The work behind your business

Keep merchant
orders moving.

When stock, vehicles or customer requirements change, a coordinated collection can keep the order moving without losing sight of the handover.

Supplier collections

Bring ready stock into the branch.

Collect from a manufacturer, importer or wholesaler and deliver to the branch or warehouse expecting the order. Share the supplier release reference, piece count and loaded measurements, including long packs and mixed pallets. Agree the unloading slot and equipment with the branch before dispatch. For repeat supply, we can plan haulage around stock volumes and receiving hours rather than book every inbound load as an unrelated emergency.

Branch transfers

Get available stock to the branch that needs it.

A product can be in stock elsewhere in the group while a local customer is waiting. We can move a ready allocation between branches or deliver it directly to the agreed trade destination. Confirm the sending branch has identified and released the goods, with labels and paperwork matching the receiving order. Include the latest useful arrival and any returnable pallets or equipment so the full movement is accounted for.

Trade deliveries

Support the order beyond the counter.

Merchant delivery capacity can be stretched by a large order, an urgent replacement or a destination needing different unloading equipment. We arrange the suitable transport for declared goods and the actual receiving point. Tell us whether the customer has a forklift, a safe hardstanding or an agreed lifting plan. A van collection, dedicated truck, Moffett or crane-assisted movement each needs the load and access checked before it is booked.

Include pallets, crates, racks and packaging in the loaded size and weight. A long or fragile item can need space without much weight. Check door openings, payload, loading equipment and the receiving point. Conversions and specialist equipment can change useful capacity.

Goods, formats & destinations

Types of building materials we transport

From fixings to long timber packs, the packed load and safe unloading method determine the transport. Describe the order before choosing a vehicle.

  • Timber & sheet materials
  • Bricks, blocks & paving
  • Boards & insulation
  • Plumbing & electrical
  • Doors, windows & joinery
  • Bagged products & fixings
  • Tools & trade equipment
Timber packs, boards and sheet stock

Supply the longest packed length, width, depth and total weight. Include bearers and packaging, and explain whether the load needs side loading or mechanical unloading. Protect sheet edges and identify material that must remain dry. Long goods can determine the vehicle even when the total weight is modest; we confirm body type and securing against the actual pack.

Dense palletised building products

Bricks, blocks, tiles and paving can use the vehicle’s payload before filling its available floor. Provide the loaded weight of every pallet and the total order. Keep goods secured on suitable pallets, and state whether the receiver has a forklift or needs assessed unloading support. Include the surface and access at the delivery point, especially when a customer expects placement beyond a kerbside handover.

Plasterboard, insulation and fragile sheet goods

These goods may be bulky, weather-sensitive and vulnerable at their edges. Describe the packed dimensions, support arrangement and any stacking limit. Confirm how the sender will load them and how the recipient will unload. Do not assume a lightweight insulation order is a small-van job, or that sheets can be carried by one driver once the vehicle arrives.

Pipes, fittings and trade replacement stock

Move ready plumbing, heating or electrical orders to branches, contractors or agreed receiving points. Give pipe lengths, carton count and individual heavy-item weights. Protect delicate finishes and identify equipment that needs to remain upright. Declare batteries, aerosols, chemicals or other potentially regulated products before booking so their acceptance and transport arrangements can be checked.

Finished goods with vulnerable faces and edges

Doors, frames, glazing and joinery need packaging and supports suited to their shape. Include photographs for awkward loads and tell us if a rack, cradle or upright position is required. Confirm the receiver and unloading equipment. Delivery does not automatically include carrying through a property, fitting or installation; any additional handling must be agreed in the service.

Cement bags, boxed fixings and packaged materials

Provide accurate loaded weights for bagged or densely packed products. Bags and cartons must be stable and protected for the journey, with damaged packaging declared. Identify pallet quantities and any mixed order that must remain together. Loose bulk tipping is a different transport requirement and must be raised separately, rather than assumed from a booking for packaged building supplies.

