The right stock, prepared for release.

Pick, pack and dispatch

Pick, pack and dispatch support for suitable stock held in our Northampton warehouse. We agree the order, select the specified stock, check and pack it to the approved requirement, label it and hand it over for the booked movement. Whole pallets, sealed cartons and individual-item orders need different procedures and are scoped before work starts.

What Synergix provides

From an approved order to a prepared dispatch.

Picking means selecting the specified goods from held stock. Packing prepares and protects that selection for the agreed journey or receiver. Dispatch is the authorised handover to the collector or transport service. We plan these steps around your stock and order pattern, including what happens when a line is missing or an instruction changes. Storage, extra preparation and delivery have defined scopes, rather than being assumed parts of every order.

The details which change the job

Types of stock and storage needs.

The practical guide below explains the details for each requirement.

  • Whole-pallet and carton picks
  • Item and mixed-order preparation
  • Protective packing and labels
  • Dispatch-ready handover

Business and retail replenishment

Select suitable complete pallets or sealed cartons for a store, trade customer or business site. Define the product code, quantity and unit for every line, whether the original packaging remains sealed, and any destination or retailer labels.

Mixed product orders

Suitable individual items or mixed lines can need more detailed picking and checking. Share actual products, variants, typical line counts and packing examples so we can assess the work. Do not assume an automated online-shop connection or unrestricted parcel-fulfilment service.

Projects, kits and event allocations

Prepare identified components or suitable stock for a project, display or event release. Provide the approved component list, version and quantity per set. Kitting, inserts, bespoke packing and any technical assembly need a defined procedure, not just the instruction to send a complete kit.

The wider Synergix fleet

All vehicles. The right equipment for your job.

Our wider fleet supports different transport and unloading requirements. This overview is not a promise that every configuration performs this service. We match the actual vehicle, body, usable capacity and equipment to the load and receiving site.

Match the handling to the job

A HIAB is a loader crane for an assessed lift or placement. A MOFFETT carries an unloading forklift for suitable loads at sites without receiving equipment. Standard-body dimensions and payload do not apply automatically to fitted equipment or refrigerated configurations. Confirm the actual load, ground, access and handling arrangements.

Our booking rule: when pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck. Check the actual equipment and lift/platform capacity, surface, gradient, distance and access. Lower weights can also need powered handling.

How the work happens

Approve, pick, check, pack and hand over.

The physical work and the decisions around it are both part of a useful preparation plan.

  1. Approve the order

Confirm instructions, available/held stock, pick units, preparation, ready point and any carrier booking.

  2. Pick the specified stock

Locate the identified goods and select the agreed references and quantities. Keep variants, lots or sets distinct where required.

  3. Check the selection

Apply the booked reference, quantity and condition checks. Refer shortages or unsuitable goods to the named decision-maker before packing or release.

  4. Pack and label

Use the approved protection/materials and prepare the agreed final units. Check recipient labels, package count and required dispatch paperwork.

  5. Dispatch and record

Hand the authorised prepared order to the booked collector or movement. Confirm the required dispatch evidence and any remaining or held stock. Delivery is a separate transport stage.

Warehouse management

An identity and a recorded location.

We use a warehouse management system. Each incoming stock unit receives its own individual label or barcode and an assigned warehouse location.

01

Receipt and references

Provide the owner, product references, expected quantities and arrival booking. Agree the checking unit: sealed pallet, carton or individual item. Visible damage, shortages and unidentified goods need a clear exception procedure.

02

Location and release

Warehouse identification connects the stock unit with its assigned location. Nominate who can authorise release and use precise references and quantities. Counts, reports, batch rules and integrations need their own agreed scope.

Illustrative warehouse instruction, not a customer record
RecordWhat to specify
OrderOrder O17: RED-01, two cartons; BLUE-02, four items. Recipient and approved packing instruction supplied.
Pick and checkSelect the exact codes, variants, quantities and units. Refer a shortage or unidentifiable stock instead of choosing a similar product.
Pack and labelUse the agreed protection and package format. Check package count, destination and any required labels/documents.
DispatchMatch the prepared packages to the authorised collection. Warehouse handover record and transport proof of delivery are different records.

