Building supplies courier
Keep your people on the job.
A building supplies courier collects prepared materials, tools and trade orders from merchants, suppliers or another site and delivers them to the team doing the work. Synergix matches the vehicle and unloading arrangement to the packed load, site entrance and receiving deadline.
Merchant to site
Collect the order you have arranged
Send the collection branch, paid/released order reference and ready time. If materials are split across suppliers, include every stop. We can plan the route while your tradespeople keep working.
Materials and access
Match the load to the gate and unloading
Boards, lengths and bagged materials create different size and weight constraints. Provide the actual dimensions and gross weights, site gate and surface, and tell us who or what will unload.
Goods, products and practical jobs
Building supplies we collect and deliver.
We connect merchants, suppliers and other sites with the trade team needing the goods. The right transport depends on the complete prepared load and where the receiving team can safely unload it, from a compact box of fittings to longer or heavier materials.
Fixings & fittings
Fixings, fasteners and replacement fittings
A missing fixing or fitting can prevent the next stage of a job even when the consignment is only a small box. We collect the released merchant or supplier order and take it directly to the site contact or other agreed receiving point.
Use the order reference and actual loading address so the sender can identify what is being collected. The description should cover every item in the order, including adhesives, batteries or other contents needing declaration. Tell us which delivery deadline matters to the team doing the work.
Small boxes can still be essential to the next job. Use a merchant order reference and clear site contact. Identify batteries, adhesives or other regulated contents rather than assume every counter purchase is ordinary freight.
Trade tools
Tools and suitable site equipment
Tools and suitable site equipment may need to move from a hire location, supplier, store or another working site. We organise the dedicated vehicle around the packed equipment and the access available to the releasing and receiving teams.
The equipment’s contents and condition are part of that description. Identify fitted batteries, fuel, cylinders or other restricted contents, and explain any lifting or support instructions. If tools are returning after use, include the separate release time, condition and destination for that leg.
Supply dimensions, weight and how the tools are packed. Declare batteries, fuel, cylinders and any dangerous contents. Confirm that goods can be released and received at the booked times.
Electrical & plumbing
Electrical, plumbing and heating components
Electrical, plumbing and heating components can be needed to complete a particular task or replace an unavailable unit. We collect the prepared order and deliver it to the person responsible for receiving the correct components, whether at a workshop, trade premises or site.
Describe the units rather than rely only on a merchant’s order total. Fragile controls, glass and equipment containing liquid need suitable preparation. Explain any doorway, goods-in or lifting restriction at delivery so the transport connects with a workable handover.
Describe the units and packaging, including fragile controls, glass and residual liquids. Provide a delivery contact who can identify the correct order. Courier delivery does not include fitting, testing or trade installation.
Timber & boards
Lengths, panels and sheet materials
Timber lengths, panels and sheet materials are often governed by shape and support rather than weight alone. We select the road vehicle around the complete bundle, keeping the goods protected and accommodating the orientation in which they can travel.
Measure the longest finished pack and explain whether it must remain flat or needs side access for loading. A thin board can require a longer vehicle even when it is light. Include weather protection and unloading equipment in the requirement, especially for exposed site delivery points.
Measure the longest packed piece and the complete bundle width and weight. Explain weather protection, support and side-loading needs. A long lightweight board can need a different vehicle from a short dense load.
Dense materials
Suitable quantities of bricks, tiles and bagged goods
Bricks, tiles and bagged materials can use a large part of a vehicle’s payload before they occupy much floor space. We organise suitable transport for the declared quantity, with the loaded weight and unloading facilities guiding the vehicle choice.
Use the gross weight of the complete load, including pallets and packaging. Explain whether loading and receiving equipment are available and what surface the unloading will use. A load that looks compact should not be treated as an ordinary light van consignment without those checks.
Use actual loaded weights, including pallets and packaging. Floor area does not establish payload. We check the vehicle, axle distribution and equipment so a dense merchant load is not treated as a light van consignment.
