01 / Same-day & dedicated courier
Salford courier.
A direct delivery.
If a missing component is holding up production, an event is waiting for its equipment or a customer needs stock today, call with the actual deadline. We arrange dedicated collection and delivery between the agreed points, without a parcel-network sorting hub.
Urgent business consignments
Documents, engineering parts, samples, tools, print, boxed stock and IT equipment can all need a dedicated courier. The smallest suitable vehicle depends on the packaged goods, not the label “parcel”. Send the quantity, dimensions and weights.
A server, delicate prototype or finished component needs packaging that protects it during loading and travel. Tell us if it must stay upright, cannot be stacked or needs a named recipient.
Pallets and bulky items
Courier work can include a suitable pallet or bulky consignment. We check the vehicle aperture, usable space, payload and unloading method. A pallet does not automatically fit a van just because it fits on the floor.
For heavier loads, several pallets or specialised unloading, see the haulage guidance. You can enquire without choosing the lorry first.
How quickly can we collect?
A Salford van collection may be possible in around 45 minutes, subject to the address, goods and a suitable available vehicle. Call for an estimate for your actual job. A rigid, artic, refrigerated body or specialist handling arrangement needs its own availability check.
Collection speed is only part of the plan. Tell us when the goods will be released, how long loading will take and the receiver's latest acceptance time. An evening collection for a production call time needs a different assessment from a scheduled warehouse transfer.
Salford buildings, industrial sites and onward UK delivery
Give the correct goods entrance for a New Bailey office, a Salford Quays studio or an industrial unit in Agecroft. For a university delivery, identify the campus building and receiving team. A postcode alone can lead to a public entrance rather than the agreed handover point.
Collections across central Salford, Eccles, Swinton, Walkden, Irlam and surrounding areas can be assessed for local or nationwide delivery. Any European movement also needs the route, goods documentation and customs responsibilities agreed.
Updates, proof of delivery and repeat work
Our team remains your contact for the movement. Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available; agree any named-recipient, signature, photograph or reference requirements when booking.
We also assess scheduled supplier collections, branch transfers, multi-stop work and repeat courier routes. Phones are answered 24/7/365. The vehicle, crew and access at each end are confirmed for the booking.
02 / General & dedicated haulage
Salford haulage.
Planned around the load.
For dedicated pallet transport, heavier engineering freight or a regular trailer movement, Synergix arranges the vehicle and driver around your load, handling and receiving requirements. Options include 7.5t, 18t and 26t rigids, full artics and suitable specialist configurations.
Dedicated pallet transport
Tell us the actual loaded footprint, height, weight and whether the freight can be stacked. A nominal pallet size does not include a crate, machine or packaging that projects beyond it.
We arrange a dedicated vehicle for your palletised goods, with collection, delivery and loading agreed for your job. Our team coordinates the movement and remains your point of contact. Tell us about fragile freight, specific handling or a timed delivery when booking.
Full loads, part loads and repeat work
A full vehicle can support larger consignments, stock transfers, production schedules and loads needing dedicated capacity. Agree the body, floor space, payload and loading order.
Part-load haulage can also be discussed where a suitable arrangement is available. Agree its collection window, delivery plan and handling before booking. For regular work, send your collection frequency, usual volumes, busy periods, site opening hours and return-load requirements.
Choose the body as well as the lorry size
Box and curtainsider
A box body uses its specified door opening and loading arrangement. A curtainsider can allow suitable forklift loading from the side. Check clear aperture, side access and restraint; curtains alone are not a universal load-securing system.
Flatbed, crane and mounted forklift
Long material, machinery or a delivery without a forklift may need a different body or handling method. A HIAB-type crane and MOFFETT-type forklift do different jobs. Supply load weights, lifting points or fork access, required reach and site photographs.
Temperature-controlled loads
Specify the product, required temperature, collection condition, packaging and monitoring or handover records. A refrigeration unit changes the vehicle specification; confirm its actual payload and space.
