A secure home for reserve stock.

Long-term storage

Long-term business stock storage in our Northampton warehouse for reserve goods, reusable fixtures and slower-moving inventory. Our warehouse management system (WMS) gives each incoming stock unit its own label or barcode and assigned location. Agree the duration, reviews and managed access or releases with our team.

What Synergix provides

Reserve stock, properly organised.

We provide managed warehouse holding for suitable business stock that needs to stay beyond a temporary delivery gap. Goods are received, identified, assigned a location and held until an authorised release. You can arrange smaller replenishment releases while the remaining stock stays under the agreed storage arrangement.

The details which change the job

Types of stock and storage needs.

The practical guide below explains the details for each requirement.

  • Reserve and replenishment stock
  • Reusable equipment and fixtures
  • Seasonal and slower-moving inventory
  • Phased project reserves

Keep useful space for current work

A retailer can hold reserve lines away from the shop floor, a project team can keep fixtures for later phases, and an operator can store reusable packed equipment between programmes. Explain what will be needed again and when, so storage supports the work rather than becoming an overlooked pile of surplus goods.

A managed warehouse, not your own unit

We agree receipt, holding and release with you. This is not a room with unrestricted self-service access. Managed evening and weekend requirements can be arranged with the team. Counting, stock rotation, inspection, reporting and transport are scoped to the booking rather than automatically included in every long stay.

The wider Synergix fleet

All vehicles. The right equipment for your job.

Our wider fleet supports different transport and unloading requirements. This overview is not a promise that every configuration performs this service. We match the actual vehicle, body, usable capacity and equipment to the load and receiving site.

Match the handling to the job

A HIAB is a loader crane for an assessed lift or placement. A MOFFETT carries an unloading forklift for suitable loads at sites without receiving equipment. Standard-body dimensions and payload do not apply automatically to fitted equipment or refrigerated configurations. Confirm the actual load, ground, access and handling arrangements.

Our booking rule: when pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck. Check the actual equipment and lift/platform capacity, surface, gradient, distance and access. Lower weights can also need powered handling.

How the work happens

From booking to the final release.

Agree the responsibilities at each handover before stock arrives.

  1. Plan the holding period

Describe the goods, likely duration, normal and peak quantities, access pattern and eventual destination. Flag conditions that ordinary ambient storage will not satisfy.

  2. Agree receipt and put-away

Confirm space, packaging, unloading and receipt checks. Incoming stock receives its individual label or barcode and assigned warehouse location.

  3. Hold with clear references

Keep ownership, packing units and complete sets unambiguous. Agree any rotation or stock-count procedure before relying on it.

  4. Review and release

Use the agreed review points to discuss changed stock, value or requirements. Authorise exact quantities and arrange the collector, managed access or optional onward transport.

  5. Close the holding

Agree the final stock selection, any preparation and collection window. Review remaining or disputed units before treating the holding as cleared; disposal is not assumed.

Warehouse management

An identity and a recorded location.

We use a warehouse management system. Each incoming stock unit receives its own individual label or barcode and an assigned warehouse location.

01

Receipt and references

Provide the owner, product references, expected quantities and arrival booking. Agree the checking unit: sealed pallet, carton or individual item. Visible damage, shortages and unidentified goods need a clear exception procedure.

02

Location and release

Warehouse identification connects the stock unit with its assigned location. Nominate who can authorise release and use precise references and quantities. Counts, reports, batch rules and integrations need their own agreed scope.

Illustrative warehouse instruction, not a customer record
RecordWhat to specify
ReceiptProduct A, 12 sealed cartons. Item count not assumed.
IdentificationIndividual warehouse label or barcode and assigned location.
ReleaseAuthorised instruction for 4 cartons. Confirm date and collector.
Balance and exceptionsAgree the remaining-stock report and any discrepancy review.

Agree the important details

What changes the arrangement.

A useful quote starts with the constraints, not just a product name or vehicle size.

01

Packaging over time

Declare materials sensitive to temperature, moisture, light or pressure. Goods must arrive suitably protected. Standard ambient warehousing should not be mistaken for humidity-controlled, archival or refrigerated storage.