Packaged tools and merchant hire enquiries

Tools, machines and accessories can be collected to the stated release reference and destination. Give the weight, prepared transport size, declared contents and loading needs. Fuel, batteries, residual substances and condition may change the movement. Hire returns and collections should include the hire reference and off-hire process agreed by the parties; transport completion alone does not establish that hire charges have stopped.

Why choose Synergix?

Keep your
customer promise.

Fast response, the right transport and visibility through to the handover. Here is what those strengths mean for your team.

Rapid response

60-minute UK-wide courier collections.

Recover a missing order or an urgent trade requirement with ready goods collected quickly. Send the ready time and deadline so we can confirm the collection window. Larger and specialist vehicles need a separate availability check.

Insured transport

Confidence in the goods you entrust to us.

Fully insured transport supports your building supplies movements. Declare the goods and their value before booking so the applicable cover and any additional arrangements can be confirmed for the service.

Delivery visibility

Live tracking and proof of delivery.

See the movement and confirm the handover through live tracking and live PODs. Registered customers can use the booking, tracking and POD portal, helping your team answer enquiries and close delivery records.

Dedicated courier

Your goods, driven direct.

Take a released merchant order straight to its agreed receiver, with fewer handling stages. A dedicated courier vehicle is committed to the agreed job, reducing transfers and avoiding parcel-hub sorting. Planned multi-drop and haulage services follow their own agreed movement plan.

Connected support

One team for the wider operation.

Combine national branch transfers, regular haulage and specialist unloading support with urgent courier cover. Our operations team supports live work 24/7/365 and acts on disruption, so a changed receiving window or delayed release has somebody managing the next step.

Proven experience

Practical knowledge behind the delivery.

Trusted by some of the building-supply sector’s largest companies, Synergix brings practical understanding of merchant and trade delivery pressures. Three generations of family transport experience inform the planning, handling and decisions behind the work. We combine that knowledge with national reach and a personal point of responsibility.

Courier collection timing is confirmed when booking, subject to location, load, vehicle, traffic and availability. Insurance cover follows the declared goods, value and agreed service.

Branch operations

One collection or repeat delivery capacity.

Bring in extra transport when needed, or plan a recurring service around the branches and customers you supply.

Reactive support

A ready order, a clear deadline.

Give the releasing branch and order reference, then confirm the goods are available to load. We can arrange an urgent direct movement after checking the vehicle and receiver. Include opening hours and the latest useful arrival so the plan covers both ends of the order.

Repeat work

Build capacity around the branch schedule.

Regular supplier collections, depot transfers and customer routes can be agreed around stock volumes and trade demand. Include loading time, multi-drop allocations and return equipment. Planned haulage and dedicated courier work are quoted for their own operating requirements, without implying a pallet-network service.

Handling and access

Order the unloading equipment with the vehicle.

A delivery can only be completed safely if the unloading method fits the load and destination.

Forklift, Moffett or crane

Choose by the actual task.

Tell us what equipment is available, the individual load weights and where the goods need to go. Moffett and crane-assisted options require checks on access, ground, space and the task. Specialist availability is confirmed separately from rapid van response, and transport does not include an unplanned lift over obstacles.

Tail-lift and pallet handling

Check the surface and the pallet.

A tail-lift needs adequate platform capacity and a safe working area. Pallet trucks need suitable ground and a load they can handle. For a loaded pallet weighing 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck. Lower weights can also require powered assistance depending on the route and task.

Customer handover

Confirm where the trade order will be received.

Keep the receiving address, contact and unloading point specific. A site postcode or customer phone number alone may not be enough.

Site or premises

Give the real delivery instructions.

Include the gate, permitted delivery hours, vehicle limits and booking reference. Tell us about security, PPE or induction requirements and who will meet the vehicle. Agree a safe receiving point and any access permission before dispatch, rather than leave the driver to negotiate an unsuitable destination.

Returns and exchanges

Plan the goods coming back.

Include surplus stock, wrong items or returnable packaging in the booking. Keep branch and supplier references clear and state the condition of the goods. Damaged, contaminated or waste materials need assessment; they must not be added to an ordinary merchant stock collection without that information.