Articulated and specialist trailers
Curtainsider, box, refrigerated, flatbed and specialist trailer requirements are assessed individually. A long or heavy item needs its full dimensions, weight distribution and loading plan checked. The illustrated range does not establish suitability for every load.
Getting it off matters just as much
Confirm a forklift, loading dock, tail lift or other agreed equipment at both ends. For a tail-lift delivery, we need the individual item weight, footprint, all weight on the platform, permitted handling method, load centre and the surface beyond the lift.
When pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck. This is Synergix's booking requirement. Lower weights can also need powered handling. A tail lift and pallet truck do not automatically solve gravel, slopes, steps or an unsuitable pallet.
Timed deliveries and urgent haulage
A warehouse slot at Port Salford, a factory shutdown in Irlam or a construction delivery needs more than an arrival postcode. Send the booking reference, goods entrance, vehicle limits, loading method and a contact who can accept the load.
Urgent rigid or artic capacity can be assessed by our team. It does not carry the van collection estimate. Vehicle positioning, loading time, traffic, site appointments and applicable driver-hours limits determine the plan. UK, Ireland and European freight may also need ferry and goods-document arrangements.
Local work. Different requirements.
Transport shaped
by Salford.
Production equipment at the Quays, industrial freight in Irlam and a stock delivery to Eccles call for different arrangements. These local examples show which details help us plan the vehicle, handling and handover.
MediaCity & Salford Quays
Broadcast, creative and event equipment
MediaCity and the Quays bring together media, technology and event activity. Cameras, lighting, sound equipment, technical cases and set materials can be urgent, bulky or easily damaged.
For a production delivery, send the building or studio, equipment list, packaged sizes, ready time and named receiver. Agree who unloads and whether empty cases or equipment need collecting afterwards. A public visitor entrance may be different from the service entrance.
Northbank, Agecroft & Wardley
Engineering, machinery and industrial supplies
Salford's industrial economy includes Northbank Industrial Estate and Agecroft Enterprise Park. Wardley's engineering activity includes can-handling and conveying machinery, illustrating why a replacement part and a complete assembly need different transport plans.
Give the supplier's release time for an urgent component. For machinery, send packaged dimensions, weight, fork access or lifting points and any requirement to stay upright. Long assemblies may need side loading or a flatbed; we check protection and restraint before agreeing the body.
Port Salford & Western Gateway
Distribution, wholesale and food supply
Port Salford is part of the Western Gateway logistics area, with established warehouse and food-distribution activity. Palletised stock, packaging and supplier collections depend on release times and receiving slots.
Send the warehouse operator, unit, gate, booking reference and pallet breakdown. Confirm whether loading uses a dock or forklift. For food, specify whether the goods are ambient, chilled or frozen, along with the required temperature and handover condition. A distribution address does not establish that the load is ready.
New Bailey, the Crescent & town centres
Commercial stock and construction deliveries
New Bailey's offices, development around the Crescent and Salford's town centres create different receiving needs. IT hardware, print, display materials, fittings and construction supplies can require a booked handover rather than delivery to reception.
Give the goods entrance, delivery floor or final placement, vehicle limits and receiving contact. Tell us about lifts, steps, protected finishes and a need for two-person handling. On a building site, confirm the gate, unloading method and current site instructions. Installation is a separate task to agree.
University & supplier movements
Prototypes, testing and technical equipment
The University of Salford's Maker Space supports prototyping, tooling, fabrication and electronics. This type of work can involve fragile models, precision equipment, samples and protective transit cases moving between a workshop, supplier and receiving team.
Explain how the goods are packaged, what must remain upright and who will accept them. Give the exact campus building and handover point. Identify any chemicals, batteries, regulated samples or temperature requirement before the movement is accepted.
Salford engineering supply chain
Aerospace and defence enquiries
Salford-based Morson Praxis publishes aerospace and defence engineering services, including tooling and manufacturing-engineering support. That establishes relevant engineering activity, rather than a claim that all local industrial firms manufacture defence goods.