Agree the important details

What changes the arrangement.

A useful quote starts with the constraints, not just a product name or vehicle size.

01

Set a clear order-ready point

Agree notice, approval and how amendments are handled. Urgent changes can affect stock selection, materials and the booked collection. There is no universal automatic cut-off or same-day dispatch promise.

02

Agree the shortage decision

Tell us whether to hold the order, release part or request a decision when a line is short. We should not substitute a similar product without permission.

03

Plan returns into the process

Returned goods need identification and a condition decision before becoming available stock. Inspection, repacking and disposal are separate tasks to scope. A return label alone does not make a product saleable.

First order? Start with a sample instruction.

Specify the pick

List the order/reference, owner, exact product/variant code, quantity and unit. One carton is different from one item. Use your supplier or existing stock codes and say if the code is missing or uncertain. Include the recipient and required ready date, not just a carrier label.

Approve the pack

Show suitable sample packaging or the goods' protection instructions. Agree materials, package size/weight, seals, presentation, inserts and labels, including who supplies and approves them. Tell us if packages may be opened, split or rebuilt.

Set decisions before the deadline

Nominate who can authorise a shortage, substitution, changed destination or late amendment. Give the collector's booking/reference and any dispatch documents. If you do not know the packing or transport requirement, send the goods details and ask us to assess the options before confirming the process.

Two order lines, two units of measure

For example, an approved order requests two sealed cartons of RED-01 and four individual items of BLUE-02. The pick list must retain those units. After the agreed quantity/variant check, the blue items are packed using the approved method and the two red cartons are handled as specified. The final package count and labels are checked against the order before the booked collector takes them. Do not substitute four blue cartons or open the red cartons without authority. Illustrative only, not a customer case history.

Practical detail for each requirement

Whole-pallet and carton picks

Provide stock references and quantities in a consistent unit. Tell us if a complete pallet must stay sealed or if cartons can be selected. Any splitting, rebuilding or rewrapping of a pallet needs to be included in the work.

Item and mixed-order preparation

Describe products, order-line quantities, variants and typical order sizes. Supply sample instructions where useful. Item picking and packing are assessed for the actual stock and process; this is not an unrestricted automated ecommerce fulfilment promise.

Protective packing and labels

Agree the materials, product protection, label content and who supplies them. A carrier label does not replace suitable packaging. Bespoke branding, inserts, kits and retailer-specific requirements need a defined specification.

Dispatch-ready handover

Give the booked collection, recipient instructions and required documents. Define what evidence is recorded at release. Preparing an order for dispatch is distinct from carrier delivery and does not itself prove that the recipient has received it.

Why Synergix?

Warehouse preparation with the next handover understood.

Stock identity, practical warehouse experience and suitable transport support help connect the approved order to its next stage.

Identified stock, clearer selections

Our warehouse management system (WMS) gives incoming units individual labels or barcodes and assigned locations. The agreed pick references, units and checks build on that identity; a label alone is not proof of item contents or a completed order.

Managed access and releases

Discuss planned collections and any evening or weekend requirements with the team. Precise references and authority help make the right stock accessible without suggesting unrestricted warehouse walk-in access.

Experience with demanding programmes

We support national retailers and major event operators, with Northampton warehousing, cross-docking and retail logistics. That wider work informs practical conversations about allocation, access and onward delivery.

Family transport knowledge

Three generations of family transport experience support decisions about loads, vehicles and handovers. Stock movement is planned around the actual goods and receiving arrangements, not only a headline vehicle size.

Suitable onward transport

Courier, general haulage, retail distribution and specialist movements can be discussed where needed. Eligible UK courier collections can be arranged within 60 minutes, subject to the job, location and availability; this is not a pick-and-pack completion guarantee.

Clear movement scope

Booked transport is insured, with tracking and proof of delivery available. Confirm applicable cover and evidence. These transport benefits do not replace agreed warehouse receipt/release checks or stock cover.

