01 / Same-day & dedicated courier
Manchester courier.
A direct delivery.
If a missing component is holding up production, an event is waiting for its equipment or a customer needs stock today, call with the actual deadline. We arrange dedicated collection and delivery between the agreed points, without a parcel-network sorting hub.
Urgent business consignments
Documents, engineering parts, samples, tools, print, boxed stock and IT equipment can all need a dedicated courier. The smallest suitable vehicle depends on the packaged goods, not the label “parcel”. Send the quantity, dimensions and weights.
A server, delicate prototype or finished component needs packaging that protects it during loading and travel. Tell us if it must stay upright, cannot be stacked or needs a named recipient.
Pallets and bulky items
Courier work can include a suitable pallet or bulky consignment. We check the vehicle aperture, usable space, payload and unloading method. A pallet does not automatically fit a van just because it fits on the floor.
For heavier loads, several pallets or specialised unloading, see the haulage guidance. You can enquire without choosing the lorry first.
How quickly can we collect?
A Manchester van collection may be possible in around 45 minutes, subject to the address, goods and a suitable available vehicle. Call for an estimate for your actual job. A rigid, artic, refrigerated body or specialist handling arrangement needs its own availability check.
Collection speed is only part of the plan. Tell us when the goods will be released, how long loading will take and the receiver's latest acceptance time. A Manchester-to-London request late in the day needs a different assessment from a local stock transfer.
City centre, business parks and onward UK delivery
Give the correct goods entrance for a Northern Quarter shop, a Spinningfields office or a unit in Openshaw. For Manchester Science Park, identify the building, receiving team and any booking instructions. A postcode alone can lead to the public entrance.
Collections across Manchester, Salford, Trafford and surrounding boroughs can be assessed for local or nationwide delivery. Any European movement also needs the route, goods documentation and customs responsibilities agreed.
Updates, proof of delivery and repeat work
Our team remains your contact for the movement. Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available; agree any named-recipient, signature, photograph or reference requirements when booking.
We also assess scheduled supplier collections, branch transfers, multi-stop work and repeat courier routes. Phones are answered 24/7/365. The vehicle, crew and access at each end are confirmed for the booking.
02 / General & dedicated haulage
Manchester haulage.
Planned around the load.
For dedicated pallet transport, heavier engineering freight or a regular trailer movement, Synergix arranges the vehicle and driver around your load, handling and receiving requirements. Options include 7.5t, 18t and 26t rigids, full artics and suitable specialist configurations.
Dedicated pallet transport
Tell us the actual loaded footprint, height, weight and whether the freight can be stacked. A nominal pallet size does not include a crate, machine or packaging that projects beyond it.
We arrange a dedicated vehicle for your palletised goods, with collection, delivery and loading agreed for your job. Our team coordinates the movement and remains your point of contact. Tell us about fragile freight, specific handling or a timed delivery when booking.
Full loads, part loads and repeat work
A full vehicle can support larger consignments, stock transfers, production schedules and loads needing dedicated capacity. Agree the body, floor space, payload and loading order.
Part-load haulage can also be discussed where a suitable arrangement is available. Agree its collection window, delivery plan and handling before booking. For regular work, send your collection frequency, usual volumes, busy periods, site opening hours and return-load requirements.
Choose the body as well as the lorry size
Box and curtainsider
A box body uses its specified door opening and loading arrangement. A curtainsider can allow suitable forklift loading from the side. Check clear aperture, side access and restraint; curtains alone are not a universal load-securing system.
Flatbed, crane and mounted forklift
Long material, machinery or a delivery without a forklift may need a different body or handling method. A HIAB-type crane and MOFFETT-type forklift do different jobs. Supply load weights, lifting points or fork access, required reach and site photographs.
Temperature-controlled loads
Specify the product, required temperature, collection condition, packaging and monitoring or handover records. A refrigeration unit changes the vehicle specification; confirm its actual payload and space.
Articulated and specialist trailers
Curtainsider, box, refrigerated, flatbed and specialist trailer requirements are assessed individually. A long or heavy item needs its full dimensions, weight distribution and loading plan checked. The illustrated range does not establish suitability for every load.