Bulky site goods
Doors, joinery and larger packaged materials
Doors, joinery and larger packaged materials can combine awkward dimensions with finished surfaces or glazing. We plan the transport around the protected item and the actual receiving route, helping the site team arrange the correct unloading point and handling support.
The movement may need an appropriate handling team or mechanical equipment depending on the item and access. State where the agreed handover ends, including any carrying beyond the vehicle. Fitting and installation remain separate tasks unless they are expressly included in the arrangement.
Protect edges, glazing and finished surfaces. State the orientation, lifting instructions and receiving route. Larger or fragile items may need a handling team or mechanical unloading, agreed before the vehicle arrives.
Protected glazing and glass units
Protected glazing and glass units
Prepared glazing and glass units can require upright support, protected edges and a carefully defined handover. We organise the vehicle and handling around the packed unit and the supplier’s instructions, rather than treat the piece as an ordinary board.
Give individual dimensions, weights and permitted orientation, with photographs and support details where useful. Explain loading and the receiving route. Appropriate equipment and any additional handling team must be agreed before collection.
Roofing, guttering and external trim
Roofing, guttering and external trim
Packaged roofing components, guttering and external trim may be governed by length, weather protection or the way bundles can be supported. We collect released goods and organise direct delivery to the agreed site receiving point.
Measure the complete longest pack and describe stacking and side-loading requirements. Identify sharp edges or fragile finishes. Delivery is to the agreed unloading location; lifting materials onto a roof or into position is a separate task to arrange.
Flooring and floor-covering materials
Flooring and floor-covering materials
Prepared flooring, underlay, rolls and associated materials can travel from a supplier or merchant to the receiving trade team. We match transport to the complete package dimensions and weight, including long rolls and dense cartons.
State whether rolls must remain on a particular support or whether cartons may stack. Include adhesives and other restricted contents in the description. Explain access and who will unload, especially where carrying through an occupied building is required.
Kitchen and bathroom units
Kitchen and bathroom units
Protected cabinets, fittings, sanitary units and other prepared components can be collected for a project delivery. We organise the road movement around the complete set, including fragile faces, projecting parts and items that cannot be stacked.
Give packed sizes and individual weights, plus glazing or ceramic contents. State the agreed handover point and any stairs, narrow doors or longer carrying route. Installation, assembly and room placement need specific agreement.
Lighting units and fittings
Lighting units and fittings
Prepared lighting units can range from compact boxes to long or fragile assemblies. We collect the released order and take it to the site contact or other agreed recipient, with the vehicle chosen for the protected load.
List fittings and separate components, declare batteries and protect glass or finished surfaces. Include the receiving reference and access arrangements. Electrical fitting, testing and commissioning remain separate from the courier movement.
Workwear and site protection supplies
Workwear and site protection supplies
Boxed workwear, site supplies and prepared protective equipment can be needed to support the day’s work. We organise collection from a released merchant or supplier order and delivery to the team authorised to receive it.
Identify quantities and packed weights, including any accompanying tools, aerosols or other restricted contents. Give the actual site gate and contact. Product selection and suitability remain with the purchasing business and supplier.
Architectural metalwork and fixtures
Architectural metalwork and fixtures
Prepared brackets, rails, fittings and other architectural metalwork may combine weight with long dimensions or vulnerable finishes. We organise the vehicle around the protected pieces and the facilities for lifting and receiving them.
Give the heaviest piece, full packed dimensions and lifting or support instructions. Protect sharp edges and finished surfaces. A piece fitting the load space does not establish that one person can safely handle it at the site.
Stone and worktop pieces
Stone and worktop pieces
Prepared stone, worktop sections and similarly dense finished materials need a load-specific transport and handling plan. We organise the vehicle and unloading arrangement around the actual piece, its support and the agreed receiving point.
Provide individual weights, dimensions, orientation and handling instructions from the supplier. Explain mechanical lifting and any carrying route. Packing, specialist support, placement and installation must be defined rather than assumed within a standard courier booking.

Specialist and refrigerated specifications require their own confirmation. Availability and the suitable configuration are agreed before booking.
