TWO-PERSON & WHITE-GLOVE SERVICES
Heavy & bulky
item delivery
Too large for a parcel, awkward to carry or needing more than a driver alone? Synergix moves furniture, appliances, machinery, fragile goods, vehicles and other bulky items across mainland UK. Send us the item and access details so we can match the transport, people and handling arrangements to your job.

What we provide
Heavy & bulky delivery
A long lightweight item and a compact heavy machine create different problems. We look at the whole movement: collecting the goods, loading the vehicle, securing them for travel, unloading and reaching the agreed delivery point. Standard two-person delivery is kerbside. If the job needs indoor carrying, an upper floor, unpacking, assembly or installation, request it before booking. We can train or appoint appropriately skilled people for agreed customer tasks, with larger teams and handling equipment considered where the assessment calls for them.
SINGLE ITEMS
A specific item, moved properly
Arrange transport for an individual large purchase, a replacement appliance, a furniture piece or an awkward business consignment. Tell us its full packed dimensions and weight, rather than choosing a van from the product name alone. Protection and loading space must be allowed for.
BUSINESS MOVEMENTS
Equipment between premises
Move bulky equipment or stock between suppliers, depots, workplaces and customer sites. Confirm whether the goods are on a suitable pallet, on wheels, crated or loose, and describe loading facilities at both addresses. Handling inside either building is agreed separately.
REPEATED WORK
Delivery runs built around your goods
Discuss regular delivery capacity or day-rate runs where large products need consistent handling. The schedule takes account of time at each stop, access and unloading, rather than treating a bulky item like a parcel that can simply be handed over at the door.
FURTHER HANDLING
From kerbside to the agreed position
Request room-of-choice carrying, upstairs access, unpacking or setup when required. A crew needs to know the complete route and task in advance. Clear scope helps avoid an item arriving with the transport arranged but the final movement still unresolved.

These are typical standard-body planning figures. Actual load space, doors, loading equipment and usable payload must be checked for the assigned vehicle.
| Vehicle | Load space | Payload | Checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small van | 1.2 × 1 × 1 m | Up to 400 kg | Compact loads. Check item size and handling at each end. |
| SWB van | 2.4 × 1.2 × 1.2 m | Up to 800 kg | Smaller goods. Check door openings and wheel arches. |
| LWB van | 3.6 × 1.2 × 1.8 m | Up to 1,250 kg | Longer enclosed loads. Check openings and restraint. |
| XLWB van | 4.2 × 1.2 × 1.8 m | Up to 1,100 kg | Extra length for bulky goods. Length does not increase lifting capacity. |
| Luton van | 4 × 2 × 2 m | Up to 1,100 kg | Bulky items. Up to 900 kg with a tail lift; confirm platform capacity. |
| 7.5 tonne lorry | 6 × 2.2–2.4 × 2–2.445 m | Up to 2,400 kg | Body-dependent dimensions. Confirm unloading equipment and access. |
| 18 tonne lorry | 7.5 × 2.4 × 2.5 m | Up to 9,000 kg | Larger loads. Confirm turning space and unloading. |
| 26 tonne lorry | 8 × 2.5 × 2.6 m | Up to 15,000 kg | Larger rigid capacity. Equipment reduces usable payload. |
| 13.6m artic | 13.6 × 2.5 × 2.6 m | Up to 26,000 kg | Bulk loads and projects. Confirm trailer, loading and access. |
The handling plan still matters.
Vehicle capacity does not establish what a person or team can lift. Tail-lift capacity, the whole platform load, ground conditions and the carrying route need checking. Body conversions and equipment can reduce useful space and payload.
Practical product and project detail
What heavy and bulky items can we move?
The range is not limited to furniture. If an item needs careful planning, tell us about it. We assess the goods, suitable vehicle, restraints, access and any specialist requirements before confirming acceptance.
- FURNITURE
- APPLIANCES
- MACHINERY
- FRAGILE & AWKWARD
- VEHICLES & OTHER ITEMS
Sofas, beds, tables and cabinets
Long sofas, solid tables and assembled cabinets need their narrowest usable route checked, including bends and stairs. Tell us about detachable parts, glass, stone and delicate finishes. Dismantling and reassembly must be agreed, with product instructions available where needed.