Getting it off matters just as much
Confirm a forklift, loading dock, tail lift or other agreed equipment at both ends. For a tail-lift delivery, we need the individual item weight, footprint, all weight on the platform, permitted handling method, load centre and the surface beyond the lift.
When pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck. This is Synergix's booking requirement. Lower weights can also need powered handling. A tail lift and pallet truck do not automatically solve gravel, slopes, steps or an unsuitable pallet.
Timed deliveries and urgent haulage
A warehouse slot in Trafford Park, a factory shutdown or a construction delivery needs more than an arrival postcode. Send the booking reference, goods entrance, vehicle limits, loading method and a contact who can accept the load.
Urgent rigid or artic capacity can be assessed by our team. It does not carry the van collection estimate. Vehicle positioning, loading time, traffic, site appointments and applicable driver-hours limits determine the plan. UK, Ireland and European freight may also need ferry and goods-document arrangements.
Local work. Different requirements.
Transport shaped
by Manchester.
Manchester combines city-centre commerce and research with the industrial and distribution sites of wider Greater Manchester. These examples explain what changes the transport plan. The goods, packaging and receiving arrangements decide the service.
Trafford Park & industrial sites
Engineering, production and distribution
Trafford Park, in Trafford, is an important industrial and logistics area serving the wider Manchester economy. Machinery parts, fabricated assemblies, packaging and palletised stock can have very different loading needs.
For a replacement part, send the supplier's release time and the receiving contact. For a machine or assembly, give its packaged dimensions, weight, centre of gravity where known, fork pockets or approved lifting points. A crane or mounted forklift is assessed separately from the lorry's size.
Oxford Road & Manchester Science Park
Research, advanced materials and technology
The Oxford Road Corridor includes Manchester Science Park and the city's advanced-materials facilities. Equipment, prototypes, protective cases and replacement IT hardware can need a controlled handover between buildings or suppliers.
Give the building and laboratory or department contact, packaging instructions and item value where relevant. State the precise nature of any sample, chemical or temperature requirement before acceptance. A general courier booking does not establish suitability for regulated goods.
Openshaw & food supply
Food wholesale and hospitality supplies
New Smithfield Wholesale Market in Openshaw supports food wholesale and distribution. Its trading starts early, while individual businesses and seasonal arrangements can differ. Supplier and recipient handover times matter more than a general market opening time.
For food or ingredients, specify packaging, collection condition, required temperature and receiving facilities. A chilled consignment needs an agreed temperature-controlled vehicle and handover plan; it should not be booked as ordinary ambient freight.
City centre & retail receiving
Retail stock, print and fit-out materials
A city-centre stock replenishment can mean a service yard and a timed unloading window. Display materials or shop fittings may be bulky even when light, while finished surfaces need protection.
Send the exact goods entrance, loading slot, pallet breakdown and final delivery point. Tell us about lifts, stairs, thresholds and any need for two-person handling. Handling, assembly and installation are separate tasks to agree.
Venues & neighbouring Salford
Exhibitions, media and event equipment
Manchester Central and the wider city's venues create time-sensitive movements of stands, printed material, technical cases and event supplies. MediaCity in neighbouring Salford is part of the wider production economy.
Give the event, hall or stand, organiser's vehicle instructions, delivery slot and collection window after the event. Agree who unloads and stores empty packaging. Stationary event refrigeration and refrigerated road transport are different arrangements. Explore event refrigeration.
Wider Greater Manchester
Aerospace and defence supply-chain enquiries
Greater Manchester has verified defence manufacturing at MBDA's Bolton site, alongside Manchester's aerospace and advanced-materials research. Bolton is a separate borough, not a Manchester city-centre factory.
For ordinary components, tooling or equipment connected with a supply chain, tell us the exact goods, packaging, deadline and site handover requirements. We assess acceptance and the appropriate transport arrangement before booking. Any controlled goods, security requirements or special permissions must be identified first.
Local sector context: Oxford Road Corridor and MBDA’s published UK locations. Named organisations are local context, not claims of Synergix customers or approvals.