For ordinary components, tooling or equipment, send the precise goods description, packaging, individual weights, deadline and authorised receiving contact. Explain any controlled-goods or security conditions before acceptance. We assess the movement and required arrangements; no customer relationship or Synergix clearance is implied.
Local sector context: Salford's commercial and growth areas, University of Salford Maker Space and Morson Praxis aerospace and defence engineering. Named organisations provide local context, not claims of Synergix customers.

Routes, loading
& site access.
A Salford postcode can cover an office, a studio building, an industrial unit or a warehouse gate. The final approach and receiving arrangements matter as much as the motorway connection.
M602, M60 and the west of Salford
The M602 connects central Salford with the M60 and wider motorway network. The A57 corridor serves the west of the city, including the Port Salford and Irlam area; the A580 is relevant to northern approaches.
Send the precise gate and a suitable approach for the booked vehicle. Height, weight, width and turning limits must be checked for the complete route. A passenger-car map or a nearby motorway junction does not establish HGV access.
Chapel Street and central Salford
Street layouts, loading bays and restricted turns can affect deliveries around Chapel Street, New Bailey and Greengate. The council records permanent changes at the Chapel Street junctions with St Stephen Street and southbound Ford Street from September 2026.
Obtain the recipient's current goods-entry instructions and check the council's Trinity Way and Chapel Street updates. Signed loading conditions and any bay suspension still apply. Published Chapel Street loading arrangements illustrate why a business address is not permission to unload anywhere outside it.
MediaCity, Quays and venue handovers
Give the exact building, studio or event space, service entrance, contact and receiving window. Confirm vehicle dimensions, unloading space and any access instructions with the production or venue team before dispatch.
Tell us whether cases go to a loading point or need agreed onward handling. For an event, include the build-up slot, collection window and who handles empty packaging. Stationary event refrigeration and refrigerated transport are different bookings. Explore event refrigeration.
Port Salford and industrial goods-in
A warehouse or industrial-estate name is not enough to identify the receiving door. Give the operator, unit, booking reference, goods release time and receiving contact for Port Salford, Northbank or Agecroft movements.
Confirm docks, forklift availability, side-loading space and vehicle limits at both ends. Explain driver check-in and load paperwork requirements. An appointment or access permission is arranged with the particular site; it is not a city-wide rule.
Campuses, technical suppliers and controlled sites
For university equipment, healthcare-supplier stock or an engineering handover, identify the building and department receiving the goods. Check whether a public reception can accept freight, and whether an appointment or named recipient is needed.
State the goods accurately, including any special packaging, temperature or controlled-access requirement. A general courier or haulage enquiry does not establish permission to enter a secure site or carry regulated goods.
Clean air, traffic and delivery windows
There is currently no charging Clean Air Zone in Greater Manchester. The official plan includes traffic measures around Regent Road. Bus-lane rules, junction controls and loading restrictions still apply. Check the current Clean Air Plan.
Works, events and busy receiving periods can alter the approach and time available. Check official traffic information and the site's current instructions. Loading, waiting and the driver's available working time form part of the delivery plan.
Confirm the last few metres
Describe the ground, slope, kerb, steps, loading bay and final placement. Photos help with a narrow yard or awkward entrance. A tail lift lowers goods; it does not move a pallet over gravel, up steps or through a doorway.
Central Salford & surrounding towns
Where is your
collection?
We assess collections and deliveries across central Salford and the wider city, including its western industrial areas and town centres, with onward UK transport. These groups help describe the job. They are coverage areas, not Synergix branch locations or fixed service boundaries.
Central Salford and the Quays
Salford Quays, MediaCity, Ordsall, New Bailey, Greengate, Chapel Street, the Crescent, Pendleton, Broughton and Kersal.
Identify the building, service entrance, recipient and agreed loading point. Production equipment and office deliveries may have different receiving arrangements.
