Start with what needs moving
The right service
for your delivery.
A small urgent consignment and a booked warehouse delivery need different planning. Tell us what you are moving, when it is ready and when it must arrive. We can then assess the most suitable arrangement.
Same-day & dedicated courier
When the delivery cannot wait
For urgent parts, documents, tools, samples, equipment and business stock. A dedicated movement can take your consignment directly between the agreed collection and delivery points without a parcel-network sorting hub.
- Give the ready time and the latest acceptable arrival time.
- Include packaged dimensions and weight, even for one item.
- Tell us about extra stops, fragile goods or a named recipient.
Same-day is a service requirement to check against the actual journey. It is not restricted to parcels, and it is not an automatic promise for every distance or collection time.
Choose your location →Pallet delivery & road haulage
When the load needs more planning
For palletised goods, heavier freight, full loads, part loads and repeat transport. The correct body, loading method and receiving appointment matter as much as the journey between postcodes.
- Give the loaded footprint and weight of each pallet or item.
- Confirm forklift, dock, tail lift or other handling at both ends.
- Include site slots, access limits and any delivery sequence.
A part load can suit a flexible schedule. A dedicated vehicle or full-load arrangement may be more appropriate when timing, segregation or handling requirements demand it.
Choose your location →Not sure which to choose? Send the collection and delivery postcodes, load details and deadline. An urgent pallet may need a dedicated vehicle, while a small regular shipment may suit planned distribution. You do not need to select a lorry size before speaking to us.
Use LoadCheck to enter your packaged dimensions, item weights and quantities for a first estimate of the vehicle size you need. Our team will confirm the loading arrangements, site access and vehicle availability.
Size, body & unloading
Choose for the load.
Check both sites.
The smallest suitable vehicle is often the sensible starting point. It still needs enough usable space, payload and handling capacity, with safe access at collection and delivery.
| Your requirement | Possible arrangement | What must be checked |
|---|---|---|
| Documents, parts, cartons or compact equipment | An enclosed small, SWB or LWB van, chosen for the packaged load. Small van guide · SWB guide · LWB guide | Door opening, usable dimensions, freight weight, packaging and whether the receiver can handle the goods. |
| Bulky items or pallets needing ground-level delivery | A suitable Luton or rigid truck with an agreed tail-lift and pallet-truck arrangement. Luton guide · 7.5t guide | Actual payload, pallet footprint, lift platform and load centre, total platform load, firm level ground and manoeuvring space. |
| Multiple pallets, heavy freight or full loads | An appropriate rigid or articulated vehicle. Box or curtainsider bodies suit different access and loading methods. 18t guide · 26t guide · Articulated guide | Freight and axle weights, body/aperture size, restraint, forklift or dock access, unloading order and HGV turning space. |
| Temperature control, open loads or specialist handling | Refrigerated bodies, flatbeds or specialist crane/forklift arrangements, subject to the job and availability. Specialist vehicle guide | The actual conversion, equipment rating, operating space and load requirements. Standard-body capacities do not automatically apply. |
Measure the goods as they travel
Include packaging, the pallet and any overhang in the length, width and height. Give the total freight weight and the weight of each item. Gross vehicle weight, such as 7.5t or 18t, is not the freight payload.
A load can fit inside the body but still fail to pass through the door, exceed the equipment rating or leave insufficient room to secure it. A photograph helps with awkward shapes, but it does not replace measurements.
A pallet count is only a starting point
A standard UK pallet is 1,200 × 1,000 mm; a Euro pallet is 1,200 × 800 mm. The loaded footprint may be larger. Confirm the actual dimensions, whether goods can be stacked, and any orientation restrictions.
Usable pallet positions depend on body dimensions, overhang, weight distribution, restraint space and delivery order. Refrigeration, cranes and mounted equipment can alter useful payload and loading arrangements.
How will it come off the vehicle?
Forklift or loading dock
Confirm that equipment and an authorised operator will be available at the booked time. Side loading may need a curtainsider or flatbed. A dock needs compatible vehicle height and a clear approach.