Domestic and commercial appliances
Provide the exact model, packed size, weight and manufacturer transport guidance. State whether the item is new, used or damaged and whether it must remain upright. Prepare disconnection and drainage with the appropriate person. Transport, positioning and connection are different tasks and are quoted on their agreed scope.
Machines and commercial equipment
Supply the manufacturer's information, weight, centre-of-gravity information where available, lifting points and any transport locks. Explain floor capacity, thresholds and the loading equipment at both ends. A heavy machine is not automatically suitable for two people to lift or for a standard tail lift.
Large delicate goods
A bulky item may be light but difficult to grip or vulnerable to twisting. Describe its construction, finish and protected points, with photographs or drawings if helpful. Agree suitable packaging and support, and tell us the value so applicable transport cover can be checked.
Unusual loads considered individually
We welcome vehicle and other unusual-load enquiries. Provide the vehicle type, dimensions, weight, condition and how it can be loaded and restrained. The required arrangement is assessed specifically. A standard two-person booking is not a promise of recovery, transport for every vehicle or an unrestricted loading method.
PEOPLE & EQUIPMENT
Weight is only part of the handling decision
A useful plan starts with accurate information. The same load can be straightforward on level ground and much more involved on a staircase or a long route through a building.
TEAM
Do you actually need two people?
Tell us what must happen at collection and delivery. Two people may be appropriate, but the item's shape, grip, condition and route can call for another method, additional people or equipment. We do not publish a universal safe two-person weight threshold.
LOADING
Check the method at both ends
Tell us whether a forklift, loading dock, suitable tail lift or another aid is needed or available. Lift capacity, platform dimensions, load position and ground conditions must suit the complete load. A vehicle's payload does not tell you what its tail lift can handle.
PALLETS
Moving a pallet beyond the vehicle
Where pallet-truck handling is required for an individual loaded pallet of 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck. Lower weights can also need powered assistance. Wheels, surface, gradients and distance matter. We provide dedicated pallet transport, not pallet-network services.
MACHINERY
Separate transport from technical work
Agree who disconnects, secures moving parts, prepares fluids and confirms the equipment is ready to move. Reconnection, fixing, testing and commissioning need an expressly agreed scope and suitably skilled people. Moving the machine does not itself certify that it is ready to operate.
Tell us if anything changes
A different item, added stock, blocked entrance or failed lift can change the plan. Contact us as soon as you know. We can reassess the work before the crew attempts a route or task that was not agreed.
THE COMPLETE ROUTE
Measure the journey through the property
The goods must fit through the actual openings and turning spaces, not simply fit inside the delivery vehicle. Photos and measurements help us identify problems while there is time to plan.
OUTSIDE
Parking, ground and approach
Explain parking restrictions, vehicle approach, height or width restrictions and how far the goods travel from vehicle to delivery point. Include slopes, gravel, soft ground, steps and uneven surfaces. Confirm who arranges permission or access to any controlled loading area.
INSIDE
Doors, corridors, stairs and lifts
Measure the narrowest doors and turns. Give the floor, stair layout, lift door and internal dimensions, capacity and availability. Flag fragile surfaces and existing protection requirements. A large lift at the address is useful only if the load fits and the building allows its use.
PREPARATION
Goods ready to move
Agree packaging, loose-part removal, access clearing and any preparation required by the manufacturer. Make sure an authorised person can release and receive the item. If the item is damaged or unstable, send current photographs so the team can plan without relying on its original specification.
ARRIVAL
A clear finishing point
Specify kerbside, an indoor room or another assessed location. If positioning, unpacking, assembly or packaging removal is requested, include it in the quotation. We agree what counts as completion so the recipient understands the service that has been booked.
Why choose Synergix?
The people and capability behind the work.
A practical plan, suitably prepared people and an accountable team to follow the work through.
TASK-SPECIFIC TEAMS
People prepared for your job
We can train teams or appoint appropriately skilled drivers and mates for agreed customer requirements. That gives practical flexibility for both simple bulky deliveries and more involved handling tasks.
CHOICE OF CAPACITY
Vans through to 13.6m artics
The standard van and truck range lets us plan the right space for a single item or a larger consignment. Actual loading method, usable space, restraints and site access determine the vehicle used.
VISIBILITY
Live tracking and POD
Follow the movement and confirm handover with live tracking and proof of delivery. Specify additional photographs, condition notes or checks before booking if they are part of your customer's requirements.