02

Review stock and value

Agree a stock review or count schedule where required. Tell us when ownership, peak value, condition or storage requirements change. Those changes can affect the arrangement and applicable cover.

03

Prepare an exit plan

Allow for stock selection, inspection or repacking agreed before collection. A full clearance may need more preparation and vehicle capacity than a regular small release.

New to booking warehouse space?

Start with a usable stock list

List the owner, product or set reference, quantities and packing unit. Include outside packed dimensions, weight including packaging and stacking limits. Supplier packing lists and package labels can help. Mark estimates and send photographs where details are still unknown; a product's unpacked dimensions are not its storage footprint.

Set a review date and owner

Identify the person who will review remaining stock, changed values, packaging needs and the next release. If batches or expiry dates matter, provide the information and agree the rule. Holding goods does not automatically include monitoring product life, maintenance dates or commercial demand.

Plan complete sets and the exit

Record which cartons or pieces make up a set and which must leave together. Explain whether the final clearance needs checking, rewrapping or grouped allocations. This avoids planning a vehicle before the remaining stock and preparation work are understood.

A reserve-stock instruction

For example, eight display sets each arrive in three labelled cartons. A later release needs two complete sets, not two cartons. Provide the six carton references for those sets, who may authorise the release and when to review the remaining stock. Any count or balance report is separately agreed. This is an illustrative instruction, not a customer case history.

Practical detail for each requirement

Reserve and replenishment stock

Hold stock which does not need to occupy your working premises every day. Give us product references, quantities and expected replenishment frequency. Separate available stock from allocations or goods awaiting a decision, so an instruction to release stock is unambiguous.

Reusable equipment and fixtures

Keep packed equipment, displays or furniture between programmes. Record sets, loose components and any orientation restrictions. Identify maintenance or inspection dates you need to manage. Storage is not equipment servicing, electrical testing or a guarantee that a stored item remains ready to use.

Seasonal and slower-moving inventory

Agree how older and newer receipts should be identified and released. If batch, expiry or best-before dates matter, supply the rules before arrival. Do not assume first-in-first-out or first-expiry-first-out control has been included without an agreed procedure.

Phased project reserves

Hold suitable stock for later phases while releasing only what is currently required. Set clear ownership and destination references. Review the project schedule and remaining quantities periodically so redundant stock does not stay unnoticed after the project has finished.

Why Synergix?

Stockholding with practical support.

A real warehouse operation, clear stock identification and useful support when plans change.

01

Stock with an identity

Individual warehouse labels or barcodes and assigned WMS locations connect incoming stock to a recorded place, rather than rely on memory or an unlabelled corner.

02

Access around the job

Discuss managed evening and weekend warehouse access or releases. Agree the time and authorised contacts so urgent requirements are planned rather than left to chance.

03

Trusted with demanding programmes

We support national retailers and major event operators, with warehousing, cross-docking and retail logistics in Northampton. Your stockholding can connect to that practical experience without a compulsory transport package.

04

Experience behind the plan

Three generations of family transport experience support practical decisions about goods, handling and timing. We explain the actual arrangements rather than promise every item fits the same service.

05

Support when stock must move

Courier, general haulage, retail distribution and specialist transport are available where suitable. Eligible UK courier collections can be arranged within 60 minutes, subject to the job, location and availability.

06

Clear transport evidence

Booked transport is insured, with tracking and proof of delivery available. Confirm applicable cover and evidence for your movement. These transport benefits do not replace agreed warehouse checks or stock cover.

A useful brief for a useful quote

Tell us what the stock needs.

Send the details below. We will confirm suitable space, the storage period, handling, availability and price before you book.

01

Stock and references

Goods, owner, quantities, product references and receipt unit.

02

Space and conditions

Packed dimensions, loaded weights, stacking limits, value and special requirements.

03

Dates and access

Arrival, expected duration, release pattern and evening or weekend needs.

04

Warehouse work

Counts, inspection, picking, preparation, reporting and collector or transport requirements.