Tail lift and pallet truck
A tail lift lowers the load; a pallet truck moves it on a suitable surface. Check every weight on the platform, permitted handling method, footprint and load centre. Gravel, soft ground, steps and steep gradients need a different plan.
Crane, mounted forklift or a crew
A HIAB-type loader crane lifts; a MOFFETT-type truck-mounted forklift handles supported loads at ground level. Neither is interchangeable with two-person manual handling. Each needs its own access, capacity and operating-space assessment.
Practical South East planning
Regional deliveries.
International gateways.
The M3, M4, M20, M23, M25, M27 and A roads connect a large region with very different destinations. A timed bay, a port release and a ferry sailing each create a different constraint.
Kent, Dover & the Channel routes
For Maidstone, Medway, Ashford, Canterbury, Dartford and the Kent coast, give the exact goods entrance and receiving time. For Dover or Folkestone movements, confirm whether the job ends at a local site or continues across the Channel.
Check current official traffic-management instructions when planning freight towards Dover or Eurotunnel. Operation Brock is used during disruption; this page does not assert that it is active for your journey. Current GOV.UK Kent freight guidance. Allow for the applicable check-in, documents and onward handover.
Southampton & Portsmouth port handovers
Name the port, exact terminal, operator or agent, cargo reference and confirmed release or acceptance time. A warehouse near the docks, a container terminal, a ferry shipment and a cruise-related handover are different jobs.
State the loading method and any slot or driver requirements supplied by the operator. Port coverage does not automatically include customs clearance, access approval or specialist container equipment. In Portsmouth, check the assigned vehicle and route against the current Clean Air Zone requirements.
Isle of Wight & Newport
An Isle of Wight delivery needs a ferry plan as well as two road addresses. Give the complete vehicle and load requirements, goods-ready time, island receiving window and whether a return collection is needed.
The appropriate sailing, freight space, check-in and island access need to work together. A delivery estimate for the mainland is not an island arrival promise. Tell us about narrow approaches, turning space and the available unloading equipment before the crossing is arranged.
Oxford, Berkshire & Buckinghamshire
For Oxford, Abingdon, Didcot, Banbury and Witney, identify the site entrance and permitted route. Oxford’s Zero Emission Zone pilot is a specific scheme; check its current boundary and vehicle requirements alongside ordinary traffic and loading controls. Oxfordshire County Council’s ZEZ guidance.
For Reading, Slough, Newbury, Bracknell, Maidenhead, Windsor, Milton Keynes, High Wycombe and Aylesbury, supply warehouse references, bay slots or office receiving details. A business-park address does not identify the correct loading door on its own.
Surrey, Sussex & coastal receiving points
For Guildford, Woking, Farnborough, Aldershot, Camberley, Redhill, Reigate and Crawley, send vehicle-height limits, service-yard details and goods-in times. Basingstoke and wider Hampshire jobs need the same check of load presentation and unloading.
Brighton, Hove, Worthing, Chichester, Bognor Regis, Eastbourne and Hastings deliveries may involve shops, hotels or venues with a limited service entrance. Include the distance from vehicle to handover, stairs or lifts and any crew requirement.
Gatwick, Southampton Airport & event work
For either airport, name the receiving organisation or handling agent and exact freight or goods entrance. Confirm the release reference, appointment and driver instructions. Passenger-terminal access does not establish permission or suitability for a cargo handover.
For exhibitions and events, include delivery and removal dates, venue slots, on-site contacts and handling requirements. If refrigeration is needed at the event, specify positioning, power and duration separately from a refrigerated transport request.
Local guidance checked in October 2026. Confirm current site, road and receiving requirements for the actual movement.

Support for the
work that keeps moving.
Synergix is an independent, owner-led transport business. Alongside same-day collections, we can assess ongoing distribution and more involved handling requirements.
Regular haulage & retail distribution
For repeat factory collections, store replenishment and depot-to-depot deliveries, share the frequency, weekly volumes, stop sequence and receiving windows. Planning the whole route can be more useful than treating every delivery as an isolated urgent job.
Tell us about returns, reusable packaging, booked bays and whether delivery order changes how the load must be packed.
