fit on a pallet?

Send photographs, packed dimensions, weight, protection and handling details. We assess the item and available position before confirming acceptance. No maximum item size or unrestricted machinery acceptance is promised here.

Will a HIAB solve every heavy-item movement?

No. Crane suitability depends on the load, lifting points, required reach, set-up space and ground. A HIAB, forklift and manual team solve different tasks and must be specified for the actual movement.

Do specialist items need two people?

Sometimes, but team size alone does not establish a safe method. Dimensions, weight distribution, carrying route and lifting aids determine what is required. Send the details and let us assess the handling.

Can you provide climate-controlled storage?

State the required temperature, humidity and evidence requirements at enquiry. We must confirm a suitable arrangement before accepting the goods. Do not assume general warehouse space provides a validated controlled environment.

Is the item inspected when it arrives?

We agree the receipt and condition-checking scope. External photographs, package counts, unpacking and functional tests are different tasks. Make any detailed inspection requirement explicit before the arrival.

How are warehouse goods identified?

Incoming stock units receive their own individual label or barcode and an assigned location in our warehouse management system. Agree the unit, receipt checks and required reports. The WMS does not automatically mean item-level counting, product testing or an external system connection.

Can access be arranged in the evening or at weekends?

Yes, discuss managed access or stock releases with our warehouse team. Confirm the stock references, quantities, authorised person and time. This is planned warehouse access, not unrestricted walk-in access to a self-storage unit.

What affects the price?

Goods, occupied space, duration, handling frequency, checking level and access requirements affect the quote. Declare specialist conditions and peak quantities. Transport, materials and extra warehouse work should be clear rather than hidden in an assumed all-inclusive rate.

How are security and stock cover handled?

We use managed warehouse holding and authorised release arrangements. Declare the stock, value and special risks so acceptance, terms and applicable cover can be confirmed. Insured transport does not automatically define warehouse contents or on-site stock cover.

Can you arrange transport as well?

Yes, suitable collection or onward delivery can be discussed separately. You can also arrange an authorised warehouse collection. Give packed dimensions, gross weights, loading and unloading details, access and required times so the actual vehicle and equipment can be checked.

What photographs and documents help assess an unusual item?

Send views of the whole packed item, base and projections, plus the packing drawing, gross weight and manufacturer support, lifting and storage instructions where available. Identify any fragile faces, battery, fluid or environmental issue. Mark unknowns rather than treating an estimate as confirmed.

Is specialist storage only for very large or heavy items?

No. Fragility, an awkward shape, unusual support or particular storage conditions can matter even when an item is relatively small. Explain what makes the item different and why ordinary storage may not suit it. We assess the actual requirement before acceptance.

Can the item be stored upright or on its side?

Provide the manufacturer's permitted orientation and support instructions. Do not assume an item can be turned simply to use less space or fit a door. The accepted packing, handling route and holding arrangement must suit the actual goods.