Routes, loading
& site access.
The motorway gets a vehicle near the job. The final street, gate and loading point decide whether it can complete the handover. Send access instructions before dispatch, particularly for city-centre, campus and controlled sites.
M60, M62, M56 and onward connections
The M60 links movements around Greater Manchester, with the M62 for east-west journeys and the M56 towards the airport and Cheshire. The appropriate approach depends on the exact site, vehicle and current conditions.
For Trafford Park and warehouse collections, give the unit, goods-in gate, booking reference and loading method. Check turning space, height and weight restrictions on the complete approach. A car route or a map pin does not establish HGV access.
City-centre loading and bus gates
Manchester's loading bays have different operating times and permitted vehicle types. Loading restrictions, signed no-stopping areas and pedestrian-crossing zigzags can prevent unloading. A waiting restriction is not a blanket permission to stop.
Bus gates affect approaches including Oxford Road, Portland Street and Deansgate. Do not assume a delivery vehicle is permitted through them. Follow the actual signs and obtain a lawful goods-entry route from the receiving business. Check Manchester's bus gates and loading guidance.
Oxford Road campuses and timed handovers
TfGM describes Oxford Road bus gates operating from 6am to 9pm, seven days a week. Different buildings may use approaches from other streets. Confirm the precise entrance rather than navigating along the corridor to the postcode.
For research, healthcare-supplier or university equipment, agree the authorised receiving person, loading location and any security or appointment instructions. A public reception desk may not receive freight.
Manchester Airport freight
The World Freight Terminal is a separate cargo site by M56 junction 6. Give the handling agent, unit, cargo reference and confirmed release or acceptance time. A passenger-terminal address is unsuitable for a freight handover.
State whether collection is landside and who arranges any controlled access or clearance. A road booking does not automatically include airside permission or customs services. Manchester Airport cargo information.
New Smithfield and event receiving
New Smithfield's general trading hours start early and vehicle entry is controlled. Confirm the trader, goods entrance, ready time and vehicle instructions directly before booking. Sunday visitor arrangements are not wholesale goods-in instructions.
For a venue or exhibition, obtain the current event manual. Build-up and breakdown can have different vehicle slots, unloading arrangements and gate procedures. Do not use a previous show's instructions for a new booking.
Clean air and current travel conditions
Greater Manchester currently has no charging Clean Air Zone. Its investment-led plan does not remove bus gates, loading controls or restrictions elsewhere on the journey. Check the current Clean Air Plan.
Roadworks, match days and events can change the approach and available time. Check official traffic information and the recipient's current instructions before a timed movement. We assess the full job, including loading and the driver's available working time.
Confirm the last few metres
Describe the ground, slope, kerb, steps, loading bay and final placement. Photos help with a narrow yard or awkward entrance. A tail lift lowers goods; it does not move a pallet over gravel, up steps or through a doorway.
Manchester city & surrounding boroughs
Where is your
collection?
We assess collections and deliveries across Manchester and the surrounding area, with onward UK transport. These groups help describe the job. They are coverage areas, not Synergix branch locations or fixed service boundaries.
City centre and central commercial districts
City centre, Northern Quarter, Ancoats, Piccadilly, Spinningfields, Deansgate and Castlefield.
Give the goods entrance and lawful loading window. An office reception or shopfront can be separate from its service yard.
East and north Manchester
Openshaw, Gorton, Ardwick, Beswick, Clayton, Newton Heath, Cheetham Hill, Harpurhey and Blackley.
For industrial premises and wholesale collections, include the unit, yard entrance, receiving contact and release time.
South Manchester and Oxford Road
Hulme, Moss Side, Rusholme, Fallowfield, Withington, Chorlton, Didsbury and Wythenshawe.
For campuses, offices and controlled sites, provide the building and goods-in directions. Check bus gates and the final approach.
Neighbouring Salford and Trafford
Salford, Salford Quays, MediaCity, Trafford Park, Stretford, Eccles, Urmston and Sale.
These are neighbouring areas, not Manchester city districts. Specify the borough and postcode, particularly where a business uses Manchester in its postal address.