Warehousing & consolidation
Storage, cross-docking and consolidation can support a wider distribution plan. Our Northampton operation supports this work. Discuss stock volume, handling, storage duration and the onward South East delivery schedule together.
South East transport coverage does not mean that every listed town has a Synergix depot or storage facility.
Two-person delivery
For goods needing an agreed crew, explain item weights, the route from vehicle to delivery point, stairs, lifts and the final placement required. Photographs and access measurements help us assess the job.
Two-person delivery does not automatically include unpacking, assembly, installation or removal of packaging. Set out the required tasks so they can be agreed.
Temperature control & event refrigeration
Refrigerated transport needs the goods, required temperature range, collection condition, journey and handover arrangements specified. Confirm any monitoring or documentation requirements when enquiring.
Event refrigeration is a separate requirement for refrigeration at the venue. Share the event dates, access, positioning, power arrangements and collection time. A refrigerated delivery is not automatically an event-hire booking.

Realistic timing. A clear scope.
Quote the whole job.
What affects the collection and deadline?
Start with when the goods will actually be packed, released and ready to load. The collection estimate depends on a suitable available vehicle, its position, access and any equipment needed.
Onward timing includes the journey, loading and unloading, traffic, receiving slots and applicable driving and working-time limits. There is no reliable universal miles-per-day promise for every vehicle or job.
We assess same-day, overnight, weekend and out-of-hours requirements against those details. Tell us the real deadline, including any earlier goods-in closing time.
What affects the price?
The quote needs to account for vehicle positioning, the loaded journey, vehicle/body choice, relevant route charges and the time involved at both ends. Waiting, extra stops, additional labour, specialist equipment and a return or onward movement can change the cost.
For Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, islands or European movements, give the destination and deadline early. Ferry availability, check-in times, onward access and the goods documentation need to be assessed together. Agree who supplies any customs information and clearance services.
A clear load description and receiving plan reduce avoidable uncertainty. The price is not simply fuel cost multiplied by the distance between two postcodes.
Make the first enquiry useful
What to send us.
You do not need to know every transport term. These details let us assess the movement and ask the right follow-up questions.
- Both addressesCollection and delivery postcodes, business names, unit numbers, correct goods entrances and a contact at each end.
- The loadWhat it is, item or pallet count, packaged dimensions, total weight and individual weights. Add photographs for awkward or delicate goods.
- The timesReady time, preferred collection date, latest arrival, goods-in hours and any booked slots. Say which times are fixed.
- Handling at both endsForklift, dock, tail lift, pallet truck, crane or crew. Identify who supplies the equipment and the surface it will operate on.
- Access and site rulesVehicle limits, height and width, turning space, parking/loading restrictions, inductions, gate references and required protective equipment.
- Anything outside a simple handoverTemperature range, fragile or high-value goods, multiple stops, returns, final placement, documents or proof-of-delivery requirements.
One accountable team, from booking to delivery
Our Stoke-on-Trent operations team checks the job, confirms the suitable vehicle and follows the movement through to delivery. We communicate relevant progress updates. Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available; agree how you want to receive them when booking.
Before you book
South East transport
questions answered.
Your location and the delivery plan
Can you arrange an urgent collection in the South East today?
We can assess the address, load, readiness and deadline. A courier collection around 45 minutes can be possible in many mainland areas, subject to a suitable available vehicle. Port release, specialist loading or a long vehicle approach may need more time. This mainland collection guidance is not an Isle of Wight delivery estimate.
What does the South East directory include?
Its 56 entries cover Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, plus the Isle of Wight, listed ports and airports. Send both postcodes for surrounding villages or sites. The suitable vehicle and receiving arrangements still need to be confirmed for the actual job.
Can you arrange a delivery to the Isle of Wight?
We can assess it with the ferry crossing, vehicle and load, check-in, island address and receiving hours together. Tell us whether an onward or return movement is required. Availability and the full schedule must be confirmed before a mainland collection time is treated as an island arrival commitment.
What do you need before collecting released goods from a South Coast port?
