Bicycle and e-bike transport

Match the vehicle to the bicycle as it will travel.

Bicycle transport carries your cycle between a retailer, repairer, seller, owner or agreed recipient. Synergix plans the enclosed road vehicle, protection and handling around the complete bicycle or packed case. Electric cycles also need their battery details and condition declared before booking.

Fit and protection

Use the real handlebars, pedals and packing

Measure the widest and longest points, not only the frame size. State whether the cycle is boxed, cased, folded or assembled, and what its manufacturer or packer requires for support. Confirm any preparation before collection.

E-bike contents

Declare the battery before dispatch

Give battery chemistry, watt-hour rating, quantity, fitted or separate status, condition and available classification or safety information. Requirements depend on the actual consignment and transport mode. road dangerous-goods requirements (ADR) capability does not mean automatic acceptance.

Goods, products and practical jobs

Bicycles and cycling equipment we transport.

We carry the bicycle in a suitable enclosed road vehicle, with the preparation and handling organised around its actual shape and condition. This is transport of your cycle, from a standard road bike to a declared electric or adapted model.

Road & gravel bikes

Prepared road and gravel bicycles

Road and gravel bicycles can move between retailers, workshops, sellers, owners and agreed recipients. We plan the vehicle and handover around the complete prepared cycle, whether it is supplied with its wheels fitted or with components separately protected.

The frame size alone does not describe the space required. Include the handlebars, pedals and any wheel bags or accessories travelling with it. Explain the permitted support points and orientation so the transport arrangement follows how the sender has prepared the bicycle.

Protect frames, forks, controls and projecting components. State whether wheels are fitted or separately packed and confirm the permitted support and orientation. Include the complete packed gross weight.

Mountain bikes

Larger bicycles with wide bars or suspension

Mountain bikes can have wide handlebars, suspension and projecting components that change how they fit and are supported. We organise transport around the actual prepared bicycle and its accessories, with collection and receiving contacts agreed in advance.

Measure the cycle as it will be handed over, not as an approximate catalogue frame size. Explain any protection or support instructions supplied by the owner, retailer or manufacturer. If packing or dismantling is needed, establish who will complete it before collection.

Measure the bicycle as presented for transport, including handlebars and any accessories. Do not assume a frame size describes its load space. Explain support points and preparation required by the manufacturer or sender.

E-bikes

Suitable electric bicycles with declared batteries

Suitable electric bicycles are carried with their battery type and condition declared before booking. We plan the road movement around the complete cycle, its weight, protection and the battery arrangement, rather than assume an e-bike is identical to an unpowered bicycle.

Tell us whether the battery remains fitted or is travelling separately, with the available label or manufacturer information. Removing it does not remove the need for the appropriate carriage assessment. Any damage, modification or abnormal condition needs to be identified before acceptance.

Provide the battery details before quoting, whether fitted or removed. Removal does not make a lithium battery ordinary freight. The actual condition, protection, classification and carriage arrangement must be assessed.

Cargo & adapted cycles

Long, wide or heavier specialist bicycles

Cargo bicycles and adapted cycles can be longer, wider, heavier or less stable to move than a conventional bicycle. We organise the vehicle and handling around the whole cycle, including the equipment or attachments that form part of the consignment.

Photographs help explain shapes and supports that a single length measurement cannot show. Give the full dimensions and weight, and describe access through doors, ramps or steps. A workable plan needs to cover getting the cycle into and out of the vehicle as well as the space inside it.

Send photographs and full dimensions, weight, stability and lifting information. Cargo cycles and adapted cycles can need different access and equipment from a standard bicycle, especially through doors, ramps or steps.

Boxed or cased cycles

Bicycles prepared by the sender or retailer

A retailer or owner may present a bicycle in a box or purpose-made transport case. We move that prepared load using its outer dimensions and gross weight, with the sender’s orientation and stacking instructions included in the transport brief.

Confirm that loose parts, tools and accessories are secured within the packaging. A case changes the size and weight even when the bicycle inside is familiar. Packing, dismantling and reassembly should be assigned explicitly; they do not automatically form part of a transport-only booking.

Give outer measurements, gross weight and any upright or stacking instructions. Confirm that loose parts and accessories are secured inside. Packing, dismantling and reassembly are not automatically part of a transport booking.

Collections & returns

Retailer, workshop, event and private handovers

Cycle transport can connect private handovers, retailer deliveries, workshop visits and event movements. We organise the collection and delivery around the actual holder and recipient, including any declared wheel bags, equipment or other items travelling with the bicycle.