A complete brief. A useful quote.

Tell us what, where
and when.

Send the complete merchant order and release details. Photographs help with mixed packs, long goods and awkward unloading locations.

  1. Order releaseBranch or supplier, collection reference, ready time and releasing contact.
  2. Load detailsProduct descriptions, quantities, packed sizes and accurate loaded weights.
  3. Delivery pointCustomer, branch or warehouse, exact gate, contact and receiving hours.
  4. UnloadingForklift, tail-lift, electric pump truck, Moffett or assessed crane requirement.
  5. AccessSurface, vehicle limits, overhead obstructions, permits and site instructions.
  6. Whole movementDeadline, repeat frequency, returns, value and any potentially regulated goods.

What affects the quote?

The route, vehicle, loaded space and weight, urgency, stops, waiting and handling affect the price. Include repeat dates, booked slots, return work and specialist requirements so the quote reflects the complete job.

Answers before you book

Building supplies & builders’ merchants questions.

Practical answers about the goods, timing, handling, service and delivery arrangements.

Can you collect an order from a builders’ merchant for me?

Yes. Arrange release with the merchant and give us the order reference, goods-ready time, branch contact and complete load details. We confirm transport and delivery arrangements before collecting. We do not purchase the materials on your behalf as part of an ordinary transport booking.

Can you transfer stock between branches?

Yes. Dedicated courier and planned haulage can move ready stock between branches, depots and warehouses. Send both contacts, the allocation reference, load and receiving deadline, including any returnable equipment.

How quickly can you collect urgent building supplies?

Our UK-wide courier service offers 60-minute collections, with the job’s window confirmed against location, readiness and the required vehicle. Specialist trucks, crane or Moffett work need separate availability and handling checks.

Can you deliver directly from a supplier to our trade customer?

Yes, if the supplier releases the goods and the receiving arrangements are suitable. Provide the order reference, packed load, customer contact and unloading method. We agree the handover rather than assume the goods can be left at an unattended site.

Do you offer Moffett or crane-assisted delivery?

Yes, subject to assessment and the suitable vehicle being available. Send individual load weights, access information, ground conditions and the intended unloading task. A specialist vehicle must be specified in advance.

Can a tail-lift deliver a heavy pallet?

It depends on the loaded weight, platform capacity, load centre, surface and handling plan. For a loaded pallet of 800 kg or more, request an electric pump truck. The team confirms suitability; the threshold does not make every pallet or location safe for tail-lift delivery.

Can you transport long timber and plasterboard?

We can arrange suitable transport for declared long and sheet goods. Give full packed dimensions, weight, support and weather-protection needs, and the loading equipment at both ends. Long packs may require a different body even when they are relatively light.

Can you deliver into active construction sites?

Yes, with the site’s access and receiving arrangements agreed. Provide the gate, booking slot, vehicle limits, contact and safety instructions. Do not assume every driver or vehicle automatically meets a site-specific accreditation or equipment requirement.

Will the driver carry the goods inside or install them?

Ordinary transport does not automatically include internal carrying or installation. Tell us what additional handling is needed, including stairs and access. Two-person work or other assistance can be scoped where suitable and available.

Can you collect surplus stock or hire returns?

Yes, if the goods, condition, references and destination are declared and accepted. Waste, contamination, fuel or batteries can change requirements. Confirm any off-hire or supplier-credit process with the relevant business; delivery proof is not their commercial acceptance.

Is the order insured, and will I get proof of delivery?

We provide fully insured transport, live tracking and live PODs. Declare the goods and value so applicable cover can be confirmed for the booked service. Registered customers can use the booking, tracking and POD portal.

Can you provide regular overflow transport for our branches?

Yes. Share branch locations, order profiles, frequency, peak periods and receiving requirements. We can plan repeat courier or haulage support, with the vehicle, unloading and reporting arrangements agreed for the operation.

One urgent delivery or a regular programme

Ready at the branch. Needed at the next job.