From the first call to the handover
How your job works.
Share the essentials, agree the plan, then keep the people at each end ready.
- Tell us the requirement
Share the goods, packaged dimensions and weight, route, ready time, deadline and contacts. Tell us about value, restricted contents and handling before we quote.
- We plan and confirm
We check vehicle suitability, access, equipment, timing and price. The booking confirmation records the agreed service. Quote enquiries alone do not dispatch a vehicle.
- Move, hand over and confirm
The movement follows the agreed plan, supported by tracking and operational updates. Delivery is recorded with POD. Tell us promptly about changes, returns or a receiving problem.
When a missing fitting or late material stops the next task, fetching it can take another person away from site. Arrange the purchase and release with the merchant, then give us the reference and the site contact. We move the prepared goods directly to the people who need them.
Courier support covers urgent tools, fixings, fittings and suitable building materials. Longer, dense or bulky supplies may need a larger van, a truck or specialist unloading. We check the actual packed load and site conditions so the vehicle can both carry it and complete the handover.
Make the job workable
The last few metres need a plan.
An urgent delivery still needs a safe gate, suitable ground and a workable method of getting the materials off the vehicle.
Use the trade order and packed measurements
Tell us the merchant, order reference and site deadline. Ask the merchant for the complete packed dimensions and weight, especially for boards, timber and dense materials. Send the site entrance and unloading contact. Photographs of access and the goods help when a vehicle or unloading method has not yet been chosen.
Site entry
Use the delivery gate and named contact
Provide the site name, actual vehicle entrance, delivery slot, booking reference and any induction or vehicle requirements. Do not assume the public postcode or a head-office address identifies the unloading point.
Unloading
Choose the equipment for the load
Tell us whether a forklift is available. A HIAB lifts by crane within an assessed load and reach; a MOFFETT unloads with a carried forklift over a suitable route and ground. Tail lifts and pallet trucks also need individual capacity and surface checks.
Agree unloading at the site.
A loader crane (HIAB) can lift suitable goods from the vehicle; a truck-mounted forklift (MOFFETT) serves a different unloading role. Tell us the load, ground, access and intended placement. Equipment, capacity and reach must be confirmed for the actual task. A picture or standard truck payload does not establish lift capability.
How the service helps
The requirement
A team is waiting for a missing fitting
Arrange the merchant’s release, then send the order reference and site gate. We check the appropriate courier response so a tradesperson does not have to leave the job to collect it.
The requirement
A supplier’s load needs specialist unloading
Send the packed load, individual weights and site photographs. We assess a suitable truck and unloading method. A crane’s reach or forklift route is confirmed for the actual site.
Where the task needs extra handling
Do you need a two-person team?
Long boards, large doors and fragile joinery may need two-person handling, while dense palletised goods may need mechanical equipment. Send weights, dimensions, instructions and the full carrying route. We assess the actual task rather than assume an extra person makes it safe.
Show us the complete carrying route.
Include individual weights, packed and unpacked dimensions, quantity, photographs, lifting points, manufacturer instructions, stairs, lift and doorway sizes, parking distance and the final receiving point.
Tell us what mechanical handling or agreed site assistance is available. Two people are not proof that a lift is safe. We assess the task, people and equipment together.
A second person can join where needed, including at delivery, if that is the agreed arrangement. Confirm which stages require the team.
Send the goods and access details.
Photographs, individual weights, packed dimensions, steps, doorways and lifting instructions help us assess the complete job.
This helper sends no information. Include your requirement in the quote or call so the team can confirm the service.

Insured transport
Cover checked for the consignment
Synergix provides fully insured transport. Declare the goods and value before booking so applicable cover and liability terms can be confirmed. Enhanced arrangements require express written acceptance; full-value cargo insurance is separate.

A clear enquiry helps us price the actual work and confirm the right service.
Coverage and scheduling
Where and when it is needed
We arrange urgent and planned merchant-to-site deliveries throughout the UK, including evenings and weekends where release and receiving access are available. The 60-minute average target relates to suitable courier collections; specialist trucks, cranes and forklifts have separate availability.