Agree the release time with the person who has the cycle and identify who can receive it. A return after an event or workshop visit may involve a different date, location or load. Include those details so each leg has the right vehicle and handover arrangement.

Arrange release with the actual holder and identify the receiver. Include any extra wheel bags, tools or equipment. State whether there is a return leg or a different destination after an event or workshop visit.

Track and time-trial bicycles

Track and time-trial bicycles

Prepared track and time-trial bicycles can have projecting bars, fragile wheels or a particular support arrangement. We plan the enclosed-road transport around the complete cycle and its protective preparation.

Give dimensions as presented, including fitted wheels and extensions. Identify any separate bags and accessories, and explain permitted support points. Packing, dismantling and adjustment remain with the sender unless another scope is expressly agreed.

Folding bicycles

Folding bicycles

A folding bicycle can travel in the condition in which the sender prepares it, whether folded, cased or left assembled. We organise vehicle space from that actual presentation rather than assume folding always produces a compact load.

Provide outer dimensions and weight, plus instructions for protecting and securing the folded parts. Electric folding models still need battery details and condition declared. The courier does not automatically fold, dismantle or reassemble the cycle.

Children’s and club bicycles

Children’s and club bicycles

Several prepared smaller bicycles can form one customer consignment for a club, retailer or agreed group arrangement. We organise the vehicle around the combined load and the authorised collection and receiving contacts.

List cycle quantities, sizes and any separate equipment, with support and stacking restrictions. Smaller frames do not establish the total space needed. Each stop, recipient and later return must be included in the route brief.

Touring cycles and accompanying luggage

Touring cycles and accompanying luggage

A touring bicycle may travel with panniers, racks, protective cases or other declared luggage. We organise transport around the complete prepared consignment and its handover to the agreed recipient.

Measure the cycle as presented and declare the contents of accompanying bags, including batteries or restricted goods. Explain whether luggage is fitted or separately packed. Loading space and gross weight must cover everything travelling together.

Frames, wheels and cycle components

Frames, wheels and cycle components

Protected frames, wheel sets and prepared components can move between sellers, owners, retailers and workshops. We plan the consignment around the outer cases or packaging and the support needed for vulnerable pieces.

Give item counts, packed measurements and gross weights, with value and battery contents declared where relevant. Secure loose parts and identify matched sets. Building, servicing and checking compatibility are separate from delivery.

Several cycles on one dedicated route

Several cycles on one dedicated route

A business, club or authorised organiser may need several prepared cycles moved together or to agreed receiving points. We organise the customer-only vehicle and route around the combined consignment.

Provide the complete cycle list, dimensions, handling instructions and contacts for each stop. Include wheel bags and accessories, plus any electric-cycle batteries. Returns after an event or workshop visit must have their own agreed release time and destination.

The complete Synergix vehicle range

All vehicles. One consistent guide.

Explore our full vehicle range, then match the load, access and equipment to this particular job. This catalogue includes wider Synergix capabilities; every configuration is not suitable for every service.

Space, weight and equipment are separate checks.

Include packaging and pallets in the packed dimensions and gross weight. Door openings, useful payload and unloading arrangements depend on the assigned body and equipment. Specialist and refrigerated specifications require their own confirmation. Availability and the suitable configuration are agreed before booking.

From the first call to the handover

How your job works.

Share the essentials, agree the plan, then keep the people at each end ready.

  1. Tell us the requirement

Share the goods, packaged dimensions and weight, route, ready time, deadline and contacts. Tell us about value, restricted contents and handling before we quote.

  2. We plan and confirm

We check vehicle suitability, access, equipment, timing and price. The booking confirmation records the agreed service. Quote enquiries alone do not dispatch a vehicle.

  3. Move, hand over and confirm

The movement follows the agreed plan, supported by tracking and operational updates. Delivery is recorded with POD. Tell us promptly about changes, returns or a receiving problem.

A boxed road bike, an assembled e-bike and a cargo cycle create different transport requirements. Send the actual packed or assembled measurements, weight, orientation and protection. Explain what can be removed or folded by the sender and how the bicycle will be supported without loading delicate components.

The booked vehicle is dedicated to your consignment. Bicycles remain aboard until their delivery point, without co-loading other customers’ goods. We agree the collection, safe loading and handover in advance, including any battery requirements. Dedicated space does not remove the need for suitable packaging, support and load restraint.

Make the job workable

Plan the loading and battery assessment together.

A suitable road movement needs physical protection, safe handling and accurate information about any battery.