Eccles, Swinton and nearby industrial areas
Eccles, Monton, Winton, Patricroft, Swinton, Pendlebury, Agecroft and Wardley.
Give the unit, gate and receiving contact. Confirm forklift or dock arrangements and any vehicle limits before dispatch.
Western Salford and surrounding towns
Worsley, Walkden, Little Hulton, Boothstown, Irlam, Cadishead, Northbank and the Port Salford area.
Collections and deliveries are assessed for the exact address. Send the warehouse or business operator, appointment, loaded dimensions and handling at both ends.
Onward North West and UK transport
Manchester, Trafford, Bolton, Bury, Wigan, Warrington and onward UK destinations.
These neighbouring areas are separate places, rather than Salford premises. Timing, vehicle positioning, loading and the receiver’s latest acceptance time determine the movement.

What affects the price?
Vehicle positioning, loaded distance, vehicle/body type and time at collection and delivery all contribute. Waiting, additional stops, handling equipment, extra labour, route charges and a return journey can alter the quote.
For ferry or European work, route timing and goods-document requirements also matter. We quote the actual movement; there is no single Salford mileage price that fits every load.
What happens if something changes?
Tell us promptly about an extra pallet, heavier item, delayed release, changed entrance or missed slot. We can reassess the vehicle, deadline and cost before an unsuitable arrangement causes a problem.
An enquiry is the start of the conversation. Vehicle allocation, timing, handling and price are confirmed for the booking.

Before you book
Salford transport
questions answered.
Courier, timing and delivery
How quickly can you collect in Salford?
A van collection may be possible in around 45 minutes, subject to the exact address, goods and a suitable available vehicle. Call with the ready time and delivery deadline for an estimate. Lorries, refrigerated bodies and specialist equipment need their own positioning and availability check.
Can you collect equipment from MediaCity or Salford Quays?
Yes, we can assess dedicated collections and deliveries. Send the building or studio, goods entrance, equipment list, packaged dimensions and weights, ready time and named receiver. Tell us about delicate items, upright-only cases, a booked slot or a return collection.
Can you deliver from Salford to another part of the UK on the same day?
It may be possible, depending on when the goods are released, loading time, vehicle position, distance, road conditions and the receiver’s latest acceptance time. Give us both addresses and the actual deadline. We assess the complete job before agreeing the delivery plan.
What can a dedicated courier carry?
Courier work can include documents, parts, samples, print, IT equipment, technical cases, boxed stock and suitable bulky or palletised goods. Give the packaged dimensions, quantities and individual weights so we can assess the vehicle, loading and receiving arrangements.
Will a dedicated courier load stay on the same vehicle?
It normally stays on the same vehicle between the agreed collection and delivery points, without a parcel-network sorting hub. Tell us about extra stops, returns or unusual route requirements so the arrangement is clear before booking.
Can I call at night or at the weekend?
Yes. Our phones are answered 24/7/365. Call to discuss the load and confirm a suitable vehicle and plan. Someone must be available to release the goods and accept them at the agreed times.
How will I receive delivery updates and proof of delivery?
Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available. Agree the updates and evidence you need when booking, including a named recipient, signature, photograph or delivery reference.
Haulage, vehicles and unloading
Do I need a courier or a haulage arrangement?
Start with the goods and deadline. An urgent part, technical case or suitable pallet may need a courier. Heavier freight, larger volumes, specialist bodies or repeat loads may need haulage. Send the load and site details and we will help you choose.
Can you arrange dedicated pallet transport in Salford?
Yes, we assess dedicated pallet movements with collection, delivery and a suitable vehicle agreed for the job. Send the loaded footprint, height, individual weights, quantity, stackability and loading at both ends. Synergix does not offer pallet-network services.
Can you discuss full loads, part loads and regular deliveries?