A useful brief for a useful quote

Send a typical order and the packing requirement.

We will confirm the stock suitability, preparation procedure, timing, handover and quote before you book.

Products and stock

Codes/variants, pick units, quantities, packaging, packed sizes/weights and expected held stock.

Order pattern

Typical/peak orders, lines per order, quantities, ready dates and amendment/shortage authority.

Packing and checks

Sample instructions, protection/materials, opening/repacking, inserts, labels and approval/check level.

Dispatch arrangements

Recipient, collector/transport, documents, booking window, evidence, returns and regular-work requirements.

Email your brief to sales@synergixsameday.com. Confirm acceptance before sending stock.

For buying teams and repeat bookings

Approve a working example

A sample order and packing instruction help define the task. Agree checks, materials and final-unit/label requirements before a repeat run. Product modification, regulated labelling or functional testing are not inferred from packing.

Control changes and exceptions

Agree how orders arrive, the approval/ready point, amendments, shortages and rejected units. Define dispatch records and stock updates. No automatic cut-off, integration, live dashboard or daily report is assumed.

Price the whole process

Compare storage, receipt handling, picks by unit/line, checks, packing labour/materials, labels and collection/transport. Stock variety, order complexity and peaks matter as well as the number of parcels. A generic low per-pick price may not describe the whole job.

Plan repeat work and responsibility

Share forecasts, peaks, supplier-approval and purchase-order requirements. Declare goods/value and confirm acceptance, terms and cover. Agree customer-supplied materials, carrier responsibilities, returns and the point at which warehouse work is complete.

Before you book

Pick, pack and dispatch questions.

Practical answers about the service and what to agree.

Can you pick individual items rather than full pallets?

Discuss the products, references, quantities, order pattern and required checks. We assess and agree item-picking suitability. It is not automatically included in a storage or sealed-pallet receipt booking.

Do you supply packaging?

State the material, protection and presentation required and whether you will provide it. Supply and cost must be agreed. No universal packaging specification or unlimited free materials are included.

Can you include branded inserts or build kits?

Provide the components, version control, sequence and checking requirement. We can discuss an appropriate preparation scope. Regulated labelling, product modification or technical assembly must not be assumed.

Does dispatch mean the order has been delivered?

No. Dispatch is the warehouse handover. Delivery evidence depends on the booked transport service. Tracking and POD can support an arranged movement but do not replace the warehouse picking record.

Is online-shop integration included?

No integration is assumed. Tell us how orders should reach the warehouse and what status data you need back. Software connections, automation and customer dashboards require separate agreement.

What happens when a line is short?

Agree whether to hold, request a decision or dispatch an exact approved part order. Name the decision-maker and any deadline. A similar variant must not be substituted without permission; changes may affect packing and the collection booking.

How is stock identified before picking?

Our warehouse management system (WMS) gives incoming stock units individual labels or barcodes and assigned locations. Your order still needs precise references, quantities and pick units, with any extra contents, batch or serial checks agreed.

Can we change an order close to collection?

Tell us as soon as possible and use the agreed approval route. Work may already have started, packages may be sealed or transport booked. We will review the effect on timing, materials and cost rather than promise a universal amendment cut-off.

Can our own carrier collect?

Yes, by arrangement with authorised collection details and suitable packaging, vehicle/equipment and handover requirements. We can also discuss suitable onward transport. Preparing the order does not include an unbooked delivery service.

What affects the pick, pack and dispatch price?

Stock/order variety, pick unit, lines/quantities, checking, packaging labour/materials, labels, holding, peaks and transport all matter. Supply sample orders and typical/peak volumes so the quote describes the actual work.

What if we do not know the right packaging?

Send the product, packed size/weight, fragility and intended journey/receiver details, plus any manufacturer instructions. We can discuss a suitable preparation scope. A carrier label or a product being boxed already does not prove the packaging is suitable.

Pick, pack and dispatch

Define the order. Prepare it properly. Hand it over clearly.

Send sample orders, stock details and packing/collection requirements. We will agree the work and responsibilities before dispatch starts.