INSURED TRANSPORT
Reassurance matched to the goods
Our transport is insured, with applicable cover checked against the goods, value and service. Tell us about high-value or unusual loads. Any on-site installation work and cover are considered separately.
MAINLAND REACH
One job or ongoing capacity
We cover mainland UK and can discuss dedicated movements, planned deliveries and agreed day-rate runs. Island movements are considered individually around ferry, access and crew requirements.
PRACTICAL SUPPORT
Experience behind the movement
Three generations of family transport experience and 24/7 operations support help keep a job coordinated when receiving arrangements or access change. Your team has a contact for agreeing the next step.
How the job works
From the brief to the handover.
Agree the work before the appointment so the goods, people, time and site arrangements fit together.
- Describe the load
Send the goods details, photographs, weight, size and intended collection and delivery points.
- Plan the movement
We agree suitable vehicle capacity, people, equipment, access, preparation and work included.
- Prepare both sites
Have the goods and route ready, confirm contacts and arrange the agreed loading and receiving facilities.
- Deliver and hand over
The crew completes the booked movement and provides POD, with any additional completion records agreed beforehand.
Price and preparation
What we need to quote.
Price reflects the route, vehicle, people, equipment, handling time and work at both addresses. An awkward shape, fragile finish or difficult approach can affect the method even when the weight is modest. Send the complete brief for a useful quote. Urgent jobs can be assessed, but our conditional 60-minute UK courier collection proposition is separate from the availability of an appropriate crew, truck or lifting arrangement.
- Exact item detailsGive dimensions, weight, quantity and photographs, including packaging, pallets and detachable parts.

Answers before you book
Heavy & bulky delivery questions.
Service scope, preparation and the details that affect the booking.
What counts as a heavy or bulky item?
An item can need extra planning because of weight, size, shape, fragility or access. There is no single size or weight that describes every Synergix job. Send the exact goods and route details for an assessment.
What is the maximum weight two people can lift?
There is no universal safe two-person allowance. The load, grip, route, posture, people and equipment all matter. We assess the task and may require a different method, more people or appropriate lifting assistance.
Will you take a heavy item upstairs?
We can consider upstairs carrying when requested in advance. Provide weight, dimensions, stair photographs, turns, floors and lift details. It is not part of standard kerbside delivery, and access or equipment requirements may change the plan.
Do you move machinery as well as furniture?
Yes, machinery and other equipment enquiries are welcome. We need the actual load and manufacturer handling information, loading facilities and route. Disconnection, reconnection, testing and commissioning are separately agreed tasks.
Can you move a vehicle?
Yes, tell us about the vehicle and we will assess the arrangement needed. Include its size, weight, condition and proposed loading method. We confirm suitability and cover for that job rather than assume a standard two-person van is appropriate.
Do I need to put the item on a pallet?
Not every item needs a pallet. Tell us how it is packed or supported and what facilities exist at each end. We will agree a suitable method. We do not provide pallet-network services.
Can you supply a tail lift or electric pump truck?
Request the loading assistance needed when enquiring. The actual load, platform, capacity, ground and route must be checked. For pallet-truck handling of an individual loaded pallet of 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck; lighter loads may need one too.
Does delivery include unpacking or installation?
Standard two-person delivery is kerbside. Unpacking, indoor carrying, placement, assembly and installation can be requested and must be included in the agreed scope. Product-specific skills and any connections are checked separately.
How should I package a large fragile item?
Use protection suited to its construction and transport method, especially vulnerable edges and moving or loose parts. Send photographs and manufacturer instructions. If packing help or a crate is needed, agree it before collection rather than assume wrapping is included.
Can I track my bulky item delivery?
Yes, live tracking and proof of delivery are available for the transport movement. Tell us if a named receiving person, photographs or extra condition notes must form part of the handover.
Can you collect an urgent heavy item within 60 minutes?
Ask us to check the job. Conditional 60-minute UK courier collections do not guarantee the availability of a suitable bulky-item crew, truck or lifting equipment in that time. We confirm a practical collection plan for the goods and access.
What do you need to price a heavy item delivery?
Send dimensions, weight, quantity, photographs, both postcodes, dates, access and the loading facilities. Include all requested carrying, packing and setup work so the quote covers the actual movement.