Yes. Full loads, regular haulage and supported part-load arrangements can be discussed. Agree the body, loading, collection window and delivery plan. Part-load availability is assessed individually; it is not a pallet-network product.
How do I choose a van or lorry, and can LoadCheck help?
Measure each item as it will travel, including packaging, the pallet and overhang. Enter packaged dimensions, weights and quantities into LoadCheck for an initial size estimate. Our team confirms actual fit, usable payload, apertures, restraint, equipment, access and availability.
What if the delivery site has no forklift?
Tell us before booking. A suitable tail lift, mounted forklift, crane or agreed crew may be an option, depending on the goods and site. Send item weights, dimensions, fork access or lifting points, ground conditions and final placement. These handling methods solve different problems and must be agreed.
When must I request an electric pump truck?
Under Synergix’s booking rule, request an electric pump truck when pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more. Lighter pallets may also need powered handling. Platform load, footprint, ground and the actual equipment still need checking.
Can you assess a crane or mounted-forklift delivery?
Yes. Send the precise goods, individual weights, dimensions, lifting points or fork access, required placement and photographs of the unloading area. Crane reach and support conditions differ from forklift access. Suitability, equipment and availability are confirmed for the job.
Can you arrange refrigerated transport or event refrigeration?
We can assess both, with the product, required temperature and handover agreed. Refrigerated transport moves goods under an agreed temperature arrangement. Stationary event refrigeration provides storage at a venue. Tell us which you need, the duration, access and any power requirement.
Salford access and local handovers
Do you cover Eccles, Swinton, Walkden, Irlam and Cadishead?
We assess collections and deliveries across central Salford and the wider city, including these towns and industrial areas. Send the exact address, goods entrance and receiving instructions. Coverage does not imply a Synergix branch at each location; timing depends on the job and availability.
What details do you need for Port Salford or an industrial-estate collection?
Give the operator, unit, goods-in gate, booking reference, ready time and receiving contact, plus load details and loading at both ends. Confirm the vehicle limits, driver check-in and whether a forklift or dock will be available. A site name or map pin is not confirmation that the goods are released.
Can you unload outside a Chapel Street shop or New Bailey office?
Only where lawful access and loading can be arranged for the actual address. Send the goods entrance, unloading window and current approach instructions. Signed bay restrictions, restricted turns and suspensions still apply. Check the council’s current Trinity Way and Chapel Street notice before dispatch.
Is there a Clean Air Zone charge in Salford?
There is currently no charging Clean Air Zone in Greater Manchester. Street restrictions, loading controls and junction rules still apply, and another area on the journey may have its own charging arrangements.
Can you assess engineering or defence supply-chain equipment?
Send the precise goods description, packaging, individual weights, handling instructions, deadline and authorised recipient. Ordinary components and tooling are assessed for an appropriate transport arrangement. Identify controlled goods, security conditions or special permissions before acceptance.
What should I send for a university or production-site handover?
Give the campus building or studio, goods entrance, department or production contact, receiving slot and current instructions. Describe the packaging, handling and final delivery point. A public reception may not be able to accept freight or move it to the intended room.
Price, booking and changes
What affects the price of a Salford courier or haulage job?
Vehicle positioning, route distance, body type, deadline, waiting, loading, extra stops, handling equipment and additional labour affect the quote. Send accurate goods and site details. We price the actual arrangement rather than applying one mileage rate to every load.
How do I book, and what happens if the job changes?
Request a quote or call with both addresses, packaged dimensions, individual and total weights, quantities, ready time, deadline, contacts and handling at both ends. We confirm the vehicle, plan and price for the booking. Tell us promptly about added goods, delayed release or a changed slot so we can reassess.
Can you discuss warehousing, retail distribution or two-person delivery?
Yes. Send the usual route, frequency, volumes, receiving windows and seasonal peaks. Warehousing, cross-docking, retail distribution and agreed two-person handling can be considered within a wider arrangement. Storage location, handling scope, availability and commercial terms are agreed separately.