Wider Greater Manchester and airport connections
Stockport, Tameside, Oldham, Rochdale, Bury, Bolton, Wigan and Manchester Airport.
Surrounding collections depend on the actual address and vehicle. For cargo, give the handling agent, unit, release status and handover reference.

What affects the price?
Vehicle positioning, loaded distance, vehicle/body type and time at collection and delivery all contribute. Waiting, additional stops, handling equipment, extra labour, route charges and a return journey can alter the quote.
For ferry or European work, route timing and goods-document requirements also matter. We quote the actual movement; there is no single Manchester mileage price that fits every load.
What happens if something changes?
Tell us promptly about an extra pallet, heavier item, delayed release, changed entrance or missed slot. We can reassess the vehicle, deadline and cost before an unsuitable arrangement causes a problem.
An enquiry is the start of the conversation. Vehicle allocation, timing, handling and price are confirmed for the booking.

Before you book
Manchester transport
questions answered.
Courier, timing and delivery
How quickly can you collect in Manchester?
A van collection may be possible in around 45 minutes, subject to the address, goods and a suitable available vehicle. Call with the ready time and deadline for an estimate. Lorries, refrigerated vehicles and specialist equipment need their own availability and positioning check.
Can you deliver from Manchester to London on the same day?
It may be possible, depending on when the goods are ready, loading time, vehicle position, road conditions and the receiver’s latest acceptance time. Give us both addresses and the actual deadline. We assess the complete movement before confirming a plan.
Will my dedicated courier delivery stay on the same vehicle?
A dedicated courier movement normally stays on the same vehicle between the agreed collection and delivery points, without a parcel-network sorting hub. Tell us about additional stops, a return collection or any unusual route requirement so the arrangement is clear before booking.
Can I call at night, at weekends or on bank holidays?
Yes. Our phones are answered 24/7/365. Call to discuss the movement and confirm the suitable vehicle, handling and receiving arrangements. Someone must be available to release the goods and accept them at the proposed times.
How will I know the goods have been delivered?
Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available. Agree the updates and receiving evidence you need when booking, including any named-recipient, signature, photograph or delivery reference requirement.
What happens if collection is delayed or the delivery slot changes?
Contact our team promptly. A later release, changed receiving slot or additional waiting can affect the vehicle, driver schedule, arrival plan and cost. Give us the new ready time and receiver’s instructions so we can reassess the movement.
Haulage, vehicles and handling
Do I need a courier or a haulage service?
Start with what needs moving and the deadline. An urgent component, parcel or suitable pallet may need a dedicated courier. Heavier freight, larger volumes, specialist bodies or repeat work may need a haulage arrangement. Send the load details and we will help you choose.
Can you arrange dedicated pallet transport in Manchester?
Yes, we assess dedicated pallet movements with the vehicle, collection and delivery agreed for the job. Send the loaded footprint, height, individual weights, quantity, stackability and unloading arrangements. Synergix does not offer pallet-network services.
Can you arrange full loads, part loads and regular haulage?
We can discuss full loads, regular work and supported part-load arrangements. The collection window, delivery plan, body, loading method and availability must suit the job. A part-load enquiry is assessed individually; it is not a pallet-network product.
How do I choose the right van or lorry?
Measure each item as it will travel, including packaging, the pallet and any overhang. Give the quantity, individual and total weights, stackability and any orientation limit. We check the actual load space, aperture, working payload, equipment and site access. Vehicle gross weight is not cargo payload.
Can I use LoadCheck before asking for a quote?
Yes. Enter packaged dimensions, item weights and quantities for an initial vehicle-size estimate. Send the result with your enquiry. LoadCheck does not confirm actual vehicle fit, restraint, loading equipment, payload, availability or a booking.
What if the receiving site has no forklift?
Tell us before booking. A suitable tail lift, mounted forklift, crane or agreed handling crew may be an option, but they solve different problems. We need the item weights, dimensions, fork access or lifting points, surface and final placement. Equipment does not come with every vehicle.
When must I request an electric pump truck?