Provide the exact terminal or warehouse, agent, cargo reference, release status, appointment and contact. Describe the goods and loading equipment. A nearby depot collection and a controlled container-terminal movement need different arrangements; agree any customs, access or specialist equipment scope before booking.
Can you deliver an urgent marine part to a ship or agent?
We can assess the road delivery when the packaged dimensions, weight, recipient, terminal and actual handover deadline are clear. Confirm who will accept the goods and any gate or access instructions. Delivery to an agent or quayside point is not automatically delivery on board a vessel.
Could Oxford or Portsmouth access rules affect the vehicle choice?
Yes. Check the exact address and route against the current local scheme and the assigned vehicle. The Oxford ZEZ and Portsmouth CAZ have different rules; neither replaces the check for street access, bay availability, height or unloading space. Include any fixed receiving window in the enquiry.
Can Gatwick or Southampton Airport freight travel directly onwards?
We can assess a dedicated road movement from the correct handling facility once the goods are released. Send the agent, reference, appointment, loading method and delivery deadline. Airside access, customs services and special cargo handling are separate requirements that must be agreed explicitly.
How should I plan a South East collection that continues to Europe?
Work backwards from the receiver’s deadline, including collection release, road travel, check-in, the crossing and applicable driver limits. Supply the goods documentation and agree who handles customs information and clearance. Follow current Kent traffic-management instructions where relevant; there is no universal daily-mileage guarantee.
Can you combine several store deliveries or a return collection?
We can discuss an agreed route and schedule. List every address, time window, load allocation and return requirement, including any empty pallets or packaging. The unloading sequence, suitable vehicle, available crew and time at each stop affect how the job is quoted.
Choosing, booking and managing the vehicle
Will my dedicated courier delivery stay on the same vehicle?
A dedicated movement is normally collected and delivered on the same vehicle, travelling between the agreed points without a parcel-network sorting hub. Specify any extra stops, return collection or timed handover. If an unusual load or route needs a different arrangement, that should be discussed before booking. Shared or part-load haulage follows its agreed service plan.
Can you arrange evening, overnight or weekend transport?
Yes, we can discuss urgent and planned out-of-hours movements, and our phones are answered 24/7/365. Confirm that someone can release the goods and that the receiver will accept delivery at the proposed time. The suitable vehicle, equipment and driver schedule still need to be confirmed.
Do I need a courier van or a haulage vehicle?
Send the packaged length, width and height, item count, total weight and individual weights. A van may suit urgent parts or a compact load; multiple pallets, heavier freight or particular loading methods can need a rigid or articulated vehicle. We check the body, usable payload, door opening, loading equipment and access together. You do not need to choose the category before enquiring.
Can you deliver pallets without a forklift at the destination?
Possibly, using a suitable tail lift and pallet truck or another agreed handling arrangement. Give the loaded pallet footprint and weight, ground condition and distance to the handover point. Platform size, load centre and every weight carried on the lift must be checked. Gravel, soft ground, steps and steep gradients cannot be solved simply by requesting a tail lift.
When should I request an electric pump truck?
When pallet-truck handling is needed for an individual loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck. This is Synergix's booking requirement, not a universal legal threshold. Lighter pallets may also need powered handling. The pallet, equipment, lift platform, surface and operating space must still be suitable.
Can LoadCheck tell me which vehicle to book?
LoadCheck gives a first estimate using packaged dimensions, weights and quantities. It does not confirm the door opening, available payload, lifting equipment, site access or vehicle availability for a particular booking. Use the result with the load details when you ask our team to confirm the movement.
How is the transport price worked out?
The quote depends on the actual load, vehicle and equipment, positioning and loaded journey, timing, route charges and time at both sites. Extra stops, waiting, additional crew or specialist handling can alter it. Send both postcodes, dimensions, weights, readiness and deadline for a job-specific quote.
Will I receive tracking and proof of delivery?
Live tracking and electronic proof of delivery are available. Agree the contact, update method and any named recipient or delivery-reference requirement when booking. If the load, collection point or receiving slot changes, contact us promptly so suitability, timing and price can be reassessed.