Email your brief to sales@synergixsameday.com. Do not send undeclared goods before acceptance.

For buying teams and repeat bookings

Price the pattern, not just the months

Share normal and peak stock, handling frequency and the likely final clearance. Ask how space, receipt/release work, checks, materials, reviews and extensions are charged. A long stay does not automatically mean a fixed rate or an unlimited capacity reservation.

Keep release authority current

Name the people who can approve releases and decisions on discrepancies or unwanted stock. Tell us about changes in ownership, value or goods. Confirm applicable storage terms and cover for the actual stock; insured transport is a separate part of any movement.

Agree useful information

Explain what you need to reconcile or plan replenishment: the receipt unit, references, balances or a scheduled count. Agree the actual fields, method and frequency with the team. A warehouse label and location do not promise a live customer portal, automatic alerts or an integration.

Discuss a continuing relationship

Send anticipated peaks, project dates and supplier-approval questions to the sales team. Include proposed purchase-order, invoicing or reporting requirements so we can confirm what can be agreed. No credit period, supporting certificate or performance commitment is assumed.

Before you book

Long-term storage questions.

Practical answers about the service and what to agree.

How long can you hold stock?

Tell us the expected period and goods. We will agree suitable space, commercial terms and review points. No fixed maximum or indefinite availability is promised without checking the actual arrangement.

Can I access stock during long-term storage?

Yes, managed access and releases can be arranged with the warehouse team, including evening or weekend requirements. Agree notice, quantities and authorised contacts rather than assuming unrestricted entry.

Will you rotate my stock?

A rotation procedure can be discussed as part of stock management. Supply product, batch or expiry information and the release rule. It is not an automatic service for every long-term holding.

Does a longer stay guarantee a cheaper rate?

Duration is one pricing factor, alongside volume, suitability and handling frequency. We quote the actual requirement. There is no universal discount, fixed rate or saving against another provider promised on this page.

Can unused stock be disposed of?

Do not assume disposal is included. Tell us the goods, ownership and condition. Any removal, recycling or disposal route and charges need separate agreement and the appropriate authorised arrangements.

How are warehouse goods identified?

Incoming stock units receive their own individual label or barcode and an assigned location in our warehouse management system. Agree the unit, receipt checks and required reports. The WMS does not automatically mean item-level counting, product testing or an external system connection.

Can access be arranged in the evening or at weekends?

Yes, discuss managed access or stock releases with our warehouse team. Confirm the stock references, quantities, authorised person and time. This is planned warehouse access, not unrestricted walk-in access to a self-storage unit.

What affects the price?

Goods, occupied space, duration, handling frequency, checking level and access requirements affect the quote. Declare specialist conditions and peak quantities. Transport, materials and extra warehouse work should be clear rather than hidden in an assumed all-inclusive rate.

How are security and stock cover handled?

We use managed warehouse holding and authorised release arrangements. Declare the stock, value and special risks so acceptance, terms and applicable cover can be confirmed. Insured transport does not automatically define warehouse contents or on-site stock cover.

Can you arrange transport as well?

Yes, suitable collection or onward delivery can be discussed separately. You can also arrange an authorised warehouse collection. Give packed dimensions, gross weights, loading and unloading details, access and required times so the actual vehicle and equipment can be checked.

What information should be on my long-term stock list?

Identify the owner, stock or set references, number of pallets/cartons/pieces, outside packed dimensions and gross weights. Add stacking limits, orientation and any relevant batch or expiry requirements. Mark unknowns or estimates and send photographs or supplier packing information so we can identify what still needs confirming.

Does storage include checking that equipment stays ready to use?

No automatic servicing, electrical testing, calibration or maintenance is included in holding. Identify the equipment and any inspection dates or special conditions. Agree any additional work and responsibility separately before relying on the stock for its next use.

How do we avoid leaving redundant stock in storage?

Nominate an owner and agree review dates for remaining quantities and the next planned use. Decide what should stay, be released or require another arrangement. We act on the agreed instruction; a commercial write-off, recycling or disposal decision is not automatically part of warehouse storage.