Under Synergix’s booking rule, request an electric pump truck when pallet-truck handling is required for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more. Lighter pallets can need powered handling too. Check the lift and platform capacity, footprint, all weight on the platform, ground and handling method. The threshold is not automatic proof of safe handling.
Do goods need packaging for a dedicated journey?
Yes, they need packaging suitable for the goods and the planned handling. A dedicated vehicle does not remove the risk of movement during loading and travel. Protect fragile surfaces, sharp edges and delicate equipment; tell us about upright-only, non-stackable or special restraint requirements.
Can you provide refrigerated transport or event refrigeration?
We can assess both, with the product, temperature and handover requirements agreed. Refrigerated road transport moves goods under an agreed temperature arrangement. Stationary event refrigeration provides storage at a venue. Explain which you need, the duration, access and any power requirement.
Manchester access and local handovers
Is there a Clean Air Zone charge in Greater Manchester?
There is currently no charging Clean Air Zone in Greater Manchester. The official plan uses investment and traffic measures. Bus gates, loading controls and other street restrictions still apply, and a different city on the route may have its own charging arrangements.
Can a delivery van drive through Manchester’s bus gates?
Do not assume it can. Manchester’s bus gates permit specified vehicle types; an ordinary goods delivery is not general permission to enter. Obtain a lawful approach to the goods entrance and check the signs. Oxford Road’s published operating times are 6am to 9pm, seven days a week.
Can you unload outside a city-centre shop or office?
Only where lawful access and loading can be arranged for the actual address. Loading bays have different operating times and permitted vehicle types. Tell us the goods entrance, unloading window, site contact and any restrictions. A shop’s opening hours do not establish a loading entitlement.
What do you need for a Manchester Airport cargo collection?
Give the handling agent, exact unit at the World Freight Terminal, cargo reference, release status, packaged load details and handover time. Confirm landside or controlled-access requirements. A road booking does not automatically include customs clearance or airside permission.
What should I send for a Manchester Central or other event delivery?
Send the venue, event, hall or stand, receiving contact, loading slot, goods entrance and the organiser’s current vehicle instructions. Confirm who unloads, where empty packaging goes and when the return collection can take place. Event access arrangements must be checked for that event.
Do you collect in Trafford Park, Salford and surrounding boroughs?
We assess collections and deliveries in Manchester and wider Greater Manchester, including Trafford Park and Salford. Send both postcodes and the exact business entrance. These are coverage areas, not a list of Synergix local offices. Collection timing depends on the job and vehicle availability.
Can you assess engineering or defence supply-chain components?
Send the precise goods description, packaged dimensions and weights, handling instructions, deadline and receiving requirements. Ordinary components and tooling are assessed against the appropriate transport arrangement. Identify controlled goods, security conditions or special permissions before acceptance. No customer relationship, approval or security clearance is implied.
Price, booking and ongoing work
What affects the price of a Manchester courier or haulage job?
Vehicle positioning, route distance, body and vehicle type, waiting, unloading, handling equipment, additional stops and the deadline affect the quote. Give accurate load and site details. Tell us about changes before dispatch so we can explain any effect on the arrangement or price.
What information do you need to book?
Send both full addresses and goods entrances, contact details, ready time and latest delivery time, item quantities, packaged dimensions, individual and total weights, stackability and loading equipment at both ends. Include access restrictions, references, photographs and any special handling or temperature requirement.
Can you discuss regular deliveries, warehousing or two-person work?
Yes. Give your usual route, frequency, volumes, receiving windows and seasonal peaks. Warehousing, cross-docking, retail distribution and agreed two-person delivery can be considered as part of a wider arrangement. Storage location, handling scope, availability and commercial terms are agreed separately.
Does sending an enquiry confirm my booking?
No. An enquiry starts the discussion. The vehicle, collection and delivery plan, handling, price and booking acceptance must be confirmed. A generated enquiry reference or LoadCheck result does not establish vehicle allocation or successful email delivery.
One urgent delivery or a regular route
What needs moving
in Manchester?
Send the two postcodes, load details and deadline. Our team will help you choose the service, vehicle and loading arrangements.