The price
What changes the quote
The quote reflects the route, vehicle, load size and weight, stops, site access, waiting and unloading. Arrange payment for the materials with the supplier. Any extra carrying, team, equipment or return collection needs to be included in the agreed scope.
- The goodsDescription, quantity, packaged dimensions, individual and total gross weight, including pallets and protective packaging.
- Locations and contactsFull collection and delivery addresses, loading entrances, references and named people with telephone numbers.
- Readiness and deadlineDate, goods-ready time, receiving window and latest useful arrival. State which timings are fixed.
- Access and handlingLoading and unloading method, equipment, parking, steps, doorways, carrying distance and who is available to help.
- Include with this enquiryMerchant branch, release reference, ready time and latest useful arrival on site.
- Service-specific detailLongest piece, loaded weights, gate access, ground and unloading method.
- Restricted goods and valueDeclare batteries, hazardous contents, confidential originals, fragile or exceptionally valuable items, and any temperature requirement. Restricted goods need express written acceptance.
- Changes and completionExtra stops, waiting, return collections and any special handover or reporting requirement to include in the quote.
Confirm the booked service.
Goods must be lawful to carry. Declare restricted goods and special requirements before booking, and obtain the required written acceptance. We explain any change, waiting, return or cancellation charges under the agreed quotation and applicable terms. An enquiry reference is not a booking confirmation.
Booking for a business or approving a supplier
Confirm the merchant has released the order, which entrance and delivery slot the site uses, and who provides unloading equipment. Include site-specific PPE or induction requirements for assessment. For regular supply runs, send the expected volumes and ordering process; terms and extra waiting are agreed in the quote.
Read the applicable terms and conditions alongside your agreed quote. Tell us any supplier-approval or ordering requirements before committing the job.
Questions before booking
Useful answers for your job.
Straight answers about the service, the timing and what to arrange.
Can you collect from a builders’ merchant?
Yes, when the merchant has agreed to release the order. Give us the branch, order reference, ready time and loading instructions. Arrange payment for the goods separately.
Can you deliver the materials today?
Yes, where the route, load, vehicle and receiving arrangements make it achievable. Our average UK courier collection target is 60 minutes. We confirm the actual plan before booking.
Can you collect from several merchants?
Yes. Send every collection, reference and ready time. The vehicle must suit the largest combined load carried at any point, and the route must fit the site deadline.
Can you carry long timber or boards?
Suitable loads can be assessed. Give packed length, width, height, weight, protection and loading method. Long items may need XLWB, side loading or another body rather than an ordinary van.
Can you move bricks or tiles in a van?
Suitable quantities may be possible, but use actual gross weights. Dense materials can exceed payload before the floor is full. We check the vehicle and loading arrangement for the specific consignment.
What if the site has no forklift?
Tell us before quoting. A tail lift, HIAB, MOFFETT or another arrangement may suit, depending on the load, reach, ground and access. Availability and capacity are confirmed separately.
Does a HIAB do the same job as a MOFFETT?
No. A HIAB is a loader crane; a MOFFETT is a carried forklift. Their reach, lifting, movement and ground requirements differ. We assess which method suits the job.
Do I need a two-person team?
It depends on the goods and route. Large doors, boards or joinery can need a team; dense pallets may need machinery. Send details so we can assess the task and required equipment.
Can you carry paint, adhesives or batteries?
Declare the exact contents, quantities, classification and packaging before booking. Synergix provides road dangerous-goods requirements (ADR) transport, but acceptance and the required arrangement must be confirmed for those goods.
Will the driver take materials inside the building?
State the required receiving point and carrying route before quoting. A site delivery does not automatically include room placement, stairs, fitting or installation.
Can you meet a site delivery slot?
We can plan around a requested slot. Give the confirmation, gate, access requirements and unloading time. We check the route and vehicle against the actual appointment.
Will I know when the materials arrive?
Live tracking and electronic POD support the delivery. Give the person receiving the goods and any site reference so the handover can be recorded appropriately.