Show the complete bike as it will travel

Send the cycle type, quantity, overall dimensions and weight, including any case or packaging. Say whether it is assembled, boxed or adapted, and describe protection, support and lifting needs. For an e-bike, give the make/model and accessible battery-label information. Ask the retailer or manufacturer for missing details before acceptance is confirmed.

Battery condition

Flag damage, recalls and abnormal symptoms

Tell us about crashes, water exposure, modifications, recalls, overheating, swelling or damage. Do not conceal a suspect battery inside a bike box. We assess the proposed movement and may need further information or a different arrangement before acceptance.

Loading and delivery

Describe the entire carrying route

Give collection and receiving entrances, steps, lifts, doorways, parking distance and available assistance. Agree support, restraint and any equipment. A vehicle’s interior dimensions alone do not show that a cycle can pass through the loading aperture.

Road transport and air transport have different requirements

This service is assessed for the agreed road journey. Airline rules can be much more restrictive for e-bike batteries. A road booking is not approval for passenger baggage, an on-board courier flight or later air shipment.

How the service helps

The requirement

A retailer has a prepared bicycle ready for its owner

Confirm the retailer’s release, packing, outer dimensions and receiving contact. We check the suitable dedicated vehicle, loading and direct handover.

The requirement

A cargo e-bike needs a workshop journey

Send full measurements, gross weight, access photographs and battery information. We assess the vehicle, support and handling team or equipment, including any return movement.

Where the task needs extra handling

Do you need a two-person team?

A heavy e-bike, long cargo cycle or adapted bicycle may need two-person handling or suitable equipment. Send the actual weight, lifting instructions and complete access route. Ordinary manageable bicycles do not automatically need a two-person service, and adding a second person does not make an unsuitable lift safe.

Show us the complete carrying route.

Include individual weights, packed and unpacked dimensions, quantity, photographs, lifting points, manufacturer instructions, stairs, lift and doorway sizes, parking distance and the final receiving point.

Tell us what mechanical handling or agreed site assistance is available. Two people are not proof that a lift is safe. We assess the task, people and equipment together.

A second person can join where needed, including at delivery, if that is the agreed arrangement. Confirm which stages require the team.

Which best describes your requirement?

Send the goods and access details.

Photographs, individual weights, packed dimensions, steps, doorways and lifting instructions help us assess the complete job.

This helper sends no information. Include your requirement in the quote or call so the team can confirm the service.

Why choose Synergix?

The right response, backed by the team.

Speed, reach and follow-through, with the vehicle and service organised around the job you need done.

Respond quickly

A fast response when it matters

Our average UK courier collection target is 60 minutes, including evenings, overnight and weekends. We aim to beat it. Actual response is confirmed for the location, goods and suitable vehicle.

Exclusive transport

Your vehicle. Your goods.

The whole usable load space of the booked vehicle is reserved for you. Only your goods travel on it and remain aboard until their delivery point, including your agreed multi-drop route.

Stay informed

Tracking and proof of delivery

Live tracking, electronic POD and the customer portal help your team follow the job and obtain delivery confirmation. Our operations team monitors the movement and can explain the next step when the plan changes.

Day and night

24/7/365 operational support

Speak to a working transport team in the evening, overnight, at weekends and on bank holidays. Collection and receiving access are planned around the job, so support continues beyond office hours.

Insured transport

Cover checked for the consignment

Synergix provides fully insured transport. Declare the goods and value before booking so applicable cover and liability terms can be confirmed. Enhanced arrangements require express written acceptance; full-value cargo insurance is separate.

National and European reach

Plan the journey from end to end

UK-wide capability and European transport let us work from the collection point to the actual receiving requirement. Vehicle choice, route, access and any border arrangements are joined up in one plan.

Work through the problem

Extra effort when the job is difficult

If the first option does not work, we put in the planning and legwork to look for a workable alternative. You get practical decisions, clear communication and someone responsible for following the agreed job through.

Experience and trust

Personal service with substantial capability

Three generations of family transport experience underpin Synergix. Trusted by some of the largest companies in the sectors we serve, we bring that operational care to one-off bookings and regular work alike.

Collection targets are not a guaranteed maximum or a promise that every specialist vehicle is available within an hour. Goods acceptance, timing and applicable terms are confirmed for the booked service.

Coverage, cost and a useful brief

Get the details into the quote.

A clear enquiry helps us price the actual work and confirm the right service.

Coverage and scheduling

Where and when it is needed

UK-wide urgent and planned road transport can be assessed for the bicycle, suitable vehicle and collection/receiving availability. The average 60-minute UK courier collection target applies only where the goods and service are accepted and suitable. European road journeys require separate route and border checks.

The price

What changes the quote

Size, gross weight, route, urgency, protection, battery requirements, access, handling and extra stops determine the quote. Packing, dismantling, reassembly, installation and mechanical work are not included automatically. Explain any return journey and special handover at the outset.

  • The goodsDescription, quantity, packaged dimensions, individual and total gross weight, including pallets and protective packaging.
  • Locations and contactsFull collection and delivery addresses, loading entrances, references and named people with telephone numbers.
  • Readiness and deadlineDate, goods-ready time, receiving window and latest useful arrival. State which timings are fixed.
  • Access and handlingLoading and unloading method, equipment, parking, steps, doorways, carrying distance and who is available to help.
  • Include with this enquiryCycle type, actual assembled or packed dimensions and gross weight, support and protection instructions.
  • Service-specific detailBattery type, watt-hour rating, quantity, fitted/separate status, condition and available classification information.
  • Restricted goods and valueDeclare batteries, hazardous contents, confidential originals, fragile or exceptionally valuable items, and any temperature requirement. Restricted goods need express written acceptance.
  • Changes and completionExtra stops, waiting, return collections and any special handover or reporting requirement to include in the quote.

Confirm the booked service.

Goods must be lawful to carry. Declare restricted goods and special requirements before booking, and obtain the required written acceptance. We explain any change, waiting, return or cancellation charges under the agreed quotation and applicable terms. An enquiry reference is not a booking confirmation.

Booking for a business or approving a supplier

For cycle retailers, repairers and private sellers, agree the release reference, bike identification, condition, protection and recipient. State who prepares the cycle and whether any carrying task is required. Mechanical assembly, adjustment and commissioning are not automatically included in transport. Discuss repeat collections or supplier approval with the team.

Read the applicable terms and conditions alongside your agreed quote. Tell us any supplier-approval or ordering requirements before committing the job.

Questions before booking

Useful answers for your job.

Straight answers about the service, the timing and what to arrange.

Can you transport an assembled bicycle?

We can assess a suitable prepared cycle. Send full measurements, weight, protection, support and loading information. Assembled transport does not remove the need for secure restraint and component protection.

Can you carry e-bikes?

Suitable e-bikes can be assessed after the battery and complete load details are declared. Acceptance and any required dangerous-goods arrangement must be confirmed before booking.

What battery information do you need?

Provide battery chemistry, watt-hour rating, quantity, condition, whether fitted or separate, and the proposed packaging. Use the battery or product label, manufacturer’s specification or the supplier’s transport information. Send the make/model, a clear photograph of an accessible label, quantity, whether fitted or spare, and any known damage, recall or modification. Do not open, dismantle or handle a suspect battery to obtain details. If information is missing, tell us; acceptance remains subject to the correct assessment.

Does removing the battery avoid dangerous-goods requirements?

No. A removed lithium battery still needs the correct assessment and protection. Requirements depend on the battery and consignment rather than simply whether it is fitted to the cycle.

Can you collect a damaged e-bike or battery?

Declare the exact damage and battery condition before quoting. Damaged or suspect batteries can require a different arrangement or may not be accepted. Do not book them as ordinary bicycle freight.

Do bicycles need to be boxed?

The preparation is agreed for the actual cycle and service. Tell us how it is protected and supported. Do not assume blankets alone or dedicated space provides suitable packaging for every bicycle.

Will other customers’ goods travel with my bike?

No. The booked vehicle is dedicated to your consignment. Your goods remain aboard until their delivery point. Protection, support and restraint are still required.

Can you carry cargo or adapted cycles?

Suitable cycles can be assessed using complete dimensions, weight, stability, lifting instructions and access photographs. A larger vehicle, team or equipment may be required.

Do I need a two-person team?

Only where the actual load and access require it. Heavy or awkward cycles, steps and constrained routes need assessment. Send the weight, dimensions and handling route so the suitable arrangement can be agreed.

Can you collect from a retailer or workshop?

Yes, with an agreed release, contact and ready time. Provide the order or job reference, packing and goods details, and the person receiving at the destination.

Will you dismantle or reassemble the bicycle?

Those tasks are not included automatically. The sender should agree preparation before collection. Mechanical work, setup and safety checks need separate arrangements.

Can the same e-bike battery travel on a passenger flight?

Do not assume so. Airline and air-dangerous-goods requirements differ from road transport. Any proposed air movement needs a separate assessment and the operator’s acceptance.
